Kevin Williamson on Moving to a Streaming Platform with TELL ME A STORY

After more than twenty years working on network television (with shows like DAWSON’S CREEK, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, and THE FOLLOWING) under his belt, writer Kevin Williamson is making a leap with CBS All Access’ TELL ME A STORY, his first project for a streaming platform.

For Williamson, the move is different…but familiar. “I love network [television], but it’s been nice to step out of network and do something different,” he admitted to reporters in the video below. “What’s great about TELL ME A STORY is I get to do something different, but I actually get to go into my roots a little bit. And deconstruct in a way that I did at the very start of my career. I get to do what I love to do, but at the same time, get to do something new. Best of both worlds.”

TELL ME A STORY is a retelling of classic fairytales set in modern-day New York City. (In the ten-episode first season, “The Three Little Pigs,” “Little Red Riding Hood,” and “Hansel and Gretel” will be adapted—and intersect.) The serialized drama stars James Wolk, Billy Magnussen, Dania Ramirez, Danielle Campbell, Dorian Missick, Michael Raymond-James, Davi Santos, Sam Jaeger, Zabryna Guevara, TVD’s Paul Wesley, and Kim Cattrall.
