With the end of the season rapidly approaching, CHICAGO MED, CHICAGO FIRE, and CHICAGO P.D. return on Wednesday, April 24 with pretty big episodes.

Here are a few teases about what is in store…

CHICAGO MED’s “Never Let You Go”:

  • The hospital goes into lockdown when a man—who is connected to a patient—threatens the staff with a gun. Some of the characters aren’t in the ED when the incident goes down—but that doesn’t mean they won’t end up in there.
  • Someone tries to be a hero. It doesn’t end well.
  • When Connor (Colin Donnell) realizes how sick his father is, he takes a dangerous risk in order to potentially save his life.
  • Much like the hour earlier in the season when the hospital was locked down due to toxins, several people will be pushed beyond their medical abilities/comfort.

CHICAGO FIRE’s “Until The Weather Breaks”:

  • With a storm raging outside, it’s fairly close to a bottle episode—the team is in the firehouse with the power barely working and the alarms malfunctioning. And with that kind of close quarters, there will be fights and reassessing relationships.
  • A young boy shows up at the firehouse in a rather unconventional way.
  • Almost everyone is welcoming to their visitor John Garrett (David Fumero).

CHICAGO P.D.’s “What Could Have Been”:

  • When Burgess’ (Marina Squerciati) boyfriend is killed, she struggles with both what their relationship was and—as the episode title says—what could have been.
  • One person she can rely on? Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger), who is both a professional and personal ally to his ex…and ends up making a significant difference.
  • (But, uh, Burgess is definitely not the only familiar character who is heartbroken about what could have been by the time the episode concludes.)
