THE OFFICE Season 3 DVD Winners

September 6, 2007 by

THE OFFICE Season 3 DVDThere’s no doubt that GMMR readers are big fans of THE OFFICE. Last week we ran a contest to giveaway two copies of THE OFFICE Season 3 on DVD. Entrants were asked to post what they thought to me the funniest moment of Season 3. So many great moments were shared, it was like reliving the best parts of this past season all over again. (Click here to read all the great comments).

And the winners are…
Congratulations to Tracy H. of Chicago and David C. of Connecticut who were our big winners. They each will receive a copy of Season 3 of THE OFFICE on DVD.

Although I’ll admit I didn’t go through and tally up all the votes, it was easy to tell what most of you thought was the funniest moment of Season 3. Ladies and gentlemen, I present the winning moment…

Now on to the good stuff. For those who have already snagged your OFFICE DVDs let’s dish on your favorite moments. What did you love most about the bloopers, deleted scenes, commentaries, bonus features, etc?!

Note: I’m going to leave the comments open for now to discuss THE OFFICE. Out of respect, please don’t leave comments relating to the unfortunate separation of Jenna Fischer and James Gunn. All comments will be removed. Thanks – it’s just something I’m not interested in discussing on GMMR.

Thanks for posting that clip. That was a great way to start my boring work day. Congrats to the winners. I’m jealous!

I haven’t bought my DVD yet but I did see the bloopers on youtube. I love when Jenna tells John she loves him and he falls to the floor. So cute.

    DWIM! So funny.

Anyways, I am loving the DVD. The gag reel – Pam saying I love you, Jim with no pants, Pam advancing the Pam/Toby line, all hilarious.
I am just watching every second I have free time (right now I am watching TS/TR commentary)

    Its so awesome.

Although I will admit, I am a bit disappointed by the commentaries, I enjoyed S2 better.

i haven’t had time to go through all of the commentaries & deleted scenes & stuff like that yet, but so far, in the bloopers, i obviously LOVED when pam tells jim she loves him & he passes out…and for some reason, i busted out laughing when they showed all the times jenna sneezed. my favorite was definitely when kelly asked her something at the reception desk & she just gave her a “no” sign because she was about to sneeze, haha

I laughed a lot while watching the bloopers and deleted scenes, but probably my fave right now is Michael in The Job coming clean to Toby.
“there’s something I’ve always wanted to tell you. I hate you”
    and toby says “I know”.
    so great

The parts that have probably made me laugh the hardest (of what I’ve watched so far) are the blooper reel in its entirety, and in the commentary when Mindy starts asking Harold Ramis if he went to coke parties with Bill Murray, and B.J. is aghast. I was also particularly amused when Jenna was talking about how her talking head in Women’s Appreciation about how Roy would not have wanted her to see Jim’s…. made her feel weird, because it made her imagine John’s…. I felt incredibly awkward just listening to it, so I can’t imagine how she felt.

I spent the last two evenings watching my Office DVD’s…and I’m still not done!

Usually the commentaries and blooper reel are my favourites…but I wasn’t really happy with the commentaries. Jenna is by far the best, and she only did two. BJ was good, as was Rashida. John didn’t talk much – did anyone notice? And I hate to say it, but Leslie / Stanley was an awful commentator. So I was a little disappointed with those. Blooper reel was just alright I thought.

The biggest surprise for me were the deleted scenes! I thought we would have seen all of them…but there are SO many more! I especially love that there are whole story-lines that we didn’t get to see…like that Phyllis set up Angella at the wedding! Very funny.

Basically, I wish there was more Jenna in the commentaries, she seems to know what the fans want to know about the most.

I’ve watched all the commentaries and bloopers and am about 1/3 of the way through the deleted scenes. I have to say, the deleted scenes from “The Convict” were really good! I especially loved the added Jim/Pam/Andy moments. For an episode that wasn’t necessarily a favorite of mine, the deleted scenes made it so much better!

  9. Jenny L. on September 6th, 2007 11:59 am

Laura – I totally agree – how great was it in “The Convict” when Pam plays a prank on Jim using Andy, like he did to her!? So funny! The deleted scenes are great. I only wish there was an option to fit them into sequence with the actual episode, to get a director’s cut, or editor’s cut, etc. (There are also some great Karen/Jim deleted scenes from the early S3.)

  10. sabrina on September 6th, 2007 12:23 pm

There’s a deleted scene from “Cocktails” were Jim tells Pam not to go to the bar yet till he and Karen left and she replies “Yes, boss.” Jim made this face which made everything awkward and I didn’t understand it. Could someone explain what made it so awkward in that scene for me because I’m just so confused right now.

  11. Give Me My Remote on September 6th, 2007 12:32 pm

I think it just signified a changed relationship between Jim and Pam.

  12. CrazyGringa on September 6th, 2007 1:14 pm

My best friend and I took Tuesday off so we could watch all of the extras on the DVD. I have to say that I loved the little exchange Jim and Pam had in The Convict deleted scene where she tells him “Effay Offay”. I thought that was the cutest. I also really loved the deleted scene from Back From Vacation where Ryan shows the photoshopped picture that Michael created of them two on and Egyptian vacation. So funny. Let’s see what else? Oh on The Coup deleted scenes when Michael says something like “His ass is grass and I’m the lawnmower”. Definatly going to steal that one.

I enjoyed the bloopers, of course, and I always enjoy the commentaries. I liked the ones that had the writers on them the best because we get that extra little insight. Plus I always love Jenna’s commentaries because she always has something funny/interesting to say. I was a little dissapointed that John didn’t say much on The Job commentary though.

  13. Olivia on September 6th, 2007 4:51 pm

Loved the blooper reel. My favorite part is dancing Jim when he’s standing behind Karen and says something like “can you deal with this Pam?”

Also loved the deleted scenes — so many!

Disappointed in the commentaries. Not enough John and too much Melora and Leslie. Jenna does the best commentaries!

  14. Maria on September 6th, 2007 7:49 pm

I agree with all the comments about the commentaries. I was really sad there wasn’t more of John and Jenna…b/c not only do I love them on the show…but, I think they do a good job with the commentaries. I like when the commentaries offer insights about how the actors were feeling, or what got cut, or other ways that they staged the scenes….but, I felt like these commentaries just sort of rambled on and on. I actually wish there had been more of Melora. On the Season 2 commentaries I thought she did a fantastic job of pointing out special moments in the show and you could tell she watched the show as a real fan, and not just as another actor.

But, absolutely loved the Blooper reel…and the deleted scenes are fantastic. I can’t believe there is that much extra! I think my favorite one (which was on the website too) was of Michael and Stanley eating their pretzels together, or when Stanley yells at Ryan yet again for hitting on his daughter. 🙂

My favorite line from the deleted scenes? “Phyllis neglected to mention your promiscuity.” I loooooved that. They did an amazing job with the deleted scenes on the DVD. There was just so much to love. I agree completely about the commentaries; Season 2 was the best by far. I love when Rainn says something about only seven people watching the commentaries, he is just wrong about that. I wish there had been more, and with additional people. There was so much I was hoping would come out in them.

  17. Katie on September 8th, 2007 2:55 pm

Did anyone else find Melora annoying on the commentaries? I find her rather arrogant. All she wants to talk about is herself and the scenes that she is in.
I don’t know…maybe it’s just me. I also wish Steve Carrell would take some part in the DVD process. It’s like he’s too big to do commentaries now.
I did love the blooper reel. Loved the Pam sneezes too!!
