Mork & Mindy and Newhart were both among my favorite shows when they were on, and Tom Poston was always that nice, funny old guy you just liked whenever he came into a scene. He was reassuring if never really a scene stealer. He added a lot of laughs and fun to some great shows. I didn’t know he was married to Newhart’s wife in the original Bob Newhart Show. He’ll be missed.

For a while it definitely seemed as though if Tom Poston didn’t make an appearance on your show, it wasn’t anything special. Almost like some sort of Christening.
