ONCE UPON A TIME: Emilie de Ravin, Robert Carlyle, and Edward Kitsis Tease ‘The Outsider’

Rumple and Belle may be together on ONCE UPON A TIME, but so far in season 2, much of the focus hasn’t been on them. But with tonight’s brand new episode, things are about to change.
“This is a big episode for Belle and for Rumple,” Emilie de Ravin (Belle) teased to reporters on the Vancouver set late last year. “Something is going to happen that’s really…it’s big. It’s shocking. It’s actually really cool, it’s a really great episode, and there’s a lot of things that will surprise people.”
And yes, that means you should be expecting some sweet couple-y moments for the duo dubbed “Rumbelle.”
“There are some really lovely scenes between Gold and Belle,” Robert Carlyle (Gold/Rumple) previewed. “There’s a reality to it I really like. You don’t necessarily get what you want — some people are like, ‘I only want Rumple and Belle! I only want Rumple and Belle in love!’ — you aren’t necessarily going to get that. You may get a bit of that, but you’re going to get a real relationship that has peaks and troughs, like any normal one does. That’s what…I’ve come to expect from the way the guys write. She wants him to be a certain type, she wants him to be a certain way. He’s trying to be a better man…but whether he’s going to be successful or not, I can’t tell you.”
To get a little more of a tease of what’s to come, I went to ONCE UPON A TIME co-showrunner Edward Kitsis at the recent ABC winter press tour party, and what he hinted was to come is quite the doozy.
“I love this week’s episode, because we’ve been teasing for a while what will happen when everyone sees each other,” Kitsis teased. “So this is the week where Cora gets to see Regina and Hook gets to be let loose a little bit.”
Hook being let loose? Look out, Rumple and Belle!
ONCE UPON A TIME airs Sundays at 8 PM on ABC.

Once Upon A Time has been awesome this season, and there really hasn’t been enough focus on Belle and Rumple. I haven’t been able to watch last night’s episode yet though because I was working a late shift at DISH. I’m going to catch up with the season tonight on my DISH Hopper. It will record Once Upon A Time, and the other primetime shows from the four major networks, automatically. Everyone at home can record their favorite primetime shows at the same time without running into recording conflicts.
