Couch Madness: ‘Ashes to Ashes’ (Group 2)

Couch Madness Ashes to Ashes Group 2

In honor of the NCAA tournament season, Give Me My Remote is bringing back our TV-centric bracket, pitting similarly titled episodes against each other: Couch Madness! (Credit for the excellent name goes to fellow reporter Chris Hayner.)

The seeding is simple: rather than quality of the hour, we’re going by air date (with the oldest episode getting the #1 slot and the newest getting #8). With Peak TV, this will not include every single show that has used this title; rather, we picked a selection from what was available.

The first round will run from Monday, March 11 through Friday, March 15. Round two will kick off on Monday, March 18, with the final face-off starting on Monday, March 25.

Next up? “Ashes to Ashes.” And with this title we’re doing something different: There are enough shows for two separate brackets. So keep reading for the second bracket, episode descriptions (from IMDB), and the poll. (For the other episodes competing, check out all the brackets here!)

SALEM (1): “Alden’s trial begins, testing everyones alliances and allegiances.”

vs.

MAGNUM P.I. (8): “Magnum and Higgins reexamine a fatal arson investigation at the request of TC and Mahina, leading to a sinister discovery. Kumu volunteers with Rick at a veterans’ crisis call center.”

LONGMIRE (2): “After killing David Ridges, sheriff Longmire uncovers a clue that could prove that Ridges killed Miller Beck. Meanwhile, Branch is curious about a possible relationship between his father and Jacob Nighthorse.”

vs.

LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME (7): “A deadly bombing rocks the NYPD and leaves several suspects in the wind. Nova makes a major discovery.”

THE ORIGINALS (3): “With time running out, Klaus’ ultimate plan to protect baby Hope at all costs continues to take shape. As tensions between the siblings come to a head, Camille reveals a vital piece of information that causes Elijah and Rebekah to reconsider their plan of attack against Dahlia. Davina finds herself one step closer to fulfilling the promise she made to Kol, while Freya is forced to take drastic measures to protect herself against Dahlia. Elsewhere, Marcel has to put aside his fury at Klaus in order to protect himself and everyone in their sire line. Meanwhile, Vincent finds himself torn between the prospects of a magic-free life away from New Orleans and a personal obligation to protect Davina. Finally, with their risky plan in place, the Mikaelson siblings prepare for the fight of their lives.”

vs.

THE 100 (6): “Bellamy and Octavia must put aside any differences and work together to save their friends. Meanwhile, Echo confronts her past.”

ASH VS EVIL DEAD (4): “Ash returns to the classic forbidden place where it all began.”

vs.

CASUAL (5): “In the wake of Charles’ death, Alex and Valerie adjust to their new lives apart. Laura schemes to remove her tattoo. Dawn makes an unexpected announcement.”
