THE WALKING DEAD is coming to an end with a supersized season 11, AMC announced.

Originally, season 10 was supposed to end this spring, but the episode was unable to be completed due to COVID-19. The “finale” will now air Sunday, October 4, with an additional six episodes ordered for that season. Season 11 will be a supersized 24 installments, making it the largest season the show’s ever done.

But the franchise won’t be coming to an end: AMC has ordered a spinoff following Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride). (THE WALKING DEAD has also spawned FEAR THE WALKING DEAD and the upcoming, two-season, THE WALKING DEAD: WORLD BEYOND, and there are multiple Rick Grimes-focused films on the horizon.)

THE WALKING DEAD, Season 10 Finale, Sunday, October 4, 9/8c, AMC
