SWAT season 6 spoilers

“Guacaine” – When violence erupts at a popular food truck festival, the team must contend with a deadly cartel determined to recover a large lost drug shipment at any cost, on S.W.A.T., Friday, Dec. 9 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+*. When SWAT ended its 2022 run, Deacon (Jay Harrington) was forced to contend with his family’s lingering trauma, as Matthew (Colin O’Brien) attacked another kid.

“It was important storyline for me to address…the negative effects of my job, how that can trickle into my kids’ lives,” Harrington tells Give Me My Remote in the video below. “And so it’s always been there, in the back of my head…I’ve always had that wealth of doing what I do because I have a family, and I want to stay safe for them. But to know now that what I do, and what I’ve done in my career, is hurting them is really an interesting story to bring about and that I will always play through.”

“I don’t want it to go away; it’s not gonna get wrapped up in a bow and be all better by the end of the episode,” he continues. “I’m excited to tell that story.”

But despite the possible trouble ahead, there will be some lightness for the Kay family.

“We’re gonna see Lila a little after that; we haven’t seen her in a bit,” Harrington says. “Boy, she grew…But there’s something going on with her and it’s not quite as heavy as with Matthew, but it’s just nice to have that family dynamic and [see] how that affects Annie and I.”

Of course, Deacon might have to tap into his fatherly instinct at work when the show return on Friday, January 6.

“I got a Hondo coming to me about advice about…his kid on the way and about his [quasi-]in-laws,” Harrington previews. “I’m tapped out as the wealth of knowledge. But I love that the writers acknowledge that, hey…Hondo might be team leader, but he doesn’t know squat about this so…he’s going to talk to Deacon. I love that.”
