HOUSE: David Shore on the Pressure Put on Series Finales, When He Decided How His Show Would End and More

May 18, 2012 by

No matter how or when a show ends, there’s often an additional importance placed by viewers on that final installment. And when I spoke with HOUSE creator David Shore, he expressed some discomfort over the emphasis that gets placed on how a show closes out its run versus the merits of the series as a whole. (To be fair, when you title the final hour of your series  “Everybody Dies,” expectations are understandably built-in.)

Take a look at what he had to say about the pressures placed on series finales, when he decided how HOUSE was going to end, and more…

And why is this a video? You guys too lazy to type, or something? Care to explain what’s the added value in seeing the talking head and hearing the “erm”s and “um”s and all the background chat?

Social Media is video…You are experiencing receiving (or getting) your information in a different form. Print media isn’t dead, but it isn’t how the world gets their news anymore. Times are a changin’ and it is the new ‘way’.

No one is lazy to type…but social media marketing gathers data on what people want and people want to hear another person tell them what is happening. they want to see a clip of a concert rather than read an advertisement for that concert.

Enjoy! and if you want to read….books are my favorite….they still can smell like a good old book…I can’t read on a tablet…I love my books!
