Justin Timberlake on SNL (What Goes Around…)

WOW! I got a lot of emails today from people that heard the buzz about JT’s performance of “What Goes Around…Comes Around” on SNL last night. It’s an amazing performance, and the arrangement is fierce.   Lucky for you, it’s the holiday season and I am in a giving mood.  So without further ado, check out a few other stellar moments from Justin and his SNL friends.

SNL’s Justin Timberlake and “$%&# in a Box”

December 17, 2006 by
Filed under Saturday Night Live, TV News

The last time Justin Timberlake hosted SNL I think he surprised a lot of people by holding his own against the Saturday Night veterans. When he wasn’t bringin’ it on down to Omletville, he was living it up, on The Barry Gibb Talk Show. It was a great appearance, and definitely one of the best ever by a non-actor (did you see Academy Award nominee Annette Bening host last week…just horrible).

Well last night, the former NSync-er hosted once again to rave reviews and many, many laughs. He revisited the two sketches mentioned above (and yes, we got to see Jimmy Fallon reprise his role too) and added a few more soon to be classic SNL moments to his credit (I’m going to post the videos as soon as I can find them).

The one that had me rolling was “$%&# in a Box” – an SNL short alongside that VERY funny Andy Samberg. You have to check this out.

Title: “The Eye of Jupiter”
Original Airdate: 12/15/06

Previously, Lee Adama loves Kara Thrace. But Kara married Sam. They beat the snot out of each other in love. Roslin conspired with Cottle to hide baby Hera. But Baltar found Hera and gave her to D’anna. They found a food source on the algae planet.

Algae planet. Chief Tyrol leads the crew in gathering algae. Everyone’s extremely dirty and sweaty. Gross for them, great for us. A raptor comes buzzing in. Dualla gives Apollo the big “i know your cheatin’ heart” look as he leaves to greet Starbuck. They make out a little. Somehow I’m very happy and very sad for them all at once. Apollo wants her to divorce Sam. Kara refuses to break her marriage vows. Lee reminds her that every time they are together, that’s breaking it. Kara won’t divorce and Lee won’t cheat anymore so once again they are stuck.

Leona Lewis Wins The X Factor!!!

Leona Lewis Wins The X Factor!!!

I just got word that Leona Lewis is the first female winner of The X Factor. Yay!!! Leona was the only X Factor contestant never to be in the bottom two, and she beat off the competition to win the title of winner 2006. Runner-up Ray Quinn had nothing but compliments for fellow contestant Leona, claiming that she was “fantastic and deserved to win”.

From what I’ve heard, Leona’s first single will be released in the UK next and will surely make its way over to the states soon. I was disappointed to hear that the single will be “A Moment Like This”, a cover of Kelly Clarkson’s American Idol hit. Leona deserves her own tune.

Here’s the moment where Leona is announced the winner:

Just moments after her win, Leona Lewis sang her new single, “A Moment Like This”

A Virtual Tour of Dunder Mifflin

Since it’s not looking likely that I will get that gold leafed invite to the actual set of NBC’s The Office, I guess this is the next best thing.  Head over to NBC.com and take a virtual tour of Dunder Mifflin.  Using the control, you can navigate all around the Scranton branch.  Just be careful not to trip over the camera equipment.

Now I’m sure that they very careful about allowing the camera to reveal much, but they’ve never met ME and have no idea of my talent for finding the hidden gems.  Let’s hope for a slip up or two.

30 Rock Recap: “The Breakup”

December 15, 2006 by
Filed under 30 Rock, TV News

Title: The Breakup
Original airdate: Dec. 14, 2006

I hope no one has gotten too attached to Dennis (Dean Winters) in recent weeks, because he seems to spend the entire time this week stumbling his way out of Liz’s (Tina Fey) life. Like the last few weeks, I wasn’t blown away by this episode, but it was solidly entertaining. I’m really starting to care about these goofballs. A little.

We pick up where we left off, in Liz’s apartment and, of course, Dennis is still there, puncturing holes in her wall in an inept attempt to mount her TV on the wall. So thoughtful of him. Next, a big dog/small horse wanders in and hops on the couch, and there’s a fat guy in a cast lying on her bed.

Liz: Get out. I want you out of here.
Dennis: You can’t kick me out. I love you.
Liz: No. No. Get your stuff and get out. I’m not doing this anymore.
Dennis: You can’t kick me out. I’ve got squatter’s rights.
Liz: Which is it, you love me or you’ve got squatter’s rights?
Dennis: I don’t see how they’re mutually exclusive.

Liz turns to Jenna (Jane Krakowski) for consolation, realizing in the process all her best moments with Dennis were food-related. And we realize she gave him a week to find a new place. So Jenna vows to take Liz out to meet guys.

The Sopranos A&E Connection

Listen up Sopranos fans. Do you think you know everything there is to know about Tony and the crew? Want to prove it? A&E Television has created an interactive game that you can play while you are watching The Sopranos on A&E. Here’s the deal…

The Sopranos A&E Connection
is an interactive game where fantasy sports meets a scavenger hunt. It’s an online game board synched to A&E’s real-time broadcast of the show. Each week, during the television broadcast, players will try to predict what will happen in the episode and earn points based upon the accuracy of their game board. A&E will award weekly prizes ranging from digital cameras, Playstation 3’s, and more to the top scorers and, at the end of the season, the winner will receive his/her own “suitcase full of cash” to the tune of $100,000.

If you want to play, you can learn more about the game and register by visiting the official The Sopranos A&E Connection website – www.suitcaseofcash.com. You can also start collecting your game pieces on December 15. The competition heats up on January 10 during the broadcast of the first two episodes of The Sopranos on A&E and continues each week through the conclusion of season one on February 21, 2007. The Sopranos will air on Wednesdays at 9:00 PM on A&E with two episodes shown back-to-back each week.

The Office Thursday on Give Me My Remote

It’s Thursday, so once again…whatever…you know how we do it around here on Thursdays. You’ll have to forgive the short post today. Just like Dunder Mifflin, my company is also having our Christmas party tonight, and well…the booze is already flowing. So as much as I love Jim, Pam, and the rest of the crew, I also love my Captain Morgan.

LIVE “Office” Chat TONIGHT…
First things first…Yes, Virgina there is a Santa Claus. Yes, friends there WILL be a LIVE Office chat tonight at BuddyTV. Now I can’t guarantee I will be sober, but I will be there to make sure you can all chat away throughout the episode. Since The Office stars at 8/7c tonight, our live chat will start earlier too. So head over to BuddyTV.com at 7:30 EST and chat it up. This is definitely an episode you want to watch with your online Office friends. (Click here to set a reminder for The Office chat at BuddyTV.com)

Tonight on The Office…
Merry Christmas. Ho Ho Ho…Pimp. Christmas might still be a few weeks away, but the folks at Dunder Mifflin are celebrating tonight. Many of you have already read my review of “A Benihana Christmas”, but I know some are avoiding spoilers (more power to you). Tonight’s episode is not to be missed. It’s my personal favorite episode of Season 3. Don’t forget that it starts at 8/7c and it’s a full hour long, so make sure your TiVos are set.

Nup_103554_0385 The Office A Benihana Christmas
Ever been to an awkward office Christmas party? Yeah, that’s nothing compared to the awkwardness at Dunder-Mifflin when the party-planning committee clashes and organizes two rival Christmas bashes.

30_rockjhf 30 Rock The Break-Up
Liz finally figures out what Jack (and the rest of the world) already know — just because you’re single and over 30 doesn’t mean you should put up with a boorish and crude boyfriend (Dean Winters).

408_earthgirls_pregtestdfvg The O.C.The Chrismukk-huh?
It’s a Wonderful Life meets Chrismukkah as Ryan and Taylor work some magic in their little town after a light-hanging mishap lands them in an alternate universe. And they say this show has lost touch with reality. Ha. This will show them.
