Report: Prospect Park Looking to Revive ONE LIFE TO LIVE and ALL MY CHILDREN

December 17, 2012 by

Out of all the stories I could have potentially written today, literally, this never would have crossed my mind as a possibility: 13 months after the deal fell through for Prospect Park to continue ABC soaps ONE LIFE TO LIVE and ALL MY CHILDREN online, Deadline is reporting that the company has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA (the acting union) and DGA (the directors’ guild) to bring the soaps back.

As of now, there’s no word on which actors would actually return. Originally, OLTL was set to bring back Melissa Archer (Natalie Buchanan Banks), Kelley Missal (Danielle Rayburn), Sean Ringgold (Shaun Evans), Andrew Trischitta (Jack Manning), Jerry VerDorn (Clint Buchanan), Erika Slezak (Viki), Kassie DePaiva (Blair), Michael Easton (John) and Ted King (Tomas), but Easton is currently tied up on GENERAL HOSPITAL and DePaiva has been popping up there, too. Also problematic is that former OLTL executive producer Frank Valentini is currently running GENERAL HOSPITAL — and has incorporated several other former OLTL characters into his new show.

With AMC…that, I suppose, could be a bit more flexible? Given that the series concluded with JR shooting into a room full of people, at least some of those characters would need to come back. And while Susan Lucci (Erica) is tied up with another show, she reportedly wasn’t going to come to the online version anyway.

So, what do you think? Too much to get your hopes up for?
