GOSSIP GIRL Season 2 Premiere…Tonight

The following contains small spoilers for tonight’s season premiere of Gossip Girl.  Read at your own risk.

Get ready to indulge in all things naughty and nice because GOSSIP GIRL returns tonight at 8pm on The CW.  And in the immortal words of Blair Waldorf “Oh my F’ing God” you are going to love it!

The first few episodes of the second season of GOSSIP GIRL are akin to reading the best ‘What I Did on my Summer Vacation’ papers ever.  Not to be taken in by the lazy days of summer, our gang have been keeping themselves quite busy.  But in this world, keeping busy usually doesn’t come without consequences – and with the consequences comes a whole lot of scandalous fun. But don’t forget that “fun” can be subjective.

Hot town, summer in the city…
If nothing else, the summer away from Manhattan has seemed to slow down the normally frantic pace of our gang.  Maybe it’s the fresh air, or maybe it’s just being able to take a breather from all the scandal, but it seems as if our Upper East Siders are acting like…teens.  gasp! They pout when they don’t get their own way.  They wallow in self pity over love lost.  They lash out when embarrassed. As much as they try to act like they’ve got it all figured out, it’s a nice to see them acting like teens with teen problems every once in a while.  Being mature is very different than just trying to portray it and try as they may, not everyone is mature as they like to think they are.

But just what have our gossiped about ones been up to? Check out the first five minutes of GOSSIP GIRL here and then continue on reading to get the scoop.

Gossip Girl Season 2 - Nate, Serena and Dan

Nate and Serena – the new Hamptons power couple – have been keeping Gossip Girl on her toes.  Try as she may our little blogger can’t seem to get the goods on what N&S have been up to. These two have been quite elusive leaving Gossip Girl to rely on hearsay and speculation. But that can only get you so far. Too bad GG doesn’t have the real story…it’s so much better.

Lonely Boy isn’t so lonely these days.  Perhaps dating Serena van der Woodsen has earned Dan Humphrey a little street cred with the ladies.  Looks like Dan is a little more Chuck Bass than we ever hoped he would be. But is Dan’s new lifestyle getting in the way of his future or is he stumbling over the past.

Blair returns to the Hamptons to enjoy the final days of summer with her BFF Serena after vacationing in Europe.  It seems the summer was god to Blair – at least if we’re judging by her arm candy. But karma’s a bitch…and so is Blair Waldorf, so don’t think Queen B has pulled the old forgive and forget when it comes to being humiliated by Chuck Bass.

Little Jenny Humphrey certainly has done a 180 or I guess it’s more like a 360 depending on your perspective. It seems that Little J has taken a break from the scheming and taken up with the sewing.  Jenny is still overly focused on clothes, but this time around she’s the one making them.  Her internship with Eleanor Waldorf’s clothing empire hasn’t been as glamorous as Jenny had hoped but sometimes it’s all about getting through the bad to get to the good.

Needing a break from the aftermath of Lily’s marriage to Bart, Rufus hits the road of one hit wonders and wonders if he made a mistake by leaving his rocker lifestyle behind to raise a family. But don’t worry, Vanessa and her big earrings are taking care of things at the gallery, and making a few changes while she’s at it.

And what about Chuck Bass?  Well, he’s just being Chuck Bass.  And that’s a good thing.

I’m not sure when I went from loathing all things Chuck Bass to loving every nasty bit of him, but that boy owns me.  Ed Westwick’s portray of Chuck is so tortured and delicious that he completely steals every scene he is in…even when he doesn’t have a word to say.  All it takes is a twitch of an eyebrow and a little smirk to know that Chuck Bass is up to no good. And when Chuck is up to no good, GOSSIP GIRL is at its best.

The Ballad of Chuck and Blair…
Chuck and Blair - Gossip Girl
If you’re a fan of Chuck and Blair then you are going to love the first few episodes of the new season.  The cat and mouse game is far from being over but now the stakes have been raised and both are passionate about getting what they want.  But it’s all about reading between the lines with these two. And just wait until you see what happens in the third episode of the season.  Chuck does something that literally had me yelling “OH MY GOD” at my TV.

Clearly I’m excited about the new season.  If you’re already a fan then I’m sure you are too.  But it’s the people that aren’t watching that are the problem.  GOSSIP GIRL may be one of the most buzz worthy shows on TV but it doesn’t have the ratings to match the hype.  Let’s hope a few new eyeballs check out the show this season or it might be blog down for Gossip Girl.

Are you psyched for tonight?  Make sure you come back here to talk about the episode later tonight or tomorrow!

I watched all of season 1 yesterday. I didn’t expect to be as drawed in as I was. Truth be told, I only started watching because of my favorite teenage female detective doing the narration.

The show is surprisingly emotional, especially the episode with Eric and him being outed. If I had to pick a favorite pair, I’d say Chuck & Blair without a doubt.

I’m not sure when this show switched from being just bad to “so bad, it’s good” but sometime mid-way through last season this show just started to work for me. I agree completely about Chuck – how he switched from a rapist in training to being “the Chuck Bass” is just one of those TV mysteries.

I couldn’t have said it better myself, “I’m not sure when I went from loathing all things Chuck Bass to loving every nasty bit of him, but that boy owns me.”

I love all things Blair and Chuck and it seemed to come out of nowhere. Ed Westwick somehow makes Chuck seems so vulnerable and that it something that I certainly never would have imagined the character to be from the beginning of Season 1.

Loved the first episode! Can’t wait to see what is coming!

Alright, well I completely dropped all things CW after VM and GG were canceled. But I’d heard so many good things about Gossip Girl when it came back from the strike, that I decided to give it a try, so I watched what the cw website had and well, I’m a new pair of eyes for the show now. I was completely hooked. I’m so mad at myself!

I was just looking for this info for some time. After 6 hours of continuous Googleing, finally I got it in your web site. I wonder what’s the lack of Google strategy that don’t rank this type of informative websites in top of the list. Usually the top websites are full of garbage.
