Tonight’s TV Spotlight…Monday, October 4, 2010

October 4, 2010 by

Rainy days and Mondays always get me down…unless there is a bunch of really good TV on the tube. Thankfully, it’s one of those Mondays.  New episodes of all of your favorites (except of course for LONE STAR…too soon?) are back and joining the Monday line-up are the Real Housewives of Atlanta.  Welcome, ladies.

I know what my schedule looks like…do you? What are you watching tonight? Let us know in the comments below.

Chuck | 8pm on NBC
“Chuck Versus the Cubic Z”
Villainous nemeses Hugo Panzer (“Stone Cold” Steve Austin) and Heather Chandler (Nicole Richie) return to haunt (and hunt) Chuck and Sarah. The conniving Chandler, however, stirs up Chuck’s curiosity when she claims she has information about his mother. Meanwhile, Morgan preps the store for an all-important video-game release. Stacy Keibler also guest stars. [GMMR: Have you entered our CHUCK vs. G.R.E.T.A. contest? Your fellow CHUCK fans have shared some amazing entries so far.  Is yours better?]

How I Met Your Mother | 8pm on CBS
“Unfinished”
When Ted turns down Barney’s offer for a building-design job, Barney tries to woo him with all of the seduction methods he uses on women; and a lonely and drunk Robin calls Don.

90210 | 8pm on The CW
“The Bachelors”
Silver enlists Navid, Dixon, Liam and Teddy to appear in a bachelor auction for charity; Annie and Adrianna discover the truth about Naomi and Mr. Cannon; Sasha returns with life-changing news.

Dancing with the Stars | 8pm on ABC
“Performances”
The third week of performances features contestants telling stories through their dances. Competitors include Florence Henderson, Bristol Palin, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Rick Fox, Kurt Warner and Jennifer Grey.

House | 8pm on Fox
“Unwritten”
A popular children’s author has a seizure moments before attempting suicide; House and Cuddy go on a date with Wilson and his girlfriend (Cynthia Watros).

Gossip Girl | 9pm on The CW
“Touch of Eva”
A suspicious Nate asks Juliet what she’s hiding from him. Elsewhere, Blair plots to put an end to Chuck’s current state of bliss; and Dan is once again conflicted about his feelings for both Serena and Vanessa. [GMMR: Any GOSSIP GIRL fans out there? Is it just me or is this season awesome so far?]

Lie to Me | 9pm on Fox | Season Premiere
“In the Red”
Season 3 premiere: Tim tries to stop a man (Shawn Doyle) bent on revenge from robbing a bank and in the process holds a guilty man accountable for his actions. [GMMR: The show returns tonight in the place of the canceled LONE STAR.]

The Event | 9pm on NBC
“Protect Them from the Truth”
A new detainee (Clea DuVall) is put into play when the Martinez administration rolls out a new strategy to make Sophia come clean about the detainees’ plan. In other events, Vicky and Carter hold an important hostage and Collier’s doubts grow deeper.

Castle | 10pm on ABC
“Under the Gun”
When a coded document attracts Castle’s attention, Beckett must steer the case back to the violent felons who populated their victim’s world; when Beckett’s ex-partner arrives, Castle must watch the relationship become romantic.

Hawaii Five-0 | 10pm on CBS
“Malama Ka Aina”
A gang war erupts during a high-school football game killing several people and Five-0 uncovers a link between the gang and a powerful mainland mob.

Chase | 10pm on NBC
“The Comeback Kid”
After 17 years of living life on the run and under a false identity, a onetime mob big shot (Robert Knepper) goes on a killing spree that harkens back to his notorious gangster heyday.

Weeds | 10pm on Showtime
“Pinwheels and Whirligigs”
After way too many incidents of gunplay, the Botwins and Doug seek some downtime at a Montana fair, where Nancy and Shane create a scene in line for the roller coaster, and Andy enters an unusual eating contest.

The Big C | 10:30pm on Showtime
“Two for the Road”
Cathy and Sean hit the road to visit their father (Brian Cox). Along the way, she tells Sean about her cancer diagnosis, which knocks him for a loop. Back at home, underage Adam, under the not-so-watchful eye of his father, has a bit too much to drink and winds up under the weather.

It will be Chuck, then Lie to Me (I feel a bit guilty for this, but there it is!) and then Castle. Thanks for the spotlight post!

Castle is not on tonight on the East Coast due to Monday Night Football. It’s on some other night this week at 1 am.

So annoyed by the Castle preemption here–they are airing it at 1:36am on Wednesday instead. Wish they would just keep the sports on the sports networks and stop messing up the primetime TV schedule (Sunday is always a mess for Amazing Race and Fox animation). I get both the MA and NH ABC stations–wish the NH station was at least airing real programming instead of Patriots but alas no such luck! 🙁

Tonight I’ll be watching Chuck, HIMYM, and The Event. I’ll also be recording 90210, Gossip Girl, Hawaii Five-0, and eventually Castle. I was ready to give up on Gossip Girl, but this season pulled me back in, it’s been really good.

Ditto on Gossip Girl! I wasn’t sure I was going to keep it, so I put off watching the episodes for three weeks. After watching the first three in one night, I am completely hooked again. 🙂 I’m also really liking this season of 90120, and I always love HIMYM and Castle.

  6. Katie on October 4th, 2010 9:47 pm

Gossip Girl IS awesome this season!

Yes, I’m SO glad people are loving GG as much as I am. With so much Monday night TV, I know we don’t cover it like we should. Korbi is going to write up a quick post tomorrow so we can talk about tonight’s episode. Now, I just need to find the time to watch….ugh.
