That record for longest-running primetime drama series isn’t getting taken away from LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT any time soon: the procedural has been renewed for a monster three additional seasons, through season 24.
The deal comes as uber producer Dick Wolf has signed a five-year deal to remain at Universal Television. (The CHICAGO trio also received a three-year renewal.) Read more

NBC has been promoting LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIM UNIT’s historic 21st season—which officially made it the longest-running primetime drama—with panels, a special, and big moves on-screen, but they aren’t looking at an end point to the long-running series any time soon.
