Got Questions for the Cast of CHUCK?

September 16, 2009 by

Dan and I are heading over to set of CHUCK tomorrow. We know that Zac will be there, but we aren’t sure who else will be on set (sadly I already know that Ryan McPartlin won’t be there – sigh). Zac’s not going to be in scenes alone so I’m going to call for questions for the whole cast.

What questions do you want us to ask Zac and the cast of CHUCK?

Leave your questions before 12pm PST tomorrow.

My question is for any member of the cast.

?: What personality trait does your character posses that you wish you did as well.

    1. Has Chuck finally accepted his fate of becoming a hero once and for all or does he still want the “normal” life?

    2. Since Morgan and Chuck are now living together, will he ever suspect Chuck’s double life? And will there be more bromance?

    3. Will there be a change in the Chuck/Sarah relationship this season?

  3. Allan on September 16th, 2009 3:35 am

    anyone in the cast

How have your character developed so far this season?
Should we really have to be worried Sarah getting into another guy?

    For Zach & Yvonne:
The backlash from many core fans concerning the separation of Chuck & Sarah, coupled with the infusion of more outside romantic interests (love-geometric shapes), after ComiCon was (and still is) undeniable. Have either of you decided that fans tend to prefer being ASKED what they like about a show, rather than being TOLD what they like? Of course, this is in referenced to the interviews in which both actors proclaimed that the show’s fans enjoy the “2 steps forward, 3 steps back” teen angst between Chuck & Sarah (neither of whom have been teens for quite some time now).

Thanks for the opportunity. Hope you don’t mind me putting down so many!

I have arranged the questions in order of preference of being asked. Hopefully one or two of them will tickle your fancy.

    1) There were comments about there being a reboot period after a flash wears off.

Can you ask if that is true and how long will the window be when Chuck is defenseless or does it vary depending on how physical the flash was ie flashing on learning a new language has a shorter reboot time than that for Chuck-Fu?

Chuck being defenseless would be a great device to kick in Sarah’s protective streak.

    2) With Chuck being up front in the action will he be getting hurt more? And in not so easily concealable ways? Will Devon become the unofficial Team Bartowski doctor?

    3) What are the cast’s reactions to the scripts so far? Are they surprised at the character arcs that the cast have been given?

    4) How many episodes are Brandon Routh and Kristen Kruek in? Are their appearances consecutive or will they be spread out through the season?

    5) Is Kruek’s character Hannah, a preIntersect female version of Chuck ie she loses her job at a fashion magazine and ends up working at the BuyMore. Does
Chuck see himself in her? Are they kindred spirits?

    6) How far away will Ellie and Devon be living from Chuck?

    7) Are Chuck and Sarah maintaining a cover relationship?

    8) Is Chuck still working at the BuyMore? Casey too?

I would like to know what details of their backstories each character would like to know about and see revealed in the show. Or even what details of their backstories they might create when they play their characters.

    Thanks!

Here’s a question for guest star/new series regular Brandon Routh, how are you enjoying the role of Cole Barker 2.0, A/K/A Bryce Larkin 3.0?

OldDarth, some of your questions have already been answered publicly. Brandon Routh is in for at least 6 episodes. And yes, Chuck is back to working at the Buy More with Casey. Also, Chuck and Sarah will not be maintaining a cover relationship. As Josh has already stated at ComiCon, “They shall remain unrequited”.

I’m curious if anyone in the cast has noticed any discernible difference from the budget cuts, and if it’s hard to have to wait so long to either get started filming OR have to wait for your shows to air?

i’ve read that members of the cast occasionally burst into song. could there be a musical episode in the works? any plans for seeing more of jeffster?

This is more of a anyone/everyone question:

Its my understanding they’re currently shooting the fourth or fifth episode of the new season. From the actors’ perspective, What is the overall tone of the episodes? Are they seemingly more action-centric like the Orion arc in the second half of season 2 or more focused on character development, for example, introducing Jill, Sarah’s Dad, etc, or more light/comedy focused like the majority of season 1?

My second question is actually about the other questions the cast and writers have been receiving since Comic Con. What is the one question they wish they were being asked instead of all the questions about Chuck and Sarah?

  11. D.J. Mathis on September 16th, 2009 10:25 am

Do you feel it is important for fans to hear how Sarah feels about Chuck? Even if Chuck does not hear it (perhaps he is hurt, in hospital, coma etc…) We’ve heard Chuck’s feelings about Sarah many times but don’t you think it would be satisfying to fans to hear Sarah express how she feels about Chuck – even if they don’t get together this season?

  12. Nicole on September 16th, 2009 11:31 am

One of my favourite things about “Chuck” is all of the fabulous music in the show – I’ve discovered great bands like Frightened Rabbit, Bon Iver and Blitzen Trapper from watching the show. Do any of the cast members push for certain bands to be featured, or is it all the work of the genius music supervisor?

  13. Greg on September 16th, 2009 11:31 am

Just wondering 1 do you know when season 2 of chuck is coming out on DVD and 2 are you guys going to bring anybody from the first season back besides Corina say like Tommy the guy with the scar on his face.

  14. Zacfan on September 16th, 2009 12:03 pm

This question is for any cast member.
Have you ever had any bad experiences with the paparazzi? And if you became so famous you were followed everywhere by them would you reconsider being an actor?
Oh and good luck with the new season! Work hard and don’t forget to have fun!

  15. alan j on September 16th, 2009 12:15 pm

Wait are you guys going today on wednesday or tomorrow on thursday?

  16. BiLLi0 on September 16th, 2009 12:41 pm

    All members of the cast:

If “Chuck” never existed, where would you imagine yourself to be (and doing) right now?

*a picture of Sarah in her new working clothes would be appreciated* 😀

are they planning to promote CHUCK to other countries? if so where?
    thanks

I have two questions for any of the executive producers.

Chuck spent 5 years pining over a girl he couldn’t have, Jill Roberts. How many years do you anticipate Chuck will pine over the new girl he can’t have, Sarah Walker?

Also, on the official website ChuckMeOut, what were the final poll results for Chuck’s true love? Last I saw, Jill Roberts was tied with Sarah Walker.

  19. Alex on September 16th, 2009 4:03 pm

On the official NBC forum for the ChuckMeOut website, the topic of greatest interest/contention is the “Angst vs True Lies” thread. Aside from Alison’s video made shortly after ComiCon, is there anything at all any of you can say, any hope you can offer, to calm the rather heated and negative reactions from many of the fans posting there?

  20. steven on September 16th, 2009 5:10 pm

what power would u want chuck to learn if he gets another intersect in his head

  21. JReeds on September 16th, 2009 5:11 pm

Don’t know if multiple questions are okay, but if so, here’s a few more I came up with.

Josh or Chris, do you believe that Chuck’s demographic is similar to those of The O.C. and Gossip Girl?

For anyone who can answer, will we get to start seeing some comedy from both Ellie & Sarah? Seems like the lovely ladies of the show don’t get to exercise their comedy muscles at all.

To any writers or producers, will you be using Captain Awesome’s knowledge of Chuck’s secret as a way to introduce more angst into his marriage with Ellie?

  22. Bucko on September 16th, 2009 6:06 pm

I’d second the question about the great music. Who is it that should be recognized as the genius behind the marvellous choices?

Also, fans would love to see more interaction between the Sarah and Ellie characters (the few we’ve had have been fantastic and memorable)! Will there be more of those in season 3?

  23. Nick on September 16th, 2009 7:32 pm

In season 1 Sarah shoved her tongue down Bryce’s throat as she almost chose him over Chuck.

In season 2 Sarah shoved her tongue down Cole’s throat as she almost chose him over Chuck.

In season 3 with Shaw, Sarah will… well… we can guess.

Will Sarah’s wandering interest be a common theme for every season during the show’s series?

  24. Jenna on September 16th, 2009 10:28 pm

For the producers, each time Sarah gives Chuck another excuse as to why they can’t be together it seems like more and more fans become disinterested with the whole Charah relationship. Many seem to be pulling for Chuck to move past Sarah permanently and start a real relationship with pretty much any other woman.

Is it your intent to continue to phase out the Sarah character’s popularity? Or are there story arcs this season intended to repair some of the damage?

There a lot of these question that are answered at the comiccon 09 with the complet cast crew : go watch it on http://chucktv.net/category/appearances/comic-con-2009-appearances/

my question isn’t about chuck, but about zachary and yvonne’s relationship, because we are in many people that want to know if there is or was something between them in real life also if zach now is in love with catlin. if the response is not, personally i think they could be a great couple!!!
