After ROSEANNE’s spring success—and its star’s subsequent removal from the series due to racist tweets—a reboot of the revival is coming this fall to ABC.
Per the network, “after a sudden turn of events, the Conners are forced to face the daily struggles of life in Lanford in a way they never have before. This iconic family – Dan, Jackie, Darlene, Becky and D.J. – grapples with parenthood, dating, an unexpected pregnancy, financial pressures, aging and in-laws in working-class America. Through it all, the fights, the coupon cutting, the hand-me-downs, the breakdowns – with love, humor and perseverance, the family prevails.” THE CONNERS stars John Goodman (Dan), Laurie Metcalf (Jackie), Sara Gilbert (Darlene), Lecy Goranson (Becky), and Michael Fishman (D.J.).

ABC has officially ordered THE CONNERS, a spinoff of ROSEANNE, to series. The comedy will air Tuesdays at 8/7c this fall, taking the planned ROSEANNE time slot. (The original series was canceled following Roseanne Barr’s racist tweets; Barr will have no creative or financial involvement in the spinoff.)
