STRANGER THINGS season 4 is officially in production, and a familiar—quasi-presumed dead—face is at the forefront for the first tease: Hopper (David Harbour)!
“It’s not all good news for our ‘American’; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human…and other,” The Duffer Brothers teased in a release. “Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything….Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more. In the meantime — pray for the American.”

10 Favorite Pilots of the 2010s

Pilots…are tough. Shows have to introduce a world, characters, and, in theory, set up where the show will go in the first season. But when they’re done correctly? Boy, they can be magic.
As the decade comes to a close, we look back at some of our favorite pilots over the past ten years…*
AWAKE (March 1, 2012)
NBC’s midseason launch in 2012 was one of the most ambitious network swings of the decade—more on SMASH later—and AWAKE was arguably the biggest risk. Though the series ended up being short-lived, AWAKE didn’t play it safe: it followed Michael Britten (Jason Isaacs), a detective who found himself living in two realities after a devastating crash…one where his wife perished, the other where his son did. The pilot deftly handled the overlying grief, while engaging a WTF-is-going-on mystery. The always-great Isaacs was particularly great as the show’s linchpin.

More than a year-and-a-half after STRANGER THINGS last had new episodes, the Netflix drama is back on Thursday, July 4.
Per Netflix, “It’s 1985 in Hawkins, Indiana, and summer’s heating up. School’s out, there’s a brand new mall in town, and the Hawkins crew are on the cusp of adulthood. Romance blossoms and complicates the group’s dynamic, and they’ll have to figure out how to grow up without growing apart. Meanwhile, danger looms. When the town’s threatened by enemies old and new, Eleven and her friends are reminded that evil never ends; it evolves. Now they’ll have to band together to survive, and remember that friendship is always stronger than fear.”

The STRANGER THINGS kids are growing up…and growing apart?
Netflix finally released a trailer for the breakout show’s third season—which returns to the streaming platform on Thursday, July 4—and the group of friends aren’t exactly sitting in the basement playing games.
“The Duffer Brothers and Shawn Levy have worked really hard; they understand the stakes are high,” Cindy Holland, Netflix’s Vice President of Original Content said during her executive session panel at the Television Critics Association in 2018. “They really want to deliver something bigger and better than what they did last year. They really want to take the time to get it right.”

Comments Off on STRANGER THINGS Season 3 Teaser: Steve and Maya Hawke’s Robin Welcome Visitors to Hawkins’ New Mall
After STRANGER THINGS’ Hawkins, Indiana survived the Demogorgons, they’re due for some good news. Enter The Starcourt Mall!
In a new 80s-appropriate teaser, the video boasts the new mall has a Claire’s, Sam Goody, and The Gap. But Scoops Ahoy Ice Cream gets an extra bit of love in the promo: Steve (Joe Keery) is working there with Robin (STRANGER THINGS newbie Maya Hawke).
The video may also hint at when the third season of the drama returns. While the first season dropped in July, the sophomore year had an October bow. Though nothing official has been said—and there’s been no hint of a release date—the Starcourt Mall promo says it’s “coming next summer.” Hmmm…
