NEXT LEVEL CHEF, GHOSTS, and ELSBETH

“The Traveling Agent” – Pete discovers a power that he never knew he had – one that brings him closer to his buddy Jay (and further apart), on the CBS Original series GHOSTS, Thursday, April 25 (8:31-9:01 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. Let’s talk about Thursday night’s TV!

NEXT LEVEL CHEF: As someone who has never cooked with kombucha, it was an intriguing challenge. And, man, it’s tough to lose people as we get so close to the finale. I loved that Gordon basically opened his doors to Izahya even though he was cut. I hope he took Gordon up on it/it’s beneficial.

GHOSTS: Oh, I love Pete’s ghost power. It expands the world in an interesting way, but also opens the door for us to meet new ghosts beyond the mansion. (Or Sam.) And what other ghost rules will we learn along the way?! (Him trying to pay his own way—via Sam—was so Pete and sweet.)

And did I die a little in the very best when Irene White popped up as a customer at a big box store who got trampled? I absolutely did. (SUPERSTORE forever, man.) What an unexpected collision of two of my favorite comedies of the past decade.

I’m, admittedly, a little unsure of what to make of the Flower/Thor/Nancy throuple subplot…I assume it won’t last long. (Either due to circumstance or Flower, well, forgetting.) I do hope we get a little sweetness for Flower and Thor before the end of the season next week.

ELSBETH: I didn’t expect Kaya to go to Elsbeth with what she saw, especially given how short a time they’ve known each other. But I love that they’re genuinely friends and she’s trusting her gut…and her gut trusted Elsbeth. And there is just no way this doesn’t lead to an absolute mess as Kaya tries to navigate what Wagner expects of/from her. (Like, how is she going to face him now?) And Elsbeth clearly wants to protect Kaya, too. I’m loving their friendship.
