THE OFFICE: John Krasinski, Angela Kinsey and Brian Baumgartner Tease The Second Half of Season 7

Michael Scott, Hollywood filmmaker?

It’s a scary thought, but THE OFFICE will reveal in an upcoming episode that Michael has finally made his beloved script, THREAT LEVEL MIDNIGHT.

When I recently caught up with series stars John Krasinski (Jim), Angela Kinsey (Angela) and Brian Baumgartner (Kevin), they dished on that, potential babies, the return of Roy and Karen and the possibility of Krasinski’s wife, Emily Blunt, appearing on the show.

Plus, the awesome cast had some special words for Give Me My Remote readers and our very own Kath Skerry…

John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are Married

Comments Off on John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are Married

Congratulations to THE OFFICE’s John Krasinski and his new bride, Emily Blunt.  The two were married on Saturday in a private, outdoor ceremony at the Villa D’este in Como, Italy.

“John and Emily were married on Saturday in a private ceremony,” Krasinski’s rep told US Magazine. Blunt wore a custom cream chiffon sweetheart draped Marchesa gown with embroidered detail.

“It was an outdoor ceremony and absolutely beautiful,” says an insider. George Clooney and Italian girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis were in attendance; Blunt and Krasinski had been staying at Clooney’s nearby Lake Como estate since the July 4th weekend.

John is the second OFFICE star to get married this month. His on-screen wife, Jenna Fischer, married writer Lee Kirk just last weekend. Yes, Jim and Pam are married in real life…we can stop the day dreaming.

For those of you who may be concerned about my emotional state, please know that I’m doing fine. It’s been a tough few days, but the worst of it is over. I’m doing my best to accept this union despite my obvious protests. Kidding, of course. John is a truly a wonderful guy and I wish him and Emily nothing but the best. (But if he wants to have a hot fling once a year, he has my phone number…just saying.)

John Krasinski & Emily Blunt Engaged!!

August 29, 2009 by
Filed under #1 featured, John Krasinski, The Office, TV News

Congratulations to THE OFFICE’s John Krasinski who recently became engaged to actress Emily Blunt.

And that’s that. Next story.

What?  Did you think I would have a reaction? Did you think I would be upset? Come on, what did you expect me to to do? Did you expect me to have a complete mental breakdown while driving down 95 South which resulted in me screaming at the top of my lungs and pounding on the steering wheel in protest?  Because really, if you were expecting that kind of reaction you really don’t know me to well.  Come on, people. Give me a little credit.  Something like that would never happen.  Ever. And if a certain fellow TV blogger and podcast partner who was with me all day in the car yesterday tries to tell you differently, well, he’s a liar.

I handled the news with dignity and grace. It’s not like I thought I was going to be marrying John Krasinski.  I mean that’s just crazy talk.  Nope, never once considered it.  Never daydreamed about it despite the way he looked deep into my eyes on the occasions we’ve been together.  Nope, never even thought about it.

In the words of a certain Regional Manager of a mid-size Pennsylvania paper company, “engaged ain’t married”.  And until the time the two of them walk down the aisle (excuse me I need just a minute…ok, I’m better now), John Krasinski still has his place at the top of my TV boyfriend list. After he’s married…well, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Congratulations to John and Emily.  I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting her but she seems just lovely. We all know what a fantastic guy John Krasinski is – just the nicest. Here’s to hoping they have a long and healthy life together.  Congrats!

(Oh and if by some off chance they end up getting married in John’s hometown of Newton, well they might want to ask the priest to leave out the “if anyone here objects part”. What? I can’t be responsible for my actions).

A first look at the ring…

John Krasinski on ‘Jimmy Fallon’

Ask and ye shall receive. By popular demand, here is John Krasinski’s appearance on LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON.  Enjoy!!

Jimmy Fallon, John Krasinski & Stephen Moyer Play Video Games

June 11, 2009 by
Filed under #1 featured, Jimmy Fallon, John Krasinski

I don’t know if many of you stayed up late to watch LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON last night, but if you didn’t you missed one hell of a funny show. Seriously, I laughed my ass off from beginning to end. Everything just clicked really well last night.

Jimmy’s two guests last night were John Krasinski of THE OFFICE (ever heard of him? Yeah, me neither) and Stephen Moyer of TRUE BLOOD. Both the interviews were laugh out loud funny, and I would have been happy if all three kept on talking all night. But they didn’t. Boys will be boys and these boys wanted to play some video games.

Microsoft’s Kudo Tsunado gives Jimmy, John and Stephen a demonstration of the new body-controlled video game system, Project Natal. No controllers – you just use your body to control the action of your avatar in the game.

Check out what happens when Jimmy, John and Stephen try it out. Funny stuff. I especially when Jimmy gets all excited and asks if he can borrow it for the night.

I’ll do my best to post the interviews with John and Stephen because I know fans of those shows will want to check it out. Not sure if I can get my hands on them though. We’ll see.

My Sunday Night with John Krasinski & Maya Rudolph – Boston Screening of “Away We Go”

Sometimes my life doesn’t suck.  Last night I attended the Boston premiere of Away We Go, the new indie romantic-comedy directed by Sam Mendes and starring John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph. And as luck would have it, the stars of the movie made a surprise appearance, along with writer Dave Eggers. Not a bad Sunday night.

Let me start out by saying the movie was fantastic. John and Maya, as Burt and Verona, take the audience on a beautiful adventure as they try to find a place to call home for them and their baby on the way. The movie is gorgeous and poignant, with a lot of laughter and joy. Krasinski and Rudolph both give amazing performances. Maya, who I hadn’t seen much of outside of SNL, was so ethereal and breath taking that she captured my attention and never let go. Not an easy task given my affection for her co-star.  As for Mr. Krasinski, well, this is the type of movie he should be doing.  I think he is a gifted actor who will be around for quite some time, but as we know he’s had a somewhat rocky transition to the big screen.  Give the right role he really has so much to offer.  With the risk of sounding condescending, I was so proud of him.

I’m not much of a movie critic and I don’t want to pretend to be, but I will say that personally I adored the movie and I’ll definitely be seeing it again in the theaters once it premieres on June 12th. I hope you’ll check it out too.

After the film, Rudolph, Krasinski and Eggers took the stage for a Q&A. Had I known this was happening I would have been better prepared.  No recorder or notebook at my disposal. And I’m sorry but when my favorite TV actor is sitting 10 feet away from me I can’t be relied upon to remember much of anything that was said.  Although I do recall being given the opportunity to ask the first question of the night.  I asked about Maya’s transition from SNL to this more subtle role.  And as a side I jokingly asked John if this role helped him to be more prepared for his role as expectant father on THE OFFICE.  John at first misinterpreted my question and thought I was asking if he was going to be an expectant father.  He said no but solicited volunteers from the audience (twice none the less).  One should not joke about such things in my presence.  I was about to jump on that stage.  Kidding of course…kind of.

[Here are a few pics & a super short video from last night. The theater was dark & the video on my camera wasn’t working.  Told you I wasn’t prepared.]

John Krasinski a ‘Scene-Stealer’ in AWAY WE GO

May 2, 2009 by
Filed under #1 featured, Away We Go, John Krasinski, SNL

You know we don’t talk movie that much here on GMMR. But when our faves hit in the big screen, there’s always an exception. For all you OFFICE/John Krasinski and SNL/Maya Rudolph fans, I wanted to share an excerpt from the New York Times piece: “Five Scene-Stealers to Watch“. It seems the Times really liked the performances from John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph in their upcoming movie “Away We Go”. I can’t wait to see it!!

“It’s a fascinating performance, because, like her character, she doesn’t come to us: we have to read her. By contrast, Mr. Krasinski’s shaggy Burt is a warm enthusiast, hoping for the best. At one point, he explodes at some truly terrible people, and Mr. Krasinski shows us a man so angry it makes him inspired, but, true to his character, never mean.

Most of all, though, Mr. Krasinski and Ms. Rudolph show us how they mesh — he buoys her, she grounds him. The result is one of the most credible couples ever to grace a movie screen. In the few scenes where Burt and Verona are apart, we wait to see them together because that’s when they each seem most whole.” Read the entire article here.

“Away We Go” will be opening in limted release beginning on June 5th but check in your area for other showtimes.  Visit the official site for more information.

AWAY WE GO Trailer – John Krasinski & Maya Rudolph

I’ve been waiting for this trailer for a long time now, and it’s finally here! THE OFFICE’s John Krasinski and SNL’s Maya Rudolph star in “Away We Go”, a new movie from Oscar Award winning director Sam Mendes. The movie follows a couple expecting their first child as they travel around the U.S. in order to find a perfect place to start their family.

The movie stars other TV notables including Allison Janney (The West Wing) and Jim Gaffigan (My Boys), as well as Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jeff Daniels and Catherine O’Hara.

The trailer certainly has a very JUNO’esque feel to it, but the movie looks like it could have a lot of humor and heart. I think it looks great and I’ll definitely be in line on opening day June 5th. Then again I am the same girl that took a half day on the opening day of “License to Wed” so take it for what it’s worth. But I this one will be a keeper.

Thanks to @ProgGrrl for the tip and FirstShowing.net for the trailer.

A completely self indulgent John Krasinski post. But to be fair, it’s been a while, hasn’t it? This time, it’s not just superfluous – John Krasinski will be a guest on THE TONIGHT SHOW tonight at 11:35pm on NBC. See, there was a point to my post, it’s just not all about posting hot pictures of Krasinski. But since you asked…

Despite being just a stone’s throw away from Sunday’s SAG Awards I sadly wasn’t able to see them as they don’t air live on the West Coast.  However, thanks to ALL* of you who emailed me, I was able to see what I can only guess would have been my favorite moment of the night.

Here’s John Krasinski and Amy Poehler’s bit before presenting Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

*I would normally post the names of the fine GMMR readers who sent along the link but since I received 26 emails about this same topic, I thought I would say a collective ‘Gracias’.
