CHUCK vs. The Colonel - Give Me My Remote : Give Me My Remote

CHUCK vs. The Colonel

April 21, 2009 by

Who wants to hear a confession of how dumb I am? What? Everyone? Okay! I totally thought this was the season finale. I know, I know. I guess I got confused. But it turned out alright because I was completely watching with heightened emotion and suspense. You cannot IMAGINE my relief and excitement when I realized that we still have one more glorious episode to go!

I don’t even know where to start because this episode was just that good. I’m one of those people who, to the irritation of anyone who has ever lived with me, can enjoy something over and over and over (and over), whether that’s eating the same thing for dinner four or five nights in a row, watching one movie on a constant loop, playing one song on my iTunes on repeat, etc. And last night, I was so ready to do that with this episode. If only stupid sleeping and hygiene didn’t get in the way. But I did save it on my DVR, so YEAH!!!!

We really hit the ground running on this one. Chuck and Sarah in the hotel was a little amazing, and how much did everyone love Sarah’s hot ass in those panties? It just has to be said—if you’re going to put it out there, I’m going to pick it up and run with it because that’s how I roll, okay? I know I was totally excited to see some spooning and some cute hand holding, but I’m sure that the average collective heart rate in America took a jump during that makeout scene! Oh, HOT. But I’m still a little glad that we have the sex to look forward to. I mean, yes, we have had like two years building up to it, but I felt like this was a good audience tease. And that whole Morgan taking the condom thing … oh, that was a visual I just wasn’t sure I wanted to have. So I kind of tried in my mind to go to a place where Morgan was making water balloons out of condoms or seeing how many pieces of chicken he could stuff into it … but then you know Anna’s a freak, so the illusion was lost.

Okay, while we’re talking about Morgan … WHAT?!?! Morgan QUIT the Buy More? Seriously, are they writing him off? Are they getting rid of the Buy More? I NEED TO KNOW THESE THINGS! Interestingly, I could totally see Morgan as a Benihana chef, and I have had plenty of them who weren’t Asian so I say follow your dreams. I did think it was funny that he picked another chain place as his dream job, except in Hawaii. But I was like … actually feeling really emotional during his quitting scene, even amid all the chest hair and applause. And I realized that I’m not ready to let go of Morgan! He and Chuck are supposed to be together forever!

Casey completely and totally stole the show (and my heart, as usual) this week. I LOVED him in this episode. The radiator ripped from the wall was great, and I loved when he and Sarah jumped to action to kill all the Fulcrum agents outside the hotel and then turned on each other. And I loved how Chuck wouldn’t leave either of them. The scene in the car with the three of them, with Sarah telling Chuck that he didn’t do anything wrong, he just trusted someone who he thought cared about him while giving Casey a very pointed look, and the really subtle but really just … perfect expression on Casey’s face before he managed to growl out, “I don’t care”. I didn’t believe him at all, but I still hurt for Chuck when he said it.

I also really loved how we got to see the bizarre Casey code of conduct again this week, and how consistent it is. And I felt like it was probably the most emotion we’ve seen from him, not just in a single episode, but period. And I am so completely impressed that someone who is supposed to be all stoic and hard-skinned can still portray that and yet get so much feeling across. I want him to submit this episode to the awards committees.

BUT ANYWAY. When he took Chuck and Sarah back to Castle to detain them, and Chuck told Casey that Casey had betrayed the team, I loved how Casey just snapped, and banged on the glass and told him, “YOU betrayed ME, and don’t you ever forget it.” It was so wrought with emotion and I just turned to Billy and said, “Casey’s pissed!” I loved how the General told Casey to bring Chuck and Sarah back dead or alive, but he was doing everything in his power to keep them alive, and he promised Chuck he’d protect his father, and the caring was just really showing through.

When Casey showed up at the drive-in and held Chuck at gunpoint and pointed out his mistakes, the biggest one that he didn’t ask for Casey’s help, I seriously almost died. Of COURSE Casey values serving your country and keeping your word and helping your team. It just made good sense. But when Chuck asked him in that sort of confused, hesitant way if he wanted to help them and Casey agreed, Sarah’s reaction was the totally priceless part. The way she said, “Is that a YES?” was so great, so funny and genuinely shocked sounding. I think it might be one of her best deliveries yet. Also loved the deal struck where Chuck would stay in the car (which he of course didn’t because he never does), and how after everything, Casey was still NOT okay with hugging.

Since we’re already at the drive-in, can I just take this moment to tell you all how much I love drive-ins? I’d say it’s one of my great loves in life, and even though it wasn’t real, it did still make me a little bit sad to see one ending in explosions.

I have no good segue into this, but … CAPTAIN AWESOME!!! Alright, I was TOTALLY in favor of Awesome finding out Chuck’s secret, and it happened in the most glorious possible way. Having Lester and Jeff breaking into Casey’s locker and thinking he was a psycho Chuck-obsessed stalker was amazing. His whole scene with Casey leading up to him find out was pretty amazing, too—that speech about how he used to be like him, not much going on, no girlfriend, dead end job, and then Casey asking if that was true and him having to admit that no, it wasn’t, was just kind of incredible all around. That fight scene was spectacular, and Casey getting whacked in the head by his own Ronald Reagan bust was AMAZING.

Awesome’s reaction to Chuck being a spy was so good … the confusion and mostly just shock, followed by, “That’s awesome!” and the high fives was so perfect. And I loved how he agreed to be awesome for Chuck and cover with Ellie, but how he was having such a hard time lying to her. I think I have a soft spot in my heart for terrible liars, because that is SO me—my face gives away every last thing I’m thinking. And I loved how Ellie inserted her own explanation to fit his weird behavior, which was pre-wedding jitters, since that’s something I also do. But Awesome did actually pull through and I think him knowing Chuck’s secret is going to be a really good thing for the show.

And speaking of Ellie … she looked BEAUTIFUL last night. In an episode full of Sarah kicking ass and making out with Chuck and Casey … being Casey, Ellie is the one who pulled down the hotness award with ease. And I did love her in the scene with Scott Bakula in his tux, and it was nice to see things work out for her and her be able to be so happy.

And speaking of seeing people happy, it was so great to see Chuck and Sarah and Casey at the end of the episode (and how funny was it how quickly Casey got dressed), just being friends and acting like normal people? And I loved how now that the mission is over, Sarah and Chuck are navigating this new territory and she seems so shy and sweet.

Honestly, since I was a dummy and thought this was the finale, I was like, “Ummm … where’s the part we’ll all be burning down our living rooms over?” Most of it felt like it actually could be a series finale, except for Roark getting in the truck. And then I was like … that’s it? That’s the big moment? And then the previews for next week came on and you know what happened. Yes, that’s right, I joined The Pee Panty Brigade (AGAIN!). I was SO excited.

I really can’t wait for next week, and I mean it more than usual, and I ALWAYS mean it.

Okay, so I know I skipped some minor things in the interest of not keeping you here all day reading, so please please please celebrate all of your favorite things in the comments! I love talking Chuck with all of you and this one was so major, it’ll probably get promoted to colonel! (Okay, sorry, that was so lame, but you know I have a cheesy sense of humor and I like to end on a Chuck-related joke! Don’t hate!)

SB has many interests, including photography, her pets, entertainment, traveling and writing. She does have a day job, but that mostly amounts to her being a sarcastic young woman with a lot of time on her hands, which is why she appreciates the opportunity to recap.

I loved it all!!! Great review as always!

So I’m just not sure where it goes from here. The Intersect is out! It’s all up in the air, I have no idea what’s coming and I love it. This is why I LOVE this show.

    LONG LIVE CHUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. RB on April 21st, 2009 1:33 pm

When is Chuck going to start protecting Sarah? I thought it would have been pretty cool if Chuck would have stood between Casey and Sarah next to Sarah. Sarah is gorgeous and for a guy like Chuck to have someone like Sarah is like a fantasy… I think it is time they move away from the Buymore to keep the show going.

  3. RC on April 21st, 2009 1:42 pm

Hi everyone. This was a great episode. It totally freaked me out that this episode went the way it did, not because it looked like a season finale but because after all this there could still be an episode after to top it all. Amazing.

I’m sure you’ve all done what you can to campaign for the show. I just wanted to urge you all who is participating in the “finale and footlong” campaign to also send in your receipts and/or pledge to buy one on the Season 3 premiere.

Let’s continue to show your support! I like my living room without any char.

  4. JT on April 21st, 2009 1:48 pm

    Thanks for the great recap!

One of my favorite lines was when Chuck and Sarah are in the cell and Chuck mentions a “2 bed, 2 bath cell” and Sarah says “2 beds?”

  5. SB on April 21st, 2009 2:23 pm

I think I am actually going to do finale and a footlong. I don’t know if it’ll help, but I’ll do anything I can!

And JT, totally–that was the part that sprung to mind about her just being a cute, shy girl in a new relationship. 🙂

  6. Nick on April 21st, 2009 3:26 pm

Wow, what an amazing episode! I have to say that this one featured just about everything that I like about Chuck. However, I really got the impression that this was essentially a series finale for Chuck. It will be interesting to see how the show can go forward with all the changes (no intersect, no Morgan at the Buy More, etc.). Perhaps Chuck will finally leave the Buy More and then go into spy work, or be some kind of NSA/CIA consultant. Plus, I saw the preview for next week, and it looks like it should be exciting. Although, I find it hard to believe that a fat-old Chevy Chase is really going to be able to bring down an entire wedding ceremony on his own. Maybe we’ll see the eventual reunion of Chuck, Bryce, and Jill, sort of a final transition from Chuck’s old life to his new opportunities.

Anyways, back to this episode, I really loved the character development on Casey. For awhile there I actually believed that he would just put Chuck and Sarah away and accept his new assignment and rank. I have to agree about the outburst he had in the jail cell about betrayal, it really summed up his attitude nicely. Plus, all of his fight scenes were awesome this week. I especially loved the Chuck/Casey conversation in the car when Casey was still attached to the radiator. And wasn’t it great to see Awesome take on Casey using his Regan bust? The Buy More humor was also spot on this week. Although I know that there is an obvious homage to The Godfather with the Big Mike/home theater room scene, I also saw it as a slight homage to the Jabba’s Palace scene from Return of the Jedi. Something about the setting and mood just made me think of that classic sci-fi scene. I did find it somewhat hard to believe that when the power goes out in castle, the prison doors just automatically open!

Well, I’ll be interested to see how the next episode goes. In a way, I’m almost a little disappointed because I know that everything is going to change (either we’ll have a very different Chuck or no Chuck at all next season). This episode had all the elements of what I always imagined a Chuck series finale might hold, I just always thought we would get a few more seasons of “classic Chuck” beforehand though.

Well, maybe the changes will make the show even better, but I know one thing for sure, I’ll be watching no matter what!

  7. Nicole on April 21st, 2009 3:43 pm

I can’t take the time to write everything I’m thinking, but holy jeebus I loved this episode!!! I actually clapped….CLAPPED like a kid when Awesome found out about Chuck. I’ve been dying for Awesome to get himself embroiled in a spy mission and this was done SO WELL. I’m so glad that he’s the one that found out first – now he’ll be like a co-conspirator with Chuck in the future (assuming there is one…).

Loved Casey’s freak out about betrayal – it showed that he only did what he did because HE felt betrayed when Chuck and Sarah went rogue without him (but would he have gone rogue, given the chance? I’m thinking nah…). Actually there were more reasons for going after Chuck and Sarah (promotion, service to his country, etc.) but I think betrayal was a big one.

I agree SB that we got the perfect tease with Chuck and Sarah – they have barely kissed each other so far, so what we got was a huge leap forward while still leaving room to build on the relationship.

Can’t believe it about Morgan – clearly they will bring him back to the Buy More should season 3 happen, right? But it was a great scene, and I’m a sucker for a good Slow Clap.

Omigod, next week! Cannot wait!! I will cry if it’s the last Chuck ever and no I’m not just being dramatic. I think I will actually cry. Count me in for the Subway campaign – I’ll plunk down my five bucks and a comment card!

  8. Michele on April 21st, 2009 3:53 pm

Easily my favorite show on tv right now, and I do not say that lightly. Great ep!!

  9. SB on April 21st, 2009 3:55 pm

SHUT UP NICOLE, I totally clapped too! I was SO excited! And seriously, I don’t know if I can live without Morgan in the Buy More and I DEFINITELY can’t live without the Buy More. OMG, what would I do without Jeffster? Probably something drastic. 🙂

  10. Kimber on April 21st, 2009 3:59 pm

SB – you’re not alone!! I *knew* there was another episode to come, and I STILL thought this must be the finale! Silly, I know, but it just felt so … so perfect for a finale. Up until the last scene, of course. Fulcrum was destroyed, Chuck saved the day, his dad, and the Intersect, freed his mind of the thing, he and Sarah showed REAL, un-staged interest in each other, and … the hotel scene? HOT. Sarah in those panties INDEEDY! Sorry … nerd in me hopped out for a sec there.

I’m glad there’s one more left too … and I’m guessing we will see an Awesome Wedding? Cool, I can’t WAIT!

Morgan going to Hawaii?? Isn’t that where Harry Tang is? Perhaps they can hook up? (Not *that way* of course!). But he NEEDS to come back. If not to the Buy More, than at least back to Burbank. Loved the scene with him de-shirting and carrying Anna out of the store … too funny!

So much goodness in this episode, I could probably write a comment the size of your recap, SB! Wow. Casey … LOVED and hated him all at the same time. In the end he was a softie at heart, and I love how he needed Chuck to ask him for help … that was awesome. Speaking of Awesome … Awesome knows!! That’s fantastic. I loved the way it played out too … perfect!

I seriously, seriously, seriously LOVED this episode. Five stars, two thumbs up, whatever else you can give to the MAX. I’m sure it will be rewatched this weekend (though I kind of half rewatched it at 10, when it airs on another channel).

Now … off to find the preview for next week and join The Pee Panty Brigade!

  11. little bit on April 21st, 2009 4:01 pm

this is sort of chuck related as it was a commercial during the show – did anyone else see the insight car commercial? he totally CUT HIS HAIR. i only mention this because i know his hair has been an issue for some.

this ep really felt like a series finale, sort of wrapped up in a pretty package, until the previews for next week. bryce! never a good sign.

  12. Denise (ddker) on April 21st, 2009 4:02 pm

Favorite line of the night for me was Chuck saying to Devon, “Can you……be awesome?”
Also loved how Casey said he could kill Chuck with his thumb, elbow or the radiator, but then Chuck said he was to confined in the car to get the proper torque to kill him with the radiator.

  13. Kimber on April 21st, 2009 4:16 pm

LITTLE BIT! I totally forgot to mention that commercial for the Insight! I caught the beginning, thought I heard “Chuck”, and thought it was Zach Levi’s voice. He looks totally HOT with shorter hair! No more “swoop bowl”! Adorable.

  14. SB on April 21st, 2009 4:30 pm

I also loved the commercial hair! And, big props to that commercial because I watched on DVR (I know, I know) and I actually stopped the DVR, REWOUND, and watched it. Yay!

And Kimber, the Harry Tang connection also occurred to me! I guess everyone just wants to move to Hawaii, and can’t say I blame them. 🙂

  15. SB on April 21st, 2009 4:35 pm

Oh, and Nick, I meant to say earlier that I agree that the Castle prison opening up when the power went out stretched my suspension of disbelief, but I just tried to not think about it too much. I know it may not be the best answer, but I make it work for me. 🙂

  16. P D Yerf on April 21st, 2009 4:49 pm

This episode seriously gave me a chuckgasm. I’m not sure what that is, but I have now experienced it. I really believe it’s the best episode to date (I was a little disappointed with last week’s, not gonna lie) although i will admit to screaming angrily at my television when chuck found the iou from morgan. come on!
I’m not in suspense about roark killing ellie, which is strange because I know SOMEONE still has to die. I’m more interested in what’s going to happen next, how the entire basis of Chuck now has to change. I’m so excited to see what’s to come!!!!!

Oh and SB, I have the SAME love affair with the wonders that are drive in movie theaters. I live in a state where we have at least four, and I go to at least one drive in double feature a summer. A summer is not complete without a visit. Which made me also sad when they had to destroy the theater in the end. America has so few drive ins as it is!!!!!!!!

  17. SB on April 21st, 2009 5:11 pm

Which state do you live in, P D? (Sorry for the derailment, everyone else, although it’s quasi-on-topic.) I’m from Indianapolis originally, and they have the most glorious drive-in I have ever experienced in my life. I’m planning a visit in a couple weeks and it’s TOTALLY on the to-do list.

  18. Kimber on April 21st, 2009 5:15 pm

Found the Insight commercial here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usMmqAVGdH0 Go view it! Cute hair … and the hot blonde at the start had me doing a double take!

  19. Lynzee on April 21st, 2009 5:49 pm

I hate to say it, but I agree with Nick…. (not that I hate to agree with Nick, I just hate what Nick is saying– but its totally true!)… I think this will be the end for Chuck.

This was an amazing episode- just fantastic! A perfect season… no make that series ender. The intersect is out. Morgan is growing up. Chuck got the girl. Dad’s back. Josh Schwartz and the team are doing a fantastic job of tying up story lines. And like Nick said, if we do get Chuck back next season, they are going to have to JUMP through some MAJOR hoops to get back to the core story line of the show. The intersect wasn’t 100% removed? Or it gets reimplated? Chuck remians a spy sans-intersect? Mogan chickens out and stays to only get a job at Orange Orange?

As much as I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chuck, and have been campaigning HARD for its stay, after last night’s episode I’m slowly becoming okay with it dying with dignity and leaving us with a happy ending rather than a cliff hanger that will never be answered.

(One plea to Josh and the team, PLEASE do full commentaries on this season’s DVDs. Doing commentaries on clips of season 1 was kinda lame and very disapointing.)

  20. Erik on April 21st, 2009 6:12 pm

I have a million thoughts about last night’s outstanding episode, but the overnight ratings are sobering. With less competition than usual, due to House being preempted and the CBS sitcoms in repeats, here is the week to week comparison, courtesy of TVbythenumbers.com

    18-49 Rating/Share 18-34 Rating/Share Viewers (Millions)
    4/20 2.3/6 1.9/6 6.05
    4/13 2.3/6 1.8/5 6.22

This is a punch to the gut of the “Save Chuck” movement, and I hope NBC execs will recognize that sending out a full roster of new shows every fall does not lead to success.

  21. Mer on April 21st, 2009 7:18 pm

OMG!!! I am SO glad that other people clapped when Awesome found out about Chuck! I also jumped up and down on the couch, and I believe there was some giddy squealing. There was so much that I loved about this episode I don’t even know where to begin. This episode really, really had everything I love about this show, multiplied by about 20. I’ve now watched the episode three times, and plan to watch it about a zillion times more before next week’s episode, if only to hear Sarah say, “Because the floor’s gross and I’m not going to make you sleep on it” (I don’t know why I love that line, but her delivery is so girl-next-door it makes me giggle) and Casey growl “Nerd bludgeoned by raditor?” or watch Jeff take a hit of chloroform and pass out…

I love this show. So much. I already wrote NBC my respectful grovelling letter and plan to buy a $5 footlong for dinner next Monday. I, too, will weep for many, many Mondays if they do not renew this show.

  22. P D Yerf on April 21st, 2009 8:02 pm

lol I’m from Maine, land of the no-people 🙂 I’ve been to Indianapolis; I loved it there!

  23. Lynne on April 21st, 2009 8:34 pm

Thanks for sharing the Casey love!! I love Chuck and Sarah, Ellie and Awesome, the Buy More crew- but for me, Casey is the best thing about this show. Baldwin was phenomenal last night. It was a great episode.

  24. Hilary on April 21st, 2009 9:41 pm

    I effing loved this episode.

Okay, I was all happy for Casey getting the Colonel upgrade, whatever, he so deserves it. And the whole “You didn’t ask me!” thing was welcome, considering how much of a jerk he was being to his TEAM the whole episode. Don’t turn your back on your team.

And Captain Awesome.. I think I find him more Awesome after this episode. He was perfect. Freaked out and incredibly impressed at the same time. Because he can just be like that.

And Chuck and Sarah, make me happy that they are my OTP. 😀 !!! Words cannot be said.

  25. PT on April 21st, 2009 9:54 pm

OMG I will be so upset if Chuck is cancelled! My favorite moment was when he pulled back from kissing Sarah to smile. It was such a beautiful moment beautifully acted by him!!! Chuck was gonna get the girl and you couldn’t help but cheer him on! I loved all of it but for the condom part, although I loved the Morgan note and anyone annoyed by the choice of condom interruptus like me seems to be giving them a pass b/c otherwise it was so cute. They had to interrupt them somewho I suppose. I just think a moment always comes when someone asks “do you, are you, etc” to know if a condom is needed and instead they just have him hop out of bed. Plus Sarah is an international spy who could find herself in a compromising position at any time and I just think she’d have birth control taken care of. Him telling her not to move or breathe was priceless. And she had a really subtle moment when she threw her arm across the bed in that omg I can’t believe this is happening move. Wonderfully acted by her as well. OMG the moment when she says ” a 2 bed?” …loved it. Very sexy. They really fed the fans some good stuff. Of course I know they will drop that topic now til next season when in RL if he’s taking her out to his sister’s rehearsal dinner he’d be trying again RIGHT NOW. But they won’t. Gotta drag it out.

I can’t wait for next week!

  26. Kristina on April 21st, 2009 11:09 pm

Did any one else notice in the previews for next week, the very last thing you see is a gun go off and it looks like Bryce is shooting it. And we know someone dies in the finale and it’s shocking. What if Bryce really is Fulcrum and that’s why Sarah yells don’t you touch him and then she gets shot saving Chuck? I really hope it’s not Sarah but it definitely could be. Or it could be Chuck’s dad…. Thoughts?

  27. Nick on April 22nd, 2009 12:22 am

“And like Nick said, if we do get Chuck back next season, they are going to have to JUMP through some MAJOR hoops to get back to the core story line of the show. The intersect wasn’t 100% removed? Or it gets reimplated? Chuck remians a spy sans-intersect? Mogan chickens out and stays to only get a job at Orange Orange?”

Thanks for agreeing with me Lynzee! I do just want to clarify my feelings and state that I don’t want Chuck to end at all and I would be highly interested in seeing how they could work around the events of this past episode. I just really wanted to express how much I thought that this episode felt to me like a series finale, plus I was sort of in a rush to get to class. While I would love to see more of the Chuck that we have all come to know and love, I will still be watching no matter what happens concerning next season!

  28. Kerry on April 22nd, 2009 12:49 am

SB — I watched the entire episode thinking it was the finale, and was embarrassingly confused when the previews for next week started to play. Something like “Huhwha?”

I loved the episode, though I tried to get some friends to start watching, and it wasn’t exactly the best one to jump in on. I think most of what I loved has already been discussed. Has anyone mentioned Chuck’s ambiguous reaction to the Intersect being out of his head? He finally got what he wanted, and seemed completely nonplussed about it.

Also, I know I am probably far too fixated by Chuck’s hair, but after seeing Zachary Levi fantastic real hair in that commercial, all I could think about was Ellie’s “funny animal shapes” quote when they showed Chuck again. The general hotness and Chuck’s smile in the hotel made up for it, though.

  29. SB on April 22nd, 2009 10:01 am

Oh man, I’ve gotten behind on replying to everyone as much as I can! (I like for it to feel interactive!) But I did want to comment to Kerry about how “nonplussed” is such a good description. I’m sure it was totally weird for him to be rid of it. I think I probably felt a little like Chuck–so much happened so fast that it was a little difficult to process it all!

I know what you guys are saying about where they can go from here, but I feel pretty confident that there’s a plan, and I trust it, which isn’t to say it doesn’t make me a little nervous, but it’s just that I’ve never felt let down by this show so I don’t anticipate it in the future. Either way, I know that it’s just like Nick said–we’re all interested, we all love the show, and we’ll all keep watching. 🙂

Out of curiosity, how many of you guys are planning on doing the finale and a footlong thing? I see it’s picking up steam on the internet, so Billy and I are going to participate next week since we figure at the very least, it can’t hurt, right?

  30. Ryan on April 22nd, 2009 10:41 am

I’m having a Finale and Footlong Night at my house Monday night. I’ve already got a few Chuck fans coming. Some of my friends are on the edge of becoming fans, and I think something as cool as this campaign will give the boost they need. It really impressed me when I looked at a new note from Zac on chucktv.net. He said that he will be participating as well. He even said what kind of sandwich he is getting. I can’t remember what it was, but it wasn’t the Sweet Onion, chicken teriaki (spelling).

  31. Emily on April 22nd, 2009 10:51 am

I really can’t say enough about how much I ADORED this episode! Great recap…left me with that same perma-grin I had after watching…and rewatching…and rewatching. I really can’t add much more to what’s been said.

This CANNOT be the end of Chuck! Save him! Can’t wait for next week. 🙂

  32. Kimber on April 22nd, 2009 12:36 pm

Definitely doing the footlong & Chuck finale combo! Any chance of a live chat happening here next Monday? (Since I may end up watching alone with my veggie delite?)

  33. Toast with JAM on April 23rd, 2009 1:01 am

So, is anybody here old enough to recognize that Morgan’s quitting scene was taken directly from An Officer and a Gentleman? Classic.

Morgan in Hawaii…first thought was Harry Tang. OK, I’m going back to finish reading the re-cap and comments….

  34. Kaye on April 23rd, 2009 2:24 am

Awesome ep that I agree could actually be the finale. Made me feel good despite a stressful week ahead. I’m guessing next week, we’ll probably have a major cliffhanger? I’m alright with that as long as it won’t be the last episode ever.

And how cute was Zac in that honda hybrid ad? Love him!

Oh, Footlong and Finale…count us in!

Toast with JAM: I totally caught the Officer and Gentleman take for Morgan and Anna. At least up until the part when Morgan had to put her down because his back hurt! As for the commercial, any chance the hot blonde in the front seat was Yvonne? You only really get one side look and it is brief, but it certainly resembled her. Might the “shocking death” have been from First Kill when the Fulcrum agent fell out of Chuck’s grasp? Not a major character dying, but the whole incident (post “the Morgan”) was a shock to me. Under the idea of consipiracy, might NBC have already decided to renew Chuck? Think how much press the show and NBC are getting with this campaign.

Mac, the thought about all of NBC’s free publicity had also occurred to me. I’d really like for that to be true, but I kind of have my doubts about certain executives over there being able to come up with that. Of course, if I find out that’s exactly what happened, I’ll be happy to eat my words along with my delicious footlong. 🙂

I am so late to comment as I was on the road for work and only got to watch last night – the suspense was killing me and I didn’t dare read a thing before watching.

OMG…I am speechless and since you all covered all the bases, I leave it at this.

Save Chuck, save the world 🙂

Lisa, we’re glad to see you, and better late than never! Will you be able to watch the finale with us?

I am planning on live chat with you all this Monday! Not sure ’bout the footlong as Subway is not terribly convenient in my area, but footlong or no fotlong I plan to be there!
