THE VOICE, THE BIG LEAP, and ORDINARY JOE

THE BIG LEAP: L-R: Piper Perabo, Jon Rudnitsky and Scott Foley in the “What Prevents Us?” episode of THE BIG LEAP airing Monday, Nov. 15 (9:00-10:00PM ET/PT) on FOX. © 2021 FOX Media LLC. CR: Sandy Morris/FOX.

Let’s talk about Monday night’s TV!

THE VOICE: I am so, so happy they’re doing smaller eliminations and it being general versus one person per group leaving (or more). The show has clearly done both, and while I get it’s frustrating for a coach if they end up with no one in the finale, having a strong team should equal a bigger presence as the constant pool gets smaller.

I’m always glad when there’s no bad performances, but it’s going to make Tuesday’s elimination interesting…I just don’t know which two acts will go home.

[Here’s what the top 13 contestants had to say about their performances.]

THE BIG LEAP: I’m not happy Gabby was hurt, but, oh my God, the episode was so sad/bittersweet I’m almost glad we had the distraction of that. Mike and Paula’s wedding was gorgeous, and ooooh boy did I get emotional. Nick acknowledging he can’t change the ending was really hard to watch, both because he was once again letting the reality of the situation sink in and it was clearly impacting him and it’s true. He could do what it took to make this dream wedding happen, but it doesn’t change the ending. But Monica was also right: He changed something, he gave the couple that day, and that’s important, too. (And also how perfect was Nick being uncomfortable being forced in front of the camera??)

ORDINARY JOE: Well, I think being confronted about an affair at a funeral is now top 5 worst ways that scenario could play out. But, also, yikes, Amy, having someone’s watch does feel like a pretty big tell, as is the decision to…put it with the body, without checking with the spouse first. I’m glad she at least confessed to Music Joe about the affair, even if she was backed into a corner. (And I’m so happy for Nurse Joe’s Amy and Eric on deciding to adopt.)
