The Office at Paley

What do Rainn and Angela think of Dwangela’s future? Is there another love triangle in the works with other DM employees? What does BJ tell us about the future of Jim and Pam? Ah, you’ll have to watch the find out.

Friday Night Lights

Sick of listening to me bitch and moan about how you should be watching Friday Night Lights? The best way to get to me to shut up is to start watching. Bravo is going to make it that much easier for you as they’ll start airing episodes of Friday Night Lights every weekend – starting this weekend.

Beginning this weekend, Bravo will air one episode of Friday Night Lights at 7 p.m. EST each Friday, and then air three episodes on Saturdays beginning at 2 p.m. EST.

You seriously have NO excuses. I expect some comments on Monday thanking me for turning you on to one of the best shows on TV.

Don’t blame me for a shorter than usual Office Thursday. Blame the folks over at NBC that have us in reruns (or variations thereof) until April 5th. There’s not a ton of Office gossip, but you know how this works…what’s mine is yours. It seems that the ladies of Dunder Mifflin are ruling the headlines these days. Nice work! In the immortal words of Fergie “Let’s get it started”

Tonight on The Office…
“Traveling Salesmen & The Return”Special 1 hour “Newpeat”
karen_travelinsalemen.png The Office producers know the fans hate all these damn repeats so tonight they’re trying out a little something new – a spin on the repeat called the “newpeat”. The previously aired “Traveling Salesmen” and “The Return” have been re-edited into an hour long episode complete with new scenes that will introduce a new storyline.

And why are TPTB doing this? Well it’s for those of us die hard Dunder Mifflinites that just need something…anything to tide us over until April 5th. “Their loyalty must be rewarded somehow, and we don’t have the budget to send out 10 million muffin baskets,” says Executive Producer Greg Daniels. Greg, although the muffin basket would be nice, I would be much happier if the “new” storyline you introduced had something to do with Jim breaking up with Karen and Pam declaring her love for Halpert. Too much of a stretch? A girl can dream.

The “Oval” Office …
I usually end The Office Thursday with the video of the week, but this one is so great I had to get right to it. So funny.

It’s so nice to see some of my favorite shows returning with all new episodes. Can’t wait to check out Ugly Betty and Grey’s Anatomy tonight – especially after seeing the clips below. Whenever I find clips over at MeeVee, I will be sure to pass them on (just let me know if I screw up the links, ok?)
Ugly Betty Clip Ugly BettyIcing on the Cake Betty’s orthodontist becomes her date for Charlie’s birthday party; Wilhelmina tries to make Daniel’s hiring of Grace Chin for his father’s defense come between the Meade siblings; and Amanda attracts the attention of a designer.

Grey’s Anatomy Clip Grey’s AnatomyScars & Souvenirs The race for chief heats up as a new competitor enters the race; tensions mount between Izzie and George; Callie must reveal a big secret; Derek treats a patient close to him; and Alex continues his work with Jane Doe (Elizabeth Reaser).

Andy Barker PIAndy Barker, P.I.Season premiere on NBC
Comedian extraordinaire Andy Richter stars as Andy Barker, a painfully ho-hum accountant who is mistaken for a recently retired, hardboiled detective. When Andy assumes the identity of the crime investigator, hilarity ensues. It’s a pilot episode that may actually have wings.

RainesRainesSeries premiere on NBC
Jeff Goldblum stars in this new crime drama with a flair for the supernatural. Homicide victims haunt Detective Michael Raines until each crime is officially solved. The first episode features a haunting that lingers long after the suspect is arrested. Find out what the heck is the matter with this ghost… besides the obvious.

October RoadOctober RoadSeries Premiere on ABC
In this new ABC drama, a hit-it-big author heads back to his hometown and finds a tepid reception. It seems his family and friends aren’t so hip on the gossip he’s been penning, and they want a few explanations. Nick (the author) just wants to tackle a little writer’s block, and gets a whole lot more than he bargained for.

American Idol Sucks

Sanjaya is staying and the FABULOUS Brandon Rogers is leaving. I’m sorry but I can’t write much more right now. This is complete bull. What the hell is wrong with America? People have the obvious right to choose who they want, but people must understand that they are hurting the integrity of the show by voting for someone who is unquestionable the WORST singer on the show. That’s not really subjective. Sanjaya is the worst singer. Maybe people are voting for his hair, or his innocent little boy thing – but this is a singing competition.

Sandra Bullock Gets Revenge on Ellen DeGeneres

A few months back Sandra Bullock took Ellen’s dare to eat a habanero pepper live on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Since Sandra is the coolest chick around she of course did it. While she was dealing with the hotness of the pepper, Ellen surprised Sandra by smashing a bottle over her head (no worries, it was a movie set bottle). Sandy claimed it hurt and she’s ready to take revenge on Ellen.

Check out this clip of Sandra and her “Premonition” co-star, Julian McMahon from tomorrow’s episode of Ellen. Is it just me or would Ellen and Sandra make a great reality show? These chicks are pretty damn funny, and I could watch them all day. Enjoy the clip (from the future).

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Finding Sarah Marshall stars Jason Segel and Kristen Bell

Here’s a movie I will definitely be seeing when it comes out in 2008. It’s called “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and it stars two of my very favorite TV actors – Veronica Mars star Kristen Bell and How I Met Your Mother’s Jason Segal. I think that’s all I needed to know to get my attention. But in case you need a little more, here’s what the movie is all about:

After a devastating break-up with his girlfriend TV sitcom star Sarah Marshall (Bell), a heartbroken and depressed Peter (Segel) heads to Hawaii for a little vacation to try his best to forget every detail of his relationship with Sarah. But love laughs at Peter, because Sarah is vacationing in the same exclusive resort as Peter, along with her new boyfriend.

Segal wrote the script and it will be directed by Nick Stoller.

Bravo Acquires TWOP (Television Without Pity)

March 13, 2007 by

NBC owned Bravo has just acquired one of television’s most popular website, TelevisionWithoutPity.com for an undisclosed sum of money. Here’s an excerpt from the official statement from TWOP:

“Officially, TWoP will be under the Bravo umbrella going forward — part of Bravo’s larger push into online content, which already includes OUTzoneTV.com, BrilliantButCancelled.com, and getTRIO.com.”
………..

“You’re probably asking yourselves, “What does this mean? How can TWoP still be TWoP if it’s owned by a network?” Well, maybe you’re asking yourselves who ate the last cookie, but while we can’t help you with that last question, we can shed some light on the first two.

For starters, it means that TWoP will still be TWoP — that is to say, we’ll be offering the same no-holds-barred commentary and critique we always have. Our new bosses dig what we do, and after all, they were the ones who launched BrilliantButCancelled, the mid-season death watch which predicts the early demise of all the networks’ new shows. So, we’ll continue taking shots at Aaron Sorkin, and we’ll still be covering shows on FOX and CBS and so on.

But it also means that TWoP can get even TWoPpier — partnering with Bravo will give us the opportunity to expand our coverage, in all directions. We can cover more shows, and we can cover shows (and TV in general) in different ways — trend stories, blogs, exclusive interviews, audio and video content. We’ll still provide snarky recaps, and you’ll still be able to visit the virtual water-cooler of the forums, but you can also look forward to podcasts, episode extras, and all sorts of other neat stuff.”

Ohhh, this is some INTERESTING news. Does anyone out there REALLY believe that TWOP is going to stay unbiased and impartial? I think not. They say they are going to get access to more exclusive content and interviews? Great, does that mean we get more Real Housewives of Orange County..because really, we get more of that show and world peace won’t be too far behind.

I’ll be watching this one closely to see how it all plays out.

Listen, I enjoy TWOP (some of the time). Their recaps are some of the best online. Their forums are the most frequented. Their leadership is questionable, at least those picked to moderate their infamous message boards. The mods have been known to expolit their “snark” into a good ‘ol fashioned power trip to the point you feel like you are being punished. Every time I see a mod chastising the readers, I just want to hug them because it’s obvious their mothers didn’t do it enough when they were young. So what does this have to do with Bravo’s acquisition of TWOP? Nothing, I’m just bitching for the sake of bitching. Ah, the beauty of your own blog.

LIVE Blogging American Idol – Top 12

ai_ross_06.jpg

Yes I can finally LIVE blog Idol…woo hoo. It’s all about the original Diva, Diana Ross tonight. She’s mentoring the contestants. Her hair is something fierce. Let’s get to it.

First up…

Brandon Rogers – I think Brandon has one of the best voices in this competition – probably the best of all the guys. I thought that song didn’t work for him, he has more talent than the song allowed for. Does that makes any sense? Did he just forget the words? I think he did. (1-866-IDOLS-01)

Judges: Randy wasn’t impressed and thinks it wasn’t good enough. Paula thinks it was his nerves. Simon was harsh and thought he was a backup singer of a backup singer. Not good.

More homoerotic banter between Ryan and Simon – just make out already!!

Melinda Doolittle – I kind of hate that Melinda is going second. I like when she performs towards the end because it’s like a treat for me, and it helps me get through listening to Sanjaya. Mel is singing “Home” from The Wiz. What can I say, she’s fantastic! One piece of constructive criticism here…I would really love to see her in some new outfits. She wears these dresses that I think age her a bit too much. But really, she is the one to beat in this competition. She’s just fabulous. (1-866-IDOLS-02)

Judges: This wasn’t Randy’s favorite performance but he still loved it. Paula is CRYING, oh here we go. Take the meds Paula, take the meds. Simon loves her – she reminds me of a young Gladys Knight. Praise all around as expected.

Jim and Pam…and Me

Please forgive me for forcing you to look at all these pics of…well, me.  I’m not sure how I forgot to upload this picture before but I just had to.  I hate sitting down in photos but John thought it would be a good pic (and really, if he told me to stand on my head for the pic I would have done it).  I prefered our original shot of me standing in the middle of Jim and Pam, only because I secretly had fantasties about being the only one able to keep them apart…I kid, I kid. But hey, it’s rare to see Jim and Pam together these days so I had to share the pic.

The Lampshades in L.A.

The Lampshades

I’m still playing catch up on all the fun things I did while I was out in L.A.. One of the BEST nights of the whole trip was when I met up with some friends and we checked out Kate Flannery and Scot Robinson’s “The Lampshades” at IO West. We rocked out in the front row and laughed our assess off. Seriously, it’s good stuff. This is NOT the Kate Flannery we see on The Office every week. Although Kate’s “Lampshades” alter ego (Kassie Chew) and her Office alter ego (Meredith Palmer) do share a similar fondness for the booze – but who can blame them.

“The Lampshades” is a great time and if you are lucky enough to be in LA during the first Saturday of each month, I suggest you check ’em out. But get their early – tickets go FAST!! (click here to check out som funny videos of the show)

Here are a few pics of our night at “The Lampshades”. You never know who you are going to bump into there. We not only got some time with Kate and her Lampshades partner, Scot, but we also ran into Karly Rothenberg (Madge, The Office), Bobby Ray Shafer (Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration, The Office) and Neil Flynn (The Janitor, Scrubs).
