THE BOYS: Eric Kripke Says Season 5 Will Be the ‘Final Season’

THE BOYS may be coming to an end: Showrunner Eric Kripke has said the just-ordered season 5 will be its final season. (A rep for the show had no comment.)

“#TheBoys Season 4 Premiere Week is a good time to announce: Season 5 will be the Final Season!” Kripke wrote on Twitter, attached to a censored photo of the season 4 finale script. “Always my plan, I just had to be cagey till I got the final OK from Vought. Thrilled to bring the story to a gory, epic, moist climax. Watch Season 4 in 2 DAYS, cause the end has begun!”

The series is based on the comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. In season 4, “the world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscly thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power. Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca’s son and his job as The Boys’ leader. The rest of the team are fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they have to find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.”

The upcoming season stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and Cameron Crovetti. New additions include Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
