THE MASKED SINGER Season 3: Here Are All the Clues (So Far)

THE MASKED SINGER is back for its third season, and with its post-Super Bowl launch, it’s going to be the biggest season yet.

Per Fox, the 18 contestants have collectively received “69 Grammy Award nominations, 88 Gold records, 11 Super Bowl appearances, three stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, more than 160 tattoos and one title in the Guinness Book of World Records.” Additionally, in Group A, the “roster of six has appeared in nine Super Bowls.”

Here’s what we know about the contestants so far, with updates coming each episode…

Turtle:

• “Starting line of their career.” Surrounded by newcomers at the start.
• Waxing a surfboard.
• Grilling burgers.
• Wants to make a big splash.
• Wants to rebel from a certain way of acting. (Set in a school cafeteria.)

Frog:

• Years ago, someone close to her passed, and it ripped her apart.

• Developed other businesses when her singing career didn’t work out.

Rhino (REVEALED, Barry Zito):

• Gentle giant.
• Masked Quarterly.
• Being on top was an addiction; when he wasn’t the best, he crashed and burned.
• Grand Ole Opry.
• Iced Tea.
• Butterflies on a motorcycle.
• Standing on wing of a plane.
• Risk-taker: has led to many ups and downs.
• South sign while falling.
• Wife gave him stability so he could defy gravity.
• Cut a sandwich/burger in half.
• Playing tennis on the wing of the plane.
• “Family is very important for success. Especially when performing for a king is in your blood.”
• I do not enjoy long walks by the water.
• College best bud: Both wanted to surf and tried it out. Paddle boards. Wears his heart on the sleeve. Potentially Missouri highlighted.
• 1000 card. He and Robin are on the same track, literally.
• Music has been his passion since he was a child.
• For a quarter, he’ll fish you a clue.

• Not as tall as we think he is.

Kitty (REVEALED, Jackie Evancho):

• Feels at home among the “weird and the wild.”
• Telescope and wizardry shown.
• People don’t think of her as the person she’s become; they think of the person she was.

• Sewing is one of her favorite things to do.

• Likes transformations.
• Red riding hood.
• Favorite subject was English. She would write her own science-fiction stories and sell them for a quarter.

• Friend: Green hair, long hair. Fabergé egg. Wrote poems and directed horror films. Told a classmate she could see ghosts. Her dark side will help her slay the competition.
• The first time she met Robin Thicke, it was “lit.”

Astronaut (REVEALED, Hunter Hayes):

• Been hungering for a chance to explore new territories.
• Broom and toolbox in the ship.
• “Not a pitch perfect landing.”
• Circle of life keeps spinning.
• Foothold in new world.
• Overreached and got burned.
• Wandering for 500 days.
• Stevie Wonder is a dear friend.
• “We can all reach the stars. Sometimes it just takes some help from someone from an organized crime family.”
• I’m all for horses.
• Only human.
• Here’s his bro-pilot: Coffee, knows how to lead a crew, two dice on five, but sometimes he can be a space cadet. Astronaut fell down and went “bye bye bye.” Bridge.
• “Mall” sign for LEGO. They were together to celebrate a huge birthday.
• Globe on a record, which breaks.
• Never had traditional voice training.
• Real shy guy.

Banana (REVEALED, Bret Michaels):

• Cowboy hat.
• Late for the stage.
• Not his first rode.
• Tough on the outside and total smoothie on the inside.
• Blue dog collar.
• Use voice in any environment.
• Kid handed him a banana, and it was a sign.
• Bananagement Management.
• 2:13, 6/8 on the clock.
• Said “Git ‘er done.”
• Team called him in, and had concerns about his shelf-life.
• Favorite subject in school was art.
• “What’s more inspiring than doing laundry?”
• Two people, seemingly kids, speak on his behalf: Banana taught them how to drive. Jam container. Built a race track in the backyard. Can laugh through everything.
• Father recently passed away.
• Friendship bracelet for Jenny: ’90s love. They hung out as friends.

• Discovered by another and put on T-Rex island.

• Loves the feeling of being fierce and untamed.
• Only singles and doubles were left.
• Heart was beating like a bumblebee.
• No one wants to be a one-hit wonder.
• “If you dream big, your face can be everywhere, and you’ll never be extinct…unless a meteor hits.”
• I occasionally party with teddy bears.
• T-Rex’s coach: On an airplane. She subscribes to the idea there is no off day. Very meticulous.  Fans of all ages. Floating lips.
• Poodle. They are connected via LEGO Batman.

Swan (REVEALED: Bella Thorne):

• Here and refuses to be tuned out.
• Vampire fangs.
• Intro done in a rhyme.
• Lives her life in overdrive.
• Wonderland.

• Came from nothing and made her career herself.
• Moved west.

Bear (REVEALED: Sarah Palin):

• Been both the hunted and the hunter.
• Can’t see the forest through the trees.

Taco (REVEALED: Tom Bergeron):

• “Comforting part of your life for decades.”
