Let’s talk about Thursday night’s TV!

LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT: I kept thinking about this episode being originally planned for season 21 and how it might have played out then, when Carisi was still a fairly new ADA. I wish we had gotten a little more with him, seeing the toll it was taking on him (and also his relationship with Rollins outside of those two quick moments), but I’m glad he was actually, finally, listened to.

I’m enjoying the Fin and Joe dynamic so far; I hope we dig a bit more into it going forward.

GREY’S ANATOMY: Meredith and Nick are very cute, and she absolutely deserves that after the year (decade) she’s had, but I’m so curious what they look like when they’re out of this initial giddiness and rush and have to really deal with the reality of her living part-time elsewhere, where her kids are. Or maybe this is it and it will just be fun.

But, also…hello Kai and Amelia.

So, uh, it seems Ben and Bailey just got a daughter?!

LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME: So much happened in the hour! While I wish we had seen Flutura’s initial reaction to learning Eddie was actually Elliot, her sass to him (and Bell’s delight-turned-disgust over teasing Elliot about their interaction) was pretty great.

I found myself unexpectedly really moved by Albi and Flutura’s love? They’re bad, full stop; in no way denying that. But at the same time, it was fascinating to also see their undying devotion to each other, and how that was one of their only real truths.

Also, I know right now the plan is for this to be the end of the arc, but, like…these people are not just going to forget what Elliot did to them or their family. (I mean, look at what Agnes already did?!)

I’m, honestly, so thrilled Elliot is finally going to be home. I appreciated what they did in this arc, but this man needs to get back to his therapist ASAP, please and thank you. His family needs him, both to literally be there and to stop hiding. (Sorry to the beard lovers, but I’m also glad that’s gone, too.)

But I’m also really glad we get Elliot and Ayanna back. Their friendship/partnership has been one of the absolute best surprises about this show, and I’m really glad we get to see them work together-together again.
