Q&A with BJ Novak from The Office - Coming Soon

On the heels of our exclusive interview with John Krasinski & Jenna Fischer, I am thrilled to announce that GiveMeMyRemote.com will be chatting it up with another star of The Office very soon.

BJ Novak, who plays Ryan Howard (aka the Temp & the Fire Guy), has kindly agreed to a little Q&A , GMMR style. For those of you who don't know, in addition to playing Ryan, BJ is also one of the head writers for the show. He has penned instant classics such as "Diversity Day" and "The Fire". This is going to be a great opportunity to get more of a behind-the-scenes glimpse into one of the best shows on TV today.

If you have a question you want me to ask BJ, head over to the GMMR forums and ask away.

This is all happening pretty soon, so get in your questions before it's too late.

The Return of The Amazing Race

The Amazing Race is my favorite of all the reality shows. That's why I was so disappointed this past year when the did the The Amazing Race: Family Edition of the show. It just didn't have to drama and suspense that makes the show worth watching. But I am so excited to report that The Amazing Race is back in February for it's 9th season.

If you haven't caught the show, believe me, it's worth it. Yes, it's reality, but it's reality at its best.
The season premiere is Tuesday, February 28th at 9pm (est). Check out the TAR Season 9 Racers here. Who will be the first team of racers to be PHILliminated?

Dancing with the Stars Weekly Recap

The ousting of Master P, the legs of Lisa Rinna, and the kick ass dancing of Drew Lachey. It was all a part of this week's Dancing with the Stars. If you missed the ep, fear not, Give Me My Remote has a recap of this ep, below.

And if you missed Drew's dance, check out the video below. It's not the best quality, but hey, if you cared that much you would have just watched the show live, right?

Thanks to our friends over at Tabloid Whore for sharing their weekly recaps with us...you rock!
Well, the results show has also aired, so by now you all know that Master P is over and done with. I have to say that as much as I gave him props for stepping up his game, it was time for to say goodbye. He did a nice job this week, but in my opinion, the best part was not his dancing, but the video from his visit to Ashley's home town. Best PP quote from the clip: “"You are real Mormon? Nice to meet you my brother!” So long P, you done your peeps in the hood proud."

OK, everyone else on the show was really good, there were no real stinkers of the evening. The couples had to chose between the Pasa Doble or the Fox Trot. Lisa Rinna was on crazy fire doing the Pasa Doble, that girl is fierce! Once again, she tries the more challenging dance of the two and kicks ass (and I swear I’m not just saying that to try and get a discount at her boutique).

Tia Carrare did a lovely, elegant job at the Fox Trot, but ended up in the bottom two.

George Hamilton did a hilarious rendition of the Pasa Doble, but did more a flashback to his days from “Zorro The Gay Blade,” than actual dancing.

Stacey Kiebler was great as usual, I loved her purple dress, not to mention, that bitch still has the best abs on the planet.

Oh, and my dear Jerry Rice was smooth as chocolate milk with his Fox Trot and I loved watching the clips of him taking ballet classes. Also, Jerry knows how to rock the suit. Delightful.

Alright, so you knew it was coming. How SPECTACULAR was Drew Lachey this week? I mean really, I’m trying not to sound like a 13 year old girl every recap, but c’mon. The guy is Just. So. Good!!! Drew did the Pasa Doble to the music of MJ’s “Thriller” and I gasped when the song started and he did that wild cape spin. The choreography for the dance was the best I have ever seen in both seasons of the show…hello? Who would think to throw in moves from the Thriller video in the middle of the dance? That man is simply, electrifying!!! Just when I thought it couldn’t get more exciting, they showed hunkalicious brother Nick Lachey in the audience again with Drew’'s wife Lea. Nick always looks so proud of Drew and his performance every week and I love that he keeps coming to watch his brother. So yes, once again I’'m crowning Drew Lachey with the best performance of the week.

I’m hoping for a Lachey/Rinna finale, but that Kiebler woman might mess up my plans. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

ABC Anchor Bob Woodruff Injured in Iraq

ABC World News Tonight co-anchor Bob Woodruff and cameraman Doug Vogt, were seriously injured Sunday in an attack and explosion while reporting from Iraq. The two journalists were traveling with U.S. and Iraqi troops near Taji, about 12 miles north of Baghdad, when an improvised explosive device went off, ABC News President David Westin said. Both suffered serious injuries and were taken into surgery at a U.S. military hospital in the area, the network said.

CNN has full coverage of this story here.

Tom Brady on The Family Guy

Since my Patriots didn't make the Super Bowl this year, it's going to be quite a few Sundays until we get to see that Pats again. At least we don't have to wait that long to see QB Tom Brady on the small screen...well kinda. An animated version of the hottest QB in the NFL will appear in this Sunday's episode of The Family Guy.

In the ep, Peter Griffin attends a high school reunion during which he meets Tom Brady. Tom sees something in Peter and gets him assigned to an NFL team. Peter's NFL run gets the Griffin's some media attention and money. Hilarity ensues.

Tom Brady is becoming the MVP of animation (ouch). You might remember that last year, Brady appeared on an episode of The Simpsons.

Is it wrong that I even find Tom Brady hot when he's a cartoon?

Matthew Perry Back on TV in SNL Inspired Drama

Chandler is coming back to TV. And no, he's not guesting on Joey (thank god). Friends star Matthew Perry has just signed on to star in a new drama from Aaron Sorkin, the creator of The West Wing. Perry will join D.L. Hughley and Steven Weber in the show which is set behind the scenes at a fictional long-running sketch-comedy show (hmm, what could that be?).

Getting Perry wasn't all that easy. The negotiations took some time, and reports had surfaced not too long ago that Perry was out, and that former Wings star, Steven Weber, was set to play the lead.

The project, previously known as Studio 7 reunites Perry with Sorkin after the actor's guest stint on The West Wing earned him Emmy nominations in 2003 and 2004. Sorkin has said that he wrote the lead part on this new project with Perry in mind.

One of my favorite people on Earth, Bill Simmons (ESPN) had this to say about the show formerly known as Studio 7:

"I received a copy of Aaron Sorkin's spec script, "Studio 7" -- his secret project that caused near-chaos in Hollywood when he suddenly started shopping it a few weeks ago. Everyone loved it, everyone said great things, and after reading it ... I couldn't agree more. It's already my new favorite show even though they haven't started casting it yet -- like "Larry Sanders," only if it was about "SNL." In a viciously clever way, Sorkin's pilot script pretty much obliterates SNL and everything that happened to the show over the past few years, as well as TV networks and the post-Janet Jackson/FCC Era in general. It's a masterpiece. It's perfect. I can't say enough about it. When this show debuts next year (or whenever), it will be impossible to take SNL seriously anymore. I'm telling you."

You gotta love that Matthew Perry is giving TV another shot. After seeing his friends Matt LeBlanc (Joey) and Lisa Kudrow (The Comeback) get beat down on their first post-Friends projects, he could have easily said no. Welcome back Matthew!! Could I BE more excited?

Someone at UPN is in Trouble with Me

If you've been here before then you know how I LURVE Veronica Mars. Wednesday was the first new episode in a long time. I've been counting down to the event for a long time. Well wouldn't you know it, but the Boston UPN afflilate decided to show a college basketball game rather than Veronica Mars. Supposedly they are going to replay the ep on Saturday, but I don't know for sure.

Can you believe this?! I wish VM was available for download on iTunes. Rob Thomas, can you get on that? Thanks.
I was just wondering how I am to avoid all talk of Wednesday's ep until Saturday. No message boards? No talking to friends? This is horrible.

And to Rob, I am very bitter against your stupid BC Eagles right now.

The WB & UPN to Become One Network

Starting next fall some of our favorite shows will be living on the same network. It was announced today that The WB and UPN will come together into a new network dubbed CW. Dawn Ostroff, currently president of UPN, will become president of entertainment, and John Maatta, currently chief operating officer of the WB, will become chief operating officer of the CW. Let's just hope that Mr. Maatta loves Veronica Mars as much as Ostroff.

No Truth to Friends Reunion

There were rumors circulating all over the web today about a possible Friends reunion. Sites such as Hollywood.com reported that Jennifer Aniston and the rest of the Friends cast recently inked multi-million dollar deals to reprise their roles in 4 specials that were to air next year. But a spokesperson for Warner Bros told Give Me My Remote that there is not truth to that rumor at all.

I'm sure we will see a Friends reunion someday. But the show just ended.. I haven't had time to really miss it. And I'm still getting over the garbage that is was Joey.

The Office to End Season Early..John Krasinski, it's Time to Drink

I'm sad. I just got confirmation that The Office will be ending their season in March. The show is ending earlier than most network shows to accommodate the shooting schedule of Steve Carrell's upcoming movie Evan Almighty. I'm excited for Steve but sad to have to go so long without seeing my new favorite show. But at least we know the show is coming back. It's been picked up for a full 22 episodes next season.

The silver lining? Since the cast will break early, there's a chance that John Krasinski will be home to visit his family, and maybe we can finally grab that beer.

Drew Lachey: Cutest Lachey Since Nick

Did you miss this week's Dancing with the Stars? Well thanks to our friends over at Tabloid Whore here's your chance to catch up. But before we get into TW's recap, can I just say that I am lurving Drew Lachey more and more every week? When he's dancing I just sit back and enjoy the performance. He's that good. I hope he continues to do well, and that the fans at home voting stay with him.

Jerry Rice: That man has some really long ass legs. I loved the purple outfits and thought he and his partner did a great job at the Jive. The judges were way too hard on him. Bastards!

Giselle Fernandez:
Meh. I was bored. She did the tango. More importantly, can anyone remember if many years ago Giselle dated someone from one of the high profile court case like the OJ trial or something? Me and fab reader Della have been racking our brains for over a week now trying to remember who it was and we have come up with nothing. It's driving us crazy, can anyone help us out?

Drew Lachey: OMG, can I say it again? Will someone please give this man the trophy already? By far the best "star" in the dancing competition. It was great to see cutie brother Nick in the audience again and also Drew's wife Lea! She's pregnant and I always liked her when she'd pop up on Newlyweds. Drew and partner Cheryl did the Jive, but in the future, cutie might want to not put his arms around her so much afterwards, those bear hugs didn't seem to make Lea look very happy!

George Hamilton: How can you not like George Hamilton? Aside from being my dad's favorite, George is such a trooper and the man can make me laugh. Even better than his dance was the clip of him driving around Los Angeles trying to convince people to vote for him. The scene in the senior citizens home was priceless. George did the Tango and I actually thought he was really good and moved smoooooth like Michael Jackson in his heyday.

Lisa Rinna: First off, please give my girl Lisa major props for being the only woman "star" of the evening to dance the Jive. Seriously, I thought she did such a great job and I'm happy the judges were nice to her. Loyal husband Harry Hamlin was in the audience again (what a guy!). Ok, so I've been quiet about this long enough....I love Lisa, but those lips! They are waaaaay too big! The top is never supposed to be bigger than the bottom one, oh dear, I can't stop staring at them. She definitely also visited the mystic tan before the show. It made me sad for her when they showed her crying during rehearsal. Ryan Seacrest said on his radio show today that he thought she might of been faking it, but I believe her!

Stacy Kiebler: Stacy did the Tango. I walked out of the room when she was on so I don't have much commentary for her...but what I saw was good as usual. (GMMR: I thought Stacy was good, but the dance lacked a certain something. She was so intense that she almost looked pissed. But she's a great dancer and that can't be ignored.)

Master P: OK, first off...why isn't Master P's son Romeo ever in the audience? You would hope that after his dad said he would fill in for him on the show, that Romeo would go and support his pops, injured or not. I thought it was cute in rehearsal when P was saying, "I'm not a bad guy." P started off his routine a bit wobbly and still didn't wear proper shoes. But all of a sudden about a third of the way through, P just kicked it into high gear and was Jiving up a storm. I was really proud of him and loved how happy he looked afterwards. Damn those judges for giving him bad marks and crushing his dreams! Rude! Master P looked so hurt. Although, I gotta say...I don't think we are done with him yet.

Tia Carrere: Oh Tia did a wonderful, passionate, Tango. She really was lovely, but at this point, I was ready for the show to be over. An hour and a half was just too freakin' long. Not to mention, I was forced to tape The O.C. and miss Marissa's slutty little sister coming back into town because of it!

And if you missed the results show...
Giselle went home although we all know that it should have been Master P. When are people going to STOP voting for him?! I think it's so unfair to the others.

Bringing the Bling in The OC?

It seems that love is the air...especially when you are co-stars on the same show. As we just reported, rumors are flying that Dom Monaghan & Evangeline Lilly who play Charlie & Kate on Lost got engaged. Now there are reports that another on-screen/off-screen pairing might be getting engaged.

According to People Magazine, Adam Brody who plays Seth on The OC, was overheard last week telling celebrity jeweler Sol Rafael that he'd be in touch. Brody, has been a serious relationship with his on-screen girlfriend, Rachel Bilson (Summer Roberts) for the past few years. Rachel was right there when Adam was talking to Rafael, but when she turned away, Rafeal whispered to Adam to give him a call if he ever wants to get her something. Adam supposedly winked in response and told the jeweler that he'd get his from email from friend Joel Madden. Madden worked with Rafael earlier in the year when he bought his girlfriend, Hilary Duff, a 7-carat diamond cross necklace.

I am so ready for a Newpsie wedding! I hope this one is true. Adam & Rachel are adorable together...on and off screen.

Dominic & Evangeline Engaged?

AllThisNonsense.com is reporting that stars of ABC's Lost, Dominic Monaghan (Charlie) & Evangeline Lilly (Kate) are engaged. If the reports are to be believed, Dom proposed last week in Hawaii, and Evangeline said "yes! yes! yes!"

It might be a while before get confirmation on this news from the stars themselves. Both Monaghan & Lilly have kept their relationship hush hush since they first started dating more than a year and a half ago.

If this is true, we ate Give Me My Remote wish the couple the best!

Earl & The Office Are Coming Back in '06-'07

We've got some fantastic news to report today. Fans of two of the best comedies on TV, My Name is Earl and The Office will be happy to hear that both these shows have been picked up for a full season (22 episodes) for the '06-'07 season. NBC President, Kevin Reilly made the announcement today.

"The strength of the ratings and performance and the quality of these two shows make this a very easy decision," said Reilly. "We are confident that these comedies will only continue to increase in popularity."

Unfortunately, long time fan favorite, The West Wing will be ending its seven year run in May. NBC has said that fans will indeed know who succeeds President Jed Bartlett (Martin Sheen), although the new Prez will have a short run.

Thanks to Brian Baumgartner from The Office for alerting me to the news. And Brian, I'm so glad you like my site. Such a thrill that you've stopped by!

Desperate Housewives: The Musical

Are we going to hear more than bitching and cackling coming from Wisteria Lane? It seems so. According to InTouch, Teri Hatcher is scheduled to show her vocal prowess when her character, Susan, gets a job singing in a bar on an upcoming ep of Desperate Housewives. To prepare for her role, Hatcher has been working with voice coach, Seth Riggs. And an onset sources say Teri has been giving private concerts to her colleagues.

Now this isn't necessarily going to be as horrible as it might sound. Teri Hatcher has done some singing in her day. Just a few years ago, Hatcher starred in the touring production of Caberet. Yours truly actually saw her in the show when it came to Boston. Of course back then she was just the chic that use to be on Lois & Clark. But I don't remember being horrid. I think I was actually pleasantly surprised.

Not sure when these "musical" eps are going to air, but I'll make sure to give you a heads up. I mean, if she's horrible I want to make sure you are all watching it so we can tear her apart after the show. I kid. I kid.

BREAKING NEWS: EARL SHUT DOWN

Source: Watch with Kristin

The Beek Has Been Spotted

The ever elusive Beek has been spotted and captured in this rare shot. Yes, James Van Der Beek himself is in Utah for The Sundance Film Festival. Does this mean we are going to see Dawson Leery on the big screen again sometime soon? Well according to iMDB, James is currently filming a flick called The Plague. But James isn't there to pimp his own film, he's there to support wife Heather McComb. Her movie, Steel City, is premiering at Sundance.

I wonder how often the Beek has been asked about TomKat since his arrival in Utah. Ha ha...we all know much the Beek LOVES talking about his days on The Creek.

Thanks to Perez Hilton for the pic.

A LOST Revelation??

Here's a little something for all you Lost fanatics out there.

In this past week's episode, during Jack's flashback, they show him looking at the X-Rays of the man he is going to operate on. If you have HDTV, you might have noticed that the X-Rays have a date on them. November 16, 2005. What?! Huh?!

So were the producers of Lost trying to give us a little hint as to the Lost timeline or was it just an oversight by some PA who is about to get fired, Trump style? I'm hard pressed to believe that anything on Lost is accidental. They are too good for that. But if that date were accurate, then we have to believe that the plane crashed on the Island of Doom sometime in the future, right? But how far into the future are we talking? A year? A week? A month? Damn you Lost people...like we don't have enough to ponder already!

If you missed the ep you need to get caught up ASAP. Check out the Lost recap by our very own, world famous recapper, Fatback.

Someone Give Ellen Pompeo a Big Mac

I've noticed that over the course of this past year that Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo has become the incredible shrinking surgical intern. But now she is starting to look scary. The other night I was watching Grey's with two of my girlfriends, and we all gasped everytime they showed a full body shot of Meredith. It was disturbing. To be honest, she's in scrubs and a lab coat so much that it's hard to tell, but the shots of her outside of the hospital, in her everyday clothes, well it's all a little revealing.

I couldn't find the right pictures to illustrate my point, but I think these work well enough. The first shot is of Ellen take right before the premiere of Grey's Anatomy. And the 2nd one was taken recently. It's not just her figure...check out her eyes, her skin.

It's Time To Do Some Shopping

Veronica Development? Arrested Mars?

The following contains spoilers from an upcoming episode of Veronica Mars. Continue at your own risk.

Two of the best shows on TV are colliding, and in a kickass way. Rob Thomas, creator of Veronica Mars, revealed last night that Michael Cera and Alia Shawkat who play George Michael and Maeby on Arrested Development will be guesting on an upcoming episode of Veronica Mars. Thomas, who was careful not to reveal too much, did tell Now Playing Magazine that Cera and Shawkat will appear in the same episode, but NOT as their Arrested characters. Nor will they be playing cousins. We do know that they both will be playing a bit older, as Thomas has said they will play college freshman.

These are two of my favorite shows on TV, so this should be a fun episode.

American Idol Celebrates Suckiness

So I watched the season premiere of American Idol last night. I'm not a huge fan of the early eps of each season. Believe it or not, I actually like when they focus on the people that CAN sing. It's all I can do not to turn the channel when the crazy people are auditioning. It's SO uncomfortable to watch, and I feel bad for them. Not all of them. But those who really think they can sing.

I remember a few seasons back reading an article written by someone who went through the audition process. This person was horrible, and was fully aware of his lack of talent, but was determined to see just how far he could get. He came up with some shtick to get noticed by the preliminary judges. And much to his surprise, despite his suckitude, he made it all the way to see Paula, Randy & Simon. But before making it to the Power of Three, he auditioned in front of at least 3 different sets of preliminary judges. Each panel encouraged his talent, and told him to be more memorable. This ultimately set him up for him humiliation on national TV. But at least this guy was in on it. He knew he was bad and how he was being manipulated. But others don't, and those are the people I feel for.

The freaks that come in costumes and those who bring the bizarre, well they deserve the humiliation, and to be honest, that's probably why they auditioned in the first place. But for the innocent victims, those who are told time and time again that they have what it takes to be the next American Idol...well my heart goes out to them.

Other random thoughts about last night...
I loved how Seacrest tried to imply that auditioning for Idol was akin to other rights of passage such as the prom and graduating high school. Um, you are a talent show on Fox, get over yourselves!

I had nightmares about the TANtastic chic who auditioned near the end of the show. The one whose mother was even more slutty and scary than she was. Remember her? Yeah, I think if Paris Hilton were broke, she'd be that girl.

Simon wants so badly for a crooner to win this competition. Redheaded John a few years back, and the 17 year old Frank Sinatra impersonator from last night. Paula & Randy had a point. Simon is just going to cut him for his lack of range and originality once they get to Hollywood.

Do twins have to audition together? Is it the American Idol law? There always seems to be some criticism with twins. Usually about whether or not they can succeed on their own. Just strange that twins always seems to audition together.

Why are we subjected to hours of BAD auditions, but yet we aren't shown the people that actually made it? My bleeding ears need a break every once in a while.

Anyone else feel creepy when (a) hot guys enter the room and the camera zooms in on Paula, or (b) when any guy - hot or not - sings to Paula? Do I have to remind you of the Cold Hearted Snake that was Corey Clark? Straight Up Paula...Rush, Rush to avoid the male contestants like the plague!!! (ok, i'm done now Paula, I don't want to you to be mad. I just want to be Forever Your Girl).

I personally can't wait for the episode when they show the Boston auditions. I can't help but wonder if someone I know secretly tried out. Oh wait, my friends are probably too old to even audition.

OK, I'm done. I've created an American Idol thread in the forums to spare you from anymore of my nonsensical rants.

For an AWESOME recap of last night's episode, head over to the best new American Idol site, Idol Chatter.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW with the Stars of "The Office"

Today is a big day for Give Me My Remote. Today marks what we hope to be the first of many exclusive interviews with the stars of your favorite TV shows. What makes this event extra special for me personally is that these actors happen to be from one of my favorite TV shows, The Office.

First off, if you aren't watching The Office, then you are missing out of one of the smartest and funniest shows on TV today. This ensemble cast, lead by Golden Globe Winner Steve Carrell (The 40 year old Virgin), brings us a unique and hilarious glimpse into the world of the often mundane corporate America.

Two of the standout characters on The Office are Pam Beesely, the warm hearted office receptionist, and Jim Halpert, the young sales rep with an unrequited crush on his co-worker Pam. Fans of The Office have really responded to the office flirtation and obvious unspoken connection between Pam and Jim; a relationship which brings depth and warmth to this hysterical sitcom.

Jenna Fischer, who portrays Pam, and John Krasinski, who plays Jim, were kind enough to grant Give Me My Remote an exclusive interview. Jenna and John give us a behind the scenes look at one of today's hit shows, as well a little insight into their characters. And we also get to know a little more about Jenna and John, off-camera.

On a personal note, I wanted to take a moment to thank Jenna and John for taking the time to answer our questions. It's not often you find actors so accessible to their fans. And as a true fan of the show, it's been a special experience connecting directly with the actors I watch on TV every week. Enjoy!

Give Me My Remote (GMMR): We all know that Pam and Jim are based on the characters Dawn and Tim from the BBC version of The Office. What characteristics of Dawn and Tim, if any, did you consciously bring to your characters?

JENNA: I love the British version of the show and I think that Lucy Davis is just brilliant as Dawn. I love how honest she is in her performance. That was an inspiration. I’ve tried very hard to make Pam her own woman. There are similarities, sure, because the premise of our show is based on the British version. I’m excited because I feel like the writers have done a great job of writing these characters for the American actors and giving us unique qualities that are different from the British version.

JOHN: Well, after taking a very deep breath to calm my nerves, I tried to understand Jim’s situation first and foremost. Martin Freeman did a perfect job, there’s no other way to say it. So I tried to focus less on the things he did that made me laugh and pay more attention to what would someone do if faced with the situation that Jim is in. Unrequited love can be incredibly painful and the office jokester is lots of fun. So I had plenty to start with.

GMMR: Not sure if you've heard, but Pam and Jim fans have created a new moniker for the couple, a la Bennifer and Brangelina. Your characters are affectionately known as "Jam". So tell us, are the writers responding to the buzz that Jam is getting? Are the storylines shifting to focus more on this relationship?

JOHN: I think the relationship in the office has been an interesting story to follow from the beginning. I can’t give the writers enough credit for how incredibly realistic they have been with this storyline. It’s an incredibly difficult thing to balance and they have dealt with it with such care and subtlety it’s been amazing. And I think the reason for seeing more and more of the relationship on screen is that the documentary film crew in the show are now aware of the love interest and therefore paying more attention with the cameras.

JENNA: We try to keep it interesting. Not too much Jam, not too little. I’m rooting for them to get together just like everyone else. But I try to be patient. I want it to be realistic which means I think it will take awhile.

GMMR: We know that the "ah's" and "um's" are scripted, but what about all the little side glances at the camera when you are in the background of a scene. Or when your characters are caught in those "damn I forgot the camera was there" moments. Jim seems to have quite a few of these.

JENNA: Many of those are scripted as well. As we rehearse, we find little moments that we think are authentic to our characters and we pitch the idea to the director. For example, if Dwight is being an ass, it is pretty certain that Jim and Pam will share a look about it. As far as the “damn I forgot about the camera” moments. Many of the scenes are scripted as“Spy Shots”. That means that the characters don’t know they are being filmed. We all act differently when we know we are being filmed or when we don’t. If they want us to realize we’ve been caught on camera in a sensitive moment, they will put that in the script too.

JOHN: Yup, the writers strike again. Most of those looks are written into the script. But it is a lot of fun to play around with them. They somehow still feel as though we, the characters, organically found the moment. And when there is that opportunity to throw an impromptu look to the camera and it works, it’s exciting. I’m lucky to have a few of them in every episode.

GMMR: What has been your favorite on-screen and off-screen moments so far?

JENNA: My favorite on-screen moment has to be when John and I filmed our dinner scene on the roof during The Client. There was a very small crew up on the roof and they had the cameras really far away. There was a warm breeze and Rainn and Brian were off in the distance setting off really lame fireworks. The whole thing just felt magical. I also love anytime I get to do a party planning scene. Angela, Phyllis and Kate are all so funny. We laugh a lot during those scenes. They are so subtle and passive/aggressive. I love it! My favorite off-screen moment is probably our weekly viewing parties. We have such a great time watching the show together. We cheer for the writer and congratulate cast members for particularly funny bits in the show. Oh, runner-up for best off-screen moment would be how much John made us all laugh when we were filming The Fire. We had to stand outside in the heat for hours but he made us laugh by doing imitations of Angela getting carried away by a giant bug. It was pretty great.

JOHN: Wow. Great question. I’d have to say off the top of my head, my favorite on screen moments both happened in the ‘Booze Cruise’ episode. Shooting those scenes with Jenna and Steve was nothing short of an honor. I had such a blast working on such beautiful scenes with those two.

Off screen, my favorite moments have definitely been just sitting around with the cast on the set. Man, it’s been such a blast to not only work with these people, but to be able to hang out and make up ridiculous bits and jokes? I mean, it’s the best!

JENNA: I have to add that scene from Booze Cruise with John. That was amazing. I agree. And, I watched John and Steve shoot their scene on the Booze Cruise and it made me cry. It was beautiful.

GMMR: Who from The Office is the funniest person in real life, when the cameras stop rolling?

JENNA: That is an interesting question. Steve is the funniest person to do a scene with. He makes me laugh until I cry quite often. I am always ruining takes when I film with Steve. John is the funniest on set. He tells stories and entertains the cast and crew the most I think. Rainn is funniest at a party. He’s really smart and quick-witted. Paul, Mindy and B.J. are also super-funny. Especially if you put them in a group and get them going. I am a good laugher….which is perfect because these guys have me laughing all the time.

JOHN: Well, Steve is like a loaded gun. If he chooses to, he has the capability to knock you on the ground laughing. It’s amazing! But as I was saying before, each cast member brings their own vibe and antics to the set. You’re constantly surrounded by fun loving people who can make you laugh in their own way. For instance, I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard playing video games with Brian, who plays Kevin.

JENNA: Oh yeah. Watching John and Brian play video games is the best.

GMMR: We know that BJ Novak is a writer for the show. Do any of the other actors have any influence on the storyline?

JOHN: I think one of the coolest things about the job is the level of trust we have for each other. The actors fully trust that the writers will write amazing episodes, and the writers trust that the actors will follow their instincts with the characters. So we’re often asked our opinions on what we think of a joke or a moment. Is it funny? Is it believable? What do we think should happen? That’s a very rare environment for actors to be in. It’s great!

JENNA: The actors are always pitching little ideas and jokes but I think the writers mostly just smile and nod. They are pretty amazing and don’t need our help. Sometimes they come to us and ask what we think our character would do in a certain situation. I love that. And, Mindy (who plays Kelly) and Paul (who plays Toby) are writers for the show too.

GMMR: Jenna, why do you think Pam stays with Roy? After a three year engagement, many women might have cut their losses and moved on.

JENNA: Pam has been with Roy for over 10 years. They were high school sweethearts. Roy is really the only boyfriend Pam has ever had. He is secure and trustworthy and very, very, predictable. Pam likes these things. That is a lot of history to just throw away. When I try to understand why she doesn’t break up with Roy, I always imagine what her life must be like outside of the office. She is tight with Roy’s family and he is tight with hers. Roy goes to her Dad’s house to help fix things while Pam and her Mom go shopping at the outlet mall. They probably BBQ with the family on the weekends. Roy’s brother has a kid that Pam is really close to and who calls her Aunt Pam. Stuff like that. I just keep waiting for Pam to get the courage to be uncertain about things. I want her to pursue her passion of illustrating and to realize that she deserves more than just reliability from a relationship.

GMMR: John, our readers are dying to know...what did Jim write in the card to Pam, and what's the significance of the pencil?

JOHN: Wow. That was a cool scene. I don’t think I can tell you exactly what was written on the card. But I will say that when Jim said “X-mas is the time to tell people how you really feel”… I think he meant that! And the pencil… That’s funny. That was a mini golf pencil that Pam threw at Jim (in jest). I guess Pam’s a sore loser.

GMMR: Can you tell us a little something about what it was like to film the scene on the deck in ep “The Booze Cruise”? It was a unique TV experience to have 27 seconds of silence. What kind of direction did you both receive? It was some fantastic acting.

JENNA: Thanks! We talked with the director (Ken Kwapis) and our producer (Greg Daniels) about all of the things you can say to a person without really speaking. That was sort of my motivation behind the scene. I don't really remember what I said in that scene. The running thought in my mind was, "If you kiss me right now, I'm not going to stop you." The silence didn't feel like silence because we were communicating the whole time.

JOHN: That was just awesome. I don’t think either of us knew how that was going to play. And the director didn’t either. I think all understood what it had to mean for both of them and then just let it fly. That 27 seconds was all real. It just took that long for the moment to pass them by. So cool! And, I think, so realistic.

GMMR: Jenna, we've heard a little bit about your movie LolliLove. What can you tell us about it, and when can we expect to see it?

JENNA: LolliLove is a movie that I wrote and directed a few years ago and it stars me and my real-life husband. It is a mockumentary about a wealthy Los Angeles couple who start a charity to help the homeless. It is a satire about those “charity” types who are really all about getting attention for themselves. I based it on some personal experiences I had while doing charity work when I first moved to Los Angeles. In the movie, me and my husband play “ourselves” and use our real names. We also used our real home movies, wedding video and photographs to create a very realistic documentary style for the film. The movie was made for a VERY low budget but it was a lot of fun. It comes out on DVD in March 2006. It is being released by Troma Films and hopefully it will be available on Netflix and Amazon. We have tons of behind-the scenes extras on the DVD which are actually pretty cool.

GMMR: OK Jenna, how do I ask this one? Ok, we've all seen pics of you on the red carpet and in magazines, and you are obviously beautiful. Do you ever think Pam will glam it up a bit?

JENNA: I think it’s the hair. I mean, it’s not like they put makeup on me to look bad, they just don’t put much on. My “red carpet” look is me after 90 minutes of professional hair and makeup. The way I look on The Office is what I look like most of my life when grocery shopping or going to the movies – minus the hair. I do think my hair looks better in real life. We talk about Pam’s “look” a lot. You might see her wear her hair in a headband in an upcoming episode. We discussed that for a few weeks before deciding it was okay. It’s funny…headband was okay but no ponytails. They thought I looked too good in a ponytail.

GMMR: John, rumor has it that you are writing the screenplay for the film version of David Foster Wallace's "Brief Interviews with Hideous Men". How's that coming along? Is there a part for you in the film?

JOHN: Wow! It’s going great. Thanks for asking! It’s been a really fun process and I’m sure I have plenty left to learn, but I’m really proud of it. It’s a bit nerve wracking adapting an author that you admire so much. If you haven’t read any of his stuff, I highly suggest it. He’s incredible. I hope I do him even the slightest bit of justice with this movie.

GMMR: I have to ask you John...how much sh*t did you catch from your friends in Boston about being named one of People's Most Sexiest Men?

JOHN: HAHAHA!!! How did you know? It was the most amazing transformation in my friends. At first, they were just plain happy for me. I have the most unbelievably supportive group of friends. Then, once the cat was out of the bag, the hits started coming. And in the most hilarious ways too. Always subtle. (Playing basketball) “Ok, next point wins. You need a touch up on your makeup before we play?” (At a bar, when there is a huge crowd waiting for a drink) “Wow, I thought the bartender would have seen you’re sexiness and come over by now. Looks like you have a ways to go.”

GMMR: Jenna, you've really connected with your fans through your MySpace account. It's rare for fans to have such access to actors from their favorite shows. Tell us about how and why you got involved with MySpace? And do you really update your MySpace account while on set?

JENNA: B.J. Novak (who plays Ryan the Temp) got me started. I decided to start a page as Pam and blog about the show. It has been fun to put up behind-the-scenes photos and give fans inside trivia. A bunch of us are doing it now. Angela, Kevin, Toby and Meredith all have pages. One of our production assistants has a page and our writing assistant has one too. It’s fun. We are all total geeks about our own show. We love it as much as the fans do. It’s a very special place to work. And, yes, I really do update my account while on set. We have working computers with internet at our desks. When we have to be in the background of a scene it gives me something to do. I used to write people back if they sent me a message but that has been too hard to keep up so I started writing Frequently Asked Questions as part of my blog.

GMMR: Ok, I can not finish this interview John without asking....I live in Brookline and work in Newton (John's hometown) - so next time you are home, I think I have to buy you a beer. I mean, it's only fair. You took your time to answer my questions. You up for it? (ed. I will stop at nothing to meet this boy, or at least get him to call me)

JOHN: I’ll meet you at the Cask and Flagon fah shoa, dude.

--------
Well that's it!! Thanks again to Jenna and John....you both are so fantastic!!

Goodnight y'all!!! And congrats again to all the winners. Especially my boy Steve Carrell!!

And the Winner Is....

Are you people ready for The Golden Globes tonight? I have to say, although the categories are a little wacked, the Globes are my favorite of all the award ceremonies. Why may you ask? Well the Golden Globes honor both movies and TV, so I get to see all my faves in one place. But more importantly, the Golden Globes serves booze during the ceremony. Yes, the naughty water is provided to the stars throughout the night. That means there is always the possibility of your favorite actor or actress getting hammered before presenting, or going on stage to receive an award. May we never forget the infamous Gillian Anderson acceptance speech. She was tanked, and everyone knew it. She wasn't the first, and I hope she won't be the last.

Although I'm sad to have to work today, and therefore miss the 11 f'ing hours of Ryan Seacrest hosting E!'s Red Carpet special, I will be watching tonight. If you are online, and want to watch it with friends, head over to the GMMR forums. We can trash people all night together - live!!

P.S. Tomorrow's a big day for Give Me My Remote...so make sure you check back in the morning for a VERY special treat!!!

Jack Bauer is Alive!!

Season Premiere of 24: Sunday, Jan. 15th @ 8PM AND Monday, Jan. 16th @ 8PM on Fox

Do you have your TiVo set for the return of Jack Bauer and his band of merrymen? Yes, Jack and co return tonight (and tomorrow) to kick off the 4th season of 24. The 4-hour, 2 night season premiere will sure to be the hot topic at the watercooler tomorrow.

I'll be honest with you. I've never really watched 24. Now before you start yelling profanities at me, it's not that I have anything against the show, it's just that I haven't had the time. 24 is a commitment, and I was so afraid to get into yet another show for which I would be devastated if I missed an ep. But that's all changed now that I have the super-powerful TiVo. So this newbie will be spending some of her day catching up on past seasons of 24 in preparation for tonight's show.

If you don't have TiVo, and miss something, be sure to check the forums, as the always entertaining Fatback will be handling the 24 recaps this year. And we hope that you are registered with the Give Me My Remote forums so you chat about the ep with other 24 addicts right after the show..

When Too Much Just Isn't Enough

Between the late hours at the office, and some extraciricular activities, I haven't been home much lately. This of course means I have been WAY behind on my TV watching. Well let me just say that I MORE than made up for it last night. Just to be one with all you other TV addicts, I feel the need to tell you what I watched from the time I got home last night, until I shut off the TV sometime early this morning. My eyes are still bleeding.

Daytime TV

2 episodes of Ellen Degeneres
1.5 episodes of The Creek
1 episodes of Oprah

Primetime
2 episodes of Scrubs
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (kinda - I watched the intro, met the family & fast forward to the reveal)
The West Wing
The Grey's Anatomy recap thing they played last Sunday
Project Runway
Gilmore Girls
The Daily Show
Lost (I skipped the pre-show recap)
Jay Leno (how funny was Steve Carrell last night?)

Ok...this was all in ONE night people!! I have a serious problem and I need some help. And the worst part? I still have shows on TiVo that I have yet to see?

And on the agenda for this evening...
My Name is Earl
The Office
The OC
Beauty & The Geek
The Tony Danza Show (Jenna Fischer from The Office is on...her first talk show interview)

P.S. Sorry I have been updating that often. I'm kind of slammed at work. Heading out with my girls tonight, but I promise to be back on track very soon. Thanks for the support. Talk to you in the forums.

The Dramedy of it All

My prayers have been answered. No, E! Online has not asked me to be Kristin Veitch's special assistant, and no John Krasinski has NOT called me (although he has my number...use it boy). My OTHER prayer has been answered. The one where I asked that someone do something about the TV awards categories.

Well The Academy of TV Arts and Sciences has heard my plea, and they are doing something about it. According to Variety, the Academy is considering changing the definition of "comedy" to include only traditional sitcoms, forcing shows like Boston Legal and Desperate Writing Housewives, to compete against other dramas. Hallelujah!

"After last year's Emmys were over, the question was raised whether or not there should be further restriction placed on eligibility in comedy series," said ATAS awards senior VP John Leverence. "Were we allowing for 'Desperate Housewives' to be appropriately placed in comedy? It seemed so out of sync with the general trend in that category. A rule change would end the practice of allowing shows that straddle the comedy/drama divide to choose for themselves where they'd like
to compete. "

I think this would be a smart move for the Academy to do something about this now, because it's getting a little out of control. I mean, if this isn't taken care The Office (God willing) is going to be up against Grey's Anatomy for best comedy at next year's Emmy Awards.

A Long Time Ago...There Was a New Ep

Anyone else as excited as I am for the return on Veronica Mars on January 25th ? Just two short (and by short I mean LONG) weeks away. I think I've aged 10 years waiting for a new episode. And from what I hear, it's going to be a good one. And now that Give Me My Remote has made it "big", we get special little inside tidbits straight from the Veronica Mars people. So if you love little Miss Veronica as much as we do, make sure to check back often for the latest info and super inside scoop.

Warning: The following contains info about the Jan. 25th episode of Veronica Mars. Don't read if you don't want to know.

On a very special Veronica Mars....(1/25/06 @ 9pm est on UPN)

"An FBI team, headed up by tough, seasoned Agent Morris (guest star Lucy Lawless), is called in to pursue Duncan after he breaks up with Veronica and flees with Meg's baby.Meanwhile, Wallace reveals the tragic reason why he returned to Neptune. Later, Logan asks his buddy Dick to help in a scheme to weed out which one of Weevil's P.C.H. Biker Boyz framed him for murder."

Oh the drama, the suspense, the thought of Logan Echolls shirtless...it's just too much to ask us to wait another 2 weeks. If Donut dumps Veronica and runs off with the baby that will leave Logan in that big apartment all by himself, and Veronica without a boyfriend and in need of a shoulder to cry on. "And so now I come to you, with open arms"

"Do not insult Journey" - Ryan Atwood

UPDATE: Thanks to whomever it was that pointed out my original error. A combination of not paying attention to what I was writing and wishful thinking. The updates have been made.

Set Your TiVo's Tonight

Just checking in today with a few TV udpates. Our favorite shows are coming back with all new episodes. I, for one, am thrilled!!! Just thought I would throw out a few that you should be watching tonight.

And I have a little task for you as well. I was hoping that you could leave a comment on the site and tell us what your 5 favorite shows are. We at Give Me My Remote want to make sure we are covering our bases when we chat it up.

Also, last week's episode of "The Office" brought a few new friends to GMMR and the GMMR forums. Just wanted to say WELCOME!

And begin...

Gilmore Girls
(8pm est on The WB)

After what has seemed like years, Rory, Lorelai, and all the crazies of Stars Hollow are back tonight with a fresh new ep. How over are Rory and Logan? Will Luke tell Lorelai about his long lost daughter? Will the writers find some semblance of a storyline for Lane and her band? You're going to have to watch to see?

Scrubs (9 & 9:30pm est on NBC)
All right stop, collaborate and listed Scrubs is back with a brand new invention. Sorry, Ice Ice Baby just came on my iPod. But Scrubs is back tonight with two new eps. Always a guaranteed laugh.

The Shield (10pm est on FX)
The 5th season of our favorite "not so typical" crime drama premieres tonight with an all new ep. If you haven't caught on to this Emmy award winning show, now's your chance. Michael Chiklis is fantastic as Det. Vick Mackey. And I would be saying that even if Chick weren't from Boston. Holla!

Boston Legal (10pm est on ABC)
I'm still somewhat bitter at Boston Legal for bullying their way into the Comedy section for The Golden Globes, but not bitter enough to miss Michael J. Fox's return to the small screen on tonight's ep. The start of a 3 episode story arc find Fox starring at Daniel Post, a cancer sufferer who hires CP&S to defend him. We've missed you Alex P. Keaton.

People's Choice Awards (9pm est on CBS)
I'm not really recommending this one, as much as just letting you know it's on tonight. The PCA's have always irked me a bit. They always seem to be a bit cheesy and out of touch. Just look at the noms. You mean to tell me that of all the male movie stars tearing it up, the people have to choose between Johnny Depp, Nicolas Cage, and Samuel L. Jackson? WHAT? And seriously, Sandra Bullock for favorite female movie star? I love Sandy and she rocked in Crash, but c'mon. For a full list of nominees, click here.

Dancing with the Stars Debuts

Well I hope all of you people watched or at least TiVo'd the season premiere of Dancing with the Stars. Once again it's going to be the show to watch. I'm warning you now - watch it, or else be left behind. As I mentioned briefly last night, I was SO excited to see Aaron Echolls (Harry Hamlin) and Nick Lachey in the audience.

Although that wrestling chic Stacy was AWESOME, I'm still sticking with my Week One picks of Lisa Rinna and/or Drew Lachey to take it all.

For those of you who missed the premiere ep, our friends over at the utterly fabulous Tabloid Whore partnered with Give Me My Remote to provide you with a great recap. Thanks again Tabloid Whore...with my busy work schedule, I owe you one.
------

Alright, so I'm going to try my best and do some quick recaps each week for Dancing With The Stars. It's a fun show and definitely worth talking about. Who's your favorite?

George Hamilton - I swear the man looks like Warren Beatty now. Ya know, he was a bit stiff, but the poor guy had an arthritic knee and 4 broken ribs from falling off a yacht. He made me laugh and I think he was cute.

Lisa Rinna - Dear God, please, let me have a body like Lisa Rinna when I am 42!! I love Lisa and her crazy lips. I see her all the time at the supermarket and girlfriend does her own food shopping, you gotta love that. I thought she did a great job, very elegant and smooth. Her husband Harry Hamlin was adorable cheering for her in the audience.

Kenny Mayne - Oh dear Kenny. I am a sucker for a funny personality. He wasn't the best dancer, but at least he moved quickly and cracked me up. His looks and awkwardness remind me of my friends husband, so I automatically like him.

Stacy Keibler - She was really good and had this crazy ass back arch that hurt to watch, but holy moly, give me those abs of hers. Perfection! The thing is, I'm not a wrestling fan and don't know who she is, so It's hard for me to care a lot about her.

Drew Lachey - The boy did not disappoint. I've had my $$$ on him since I heard he was going to be on the show. Damn, aside from being adorable like his brother Nick (who we saw in the audience, woo hoo!) he is a really good dancer. Ya know what they say, if you're good on the dancefloor, you're good in the sack!

Tia Carrere - Safe, good, this season's Trista Rehn.

Master P - Oh wow. It hurts how bad I feel for him. Possibly the most uncomfortable performance in the history of the series. You gotta love the guy for stepping in for his son Romeo after he was injured, but the man was stiff as a board. I'm sure he has got some moves, but I could just feel through the television set how uncomfortable he was and I don't think he wanted to be there. It was clear he felt his gangsta cred was being majorly threatened. Hey, if tough guys like Evander Holyfield (last season) and Jerry Rice can go up there and try their best, so can Master P!

Giselle Fernandez - I'm sorry, at this point I zoned out. She was fine.

Jerry Rice - Oh my God, I am not a football fan, but I love this man. He has the sweetest face and is just adorable. I just want to give him hugs, hugs, hugs. I think he did a good job and probably will improve a lot as the show progresses. Plus, he can swing those hips like there is no tomorrow! (Insert Drew Lachey dancefloor comment here).

Tatum O'Neal - Ohhh I had been waiting for Tatum the whole night. Girlfriend has had her problems in life y'know. She was the wild card. Ok, my friends can testify that I am the biggest wimp when it comes to motion sickness, but what kind of fool gets nauseous during dance spins? She did a nice job with her dance and I love her for getting out there and giving it her all. But Between you and me, I just kept on looking for stash to fall out of her pocket. Sorry.

My faves this week: Drew Lachey & Lisa Rinna. Sadly, I think Master P is dunzo.

The Office...The Booze Cruise

If you are online, please come to the forums so we can discuss. I'm a wreck right now, and I need some counseling.

Update: I wish you see how crazy my site traffic just went. And all the keyphrases leading here? John Krasinski, Jim and Pam, Jenna Fischer, John and Jenna, Jim and Pam on the Office, the Office.

A trend here or what?

A Friend of Ours on Veronica Mars?

The following contain potential spoilers for Veronica Mars. If you don't want to be spoiled...stop reading now.

Is top TV Diva Kristin Veitch going to be guesting on one of her and our favorite shows? A glimpse at a script for a future episode of Veronica Mars has our favorite TV reporter listed in the cast. So spill it Veitch? Are you and Logan gettin' it on or what?

Also, you may have heard that VM creator, Rob Thomas, was on the hunt for an actor to play Aaron Echolls in The Aaron Echolls Story. Although my suggestion was the one and only David Hasselhoff, it looks like they might have gone with Keith Carradine. Personally, I think they could have gone with someone more recognizable to the Veronica Mars audience, but that's just me. And then again, it's only a partial script, so maybe it's not Carradine at all.

Quick Note - Cameo Appearances

Hot damn! Harry Hamlin and Nick Lachey in the audience for Dancing with the Stars. I am in heaven!!!!

And how adorable is Drew Lachey?!

My Crush on The Pives

Since I started this blog after the season finale of Entourage, you might not know that I really love this show. Big fan! Huge! You know what I love most about Entourage? The Pives. And I'm not a recent bandwagonner here. I've lurved him for a long time. Say Anything, PCU, Ellen, Cupid...he's been on my radar for quite sometime now. You'll be hearing more about Ari, Drama, Turtle, Vince and even E when Entrouage returns to HBO later this year. But for now, indulge me by checking out the HOT pics of The Pives from the recent Malibu Magazine photoshoot. Enjoy!

Thanks to Perez Hilton for the pics.

Jon Stewart to Host Oscars

Oh sweet heaven, this is fantastic news ! Although it has yet to be formally announced, it looks like the one and only Jon Stewart is going to be the host of this year's Academy Awards. Oscar..Oscar..Oscar!!

I'm not sure they could have picked someone better for the role. Not only is Stewart one of the funniest people in the world, but he is one of the smartest comedians in many years.

I hope that the Academy learns from the Emmy's mistake and makes the most of Stewart's talents. We all know how the Emmy's wasted Ellen DeGeneres by having her do a lame intro and bit parts. Ellen is too good for that. And Jon Stewart is WAY too much of a talent to be wasted on stupid and pointlesstime-filler gags.

Just the other day, when it was announced that Chris Rock wouldn't be hosting this year's ceremony, I turned to my friend and said that if the Academy knew what they were doing they would get Jon Stewart to host. Damn, I have such power. Ok, just wanted to let you all know. And know...it's 11pm, and I'm off to watch The Daily Show. Hmmmm....what a coinkydink.

What the Stars are TiVo'ing

Not all Hollywoodites on holiday are soaking up the sun in St. Barths or doing the ski bunny thang in Aspen. Some celebs are using their script- and spackle-free days to catch up on their favorite TV shows.

So what do they TiVo?

Queer Eye” flamboyant fashionisto Carson Kressley reports he TiVos James Bond flicks. “They’re so inspirational. They give me so much ‘ammo’ — pun intended — when it comes to things to wear.”

Heather Graham of the new ABC sitcom “Emily’s Reasons Why Not” records “Arrested Development” and “Desperate Housewives.” But she’s watching a lot of “Intervention” because Graham says she’s “doing a heroin movie.”

John O’Hurley caught all his fancy footwork on “Dancing with the Stars,” but hasn’t yet caught up on his “Seinfeld” episodes! “I’m now seeing them for the first time. I’ve never seen them before now,” J. Peterman reports.

Desperate Housewives” vixen Eva Longoria — when she’s not getting into traffic scuffles with the local constabulary — is getting some inspiration from Oprah Winfrey’s daily chat show. “She produces with intention, and everything she does either changes the way people look at the world or changes the way people think about something.” Like Gabrielle Solis?

One Tree Hill” hunk Chad Michael Murray has a thing for “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” star Mariska Hartigay. And besides, all the acting on the show is “brilliant,” he opines.

Neil Patrick Harris, who plays the ever-annoying Barney on “How I Met Your Mother,” is a TiVoholic. He tapes “The Office” (as well as the original U.K. version), “Arrested Development” and he’s been “pleasantly surprised” by “Two & a Half Men.” But does Charlie Sheen record Neil’s show??

And then there’s “The Ghost WhispererJennifer Love Hewitt. She Whisper-ed that she’s a big fan of “Dog the Bounty Hunter” on A&E. “I just love him. I think he’s phenomenal. I want to go to Hawaii to do a ride-along with him and his family.”

Mathew St. Patrick of FOX-TV’s “Reunion” can’t carve out any time in his schedule for “Nip/Tuck,” so he records it. “It’s crazy. It’s real. It’s entertainment. It’s L.A.”

Dancing with the Stars????

Last year's phenom returns for a second season with all new, um, "stars"? Yeah, can we talk about that for a minute? I think the term stars is used a little too freely here. It's more like Dancing with the Has Beens, or at least Dancing with the C-listers. But regardless, I'll be watching.

Personally, I was pleasantly surprised by this show. I tuned in last season only because Joey Joe was a contestant (and as a girl who grew up in Boston during the NKOTB era, I have to support everything these boys do), and I really liked it. It was something just a bit different for reality TV. There was no eating gross bugs, no alliances, and no drunken hookups (although that could have been interesting). It was just a nice, sweet show that made me want to find a hot guy to take ballroom dancing lessons with.

I'm ready for this new season, and although there aren't any "stars" grabbing my attention this time, I've already chosen my top choices for finalists: Lisa Rinna & Drew Lachey!

Lisa Rinna (Days of Our Lives/Veronica Mars) will be moving her killer bod (and her ginormous lips) all over the dance floor. I'm rooting for Lisa to take it all this season. Why? Well because she's Logan's mom, and in real-life she's married to Logan's dad (Harry Hamlin), so there's a chance we can see Aaron Echolls in the audience and out of his prison blues. And if you don't have any idea what I'm talking about, then you clearly don't watch Veronica Mars, so shame on you.

Nick is not the only Lachey with talent. Nick's little brother, and former 98 Degrees bandmate, Drew Lachey will be cutting a rug on DWTS this season. I'm ready for Drew to break out on his own, and out of Nick's shadow. Those of you who watched Newlyweds know Drew very well. He seems like a nice guy, and if he makes it into the finals, maybe Nick will make a special guest appearance. (oh wait, this isn't about Nick...right, right).

Joining Lisa and Drew on the dance floor this season...

Perpetually tan George Hamilton...New mom and Wayne's World star Tia Carrere...Former NFL Superstar Jerry Rice...WWE wrestler Stacy Keibler...Former network newswoman Giselle Fernandez (they are reaching for "stars")...ESPN's own Kenny Mayne...Rapper Master P (last minute fill in for his son Romeo who got hurt playing bball)...Oscar winner and tragic former child star Tatum O'Neal

ROTFL...LOL...Ha Ha

It's time to laugh people. And NBC is here to help. With the return of a favorite, a newbie, and a little shift in the schedule, NBC hopes to get us laughing in '06.

Scrubs (Tuesday @ 9pm on NBC) YES! The season premiere of Scrubs returns with back-to-back episodes this week. If you haven't caught on to Scrubs phenomenon yet, this is a great time to check it out. It's one of the best comedies on TV, and well worth your time.

Four Kings
(Thursday @ 8:30pm on NBC) I'll give this one a shot. I don't really know what to expect. Seth Green is funny (and VERY short, have you seen the promos?), but I'm not sure this one is an instant classic. I feel like it's been done before. Let's wait and see.

A New Night for Comedy

I would be remiss if I didn't remind you all that Must See TV is Back. NBC is hoping to revive their Thursday nights with a line-up of some of its best comedies. Make sure you note the schedule change so you don't miss your favorite shows.

Will & Grace (8pm): The old standby. I haven't watched a new ep of this show for sometime, as it's always up against my other shows. But it's always a guaranteed laugh.

Four Kings (8:30pm): This freshman show is getting the support it needs from NBC. Can it survive?

My Name is Earl (9:00pm): Believe the hype - this show is hysterical.

The Office (9:30pm): Is there really anything I need to say here? You know I am obsessed with this show. In my humble opinion, The Office and Arrested Development are the BEST comedies on TV today. So if you haven't checked out The Office, do it now!! All the cool kids are watching it.

Can't Miss Show of the Week...

Arrested Development (Monday @8pm EST on Fox)

This is a can't miss episode...the one people wil be talking about tomorrow. Well, at least those of us who actually watch Arrested Development will be talking about it.

Leave it to Arrested Development to mine the tragedy of its imminent death for laughs. Per Variety, series creator Mitch Hurwitz is planning an episode that will poke fun at Fox's decision to reduce the show's episode order from 22 to 13, effectively canceling it. In the episode, titled "S.O.B." for "Save Our Bluths," the Bluth clan considers throwing a fund-raiser to save their construction company from shutting down. In one scene, Jason Bateman's Michael notes, "Our backs are against the wall.... It's just hard for me to accept that it's really come to begging." There's even a conversation about whether the Home Builders Organization — HBO — might be willing to come to their rescue. That idea is quickly nixed though, leading George Sr. to say, "I guess it's Showtime. We'll put on some kind of show at the [fund-raiser]."
