The Office Thursday on GMMR

It’s Thursday…and look at this, we’ve got another new episode of THE OFFICE. Gotta love that. Just a few short news items to catch up on this week. I’m looking forward to watching tonight’s episode with the BuddyTV crew as I missed last week’s ep because of the World Series (not that I’m complaining) but I did miss watching along with everyone. If you’re online tonight you should join us.

Updates: Kate’s blog, new E! videos and a new radio interview with B.J. Novak

Tonight on The Office….
Rashida Jones‘Branch Wars’ | 9pm on NBC
Karen’s return to Scranton causes a ruckus when she courts Stanley to relocate, prompting Michael to go on the offensive and recruit Jim in his battle. Elsewhere, a “Finer Things Club” riles the employees. (Promo #1)

B.J. Novak on On-Air with Ryan Seacrest…
BJ NovakRyan Seacrest interviewed B.J. Novak on his morning radio show this morning. Listen to the broadcast and here B.J. talk about how Ryan became Michael’s boss, the rumors of the spin-off and more. (Listen now)

LIVE Office Chat Tonight…
Time: 8:30pm EST. Place: BuddyTV.com Yup, our crew will once again be gathering to watch THE OFFICE together tonight. If you’d like to join us, we’d love to have you. Hope to see you guys there tonight. Set a reminder now! (GMMR’s/THE OFFICE TVj sessions @ Buddy TV)

The Office on E!…
E! Video E!’s Kristin Dos Santos spent a day on set while they were filming this week’s episode. She got to talk to Steve, Rainn, John, Rashida and even this week’s guest direct, Joss Whedon. There will be more videos from E!’s set visit later today, and I’ll be sure to update this post once they are launched. A little birdie told me that today’s video might feature a little more of my boy John Krasinski, so ladies you’ll want to check back soon. Here are the videos posted so far: (Steve & Rainn | John & Rashida | Joss Whedon | Steve, Rainn, John, Joss & Rashida– NEW!)

From the Desk of Meredith Palmer…
When I first updated earlier today Kate’s TV Guide blog wasn’t yet live. But I’m happy to report that it is now and that it’s filled with her love of all things Scranton…and Office fans. Make sure you check it out and be sure to leave Kate a comment, because I know she reads them all. (Read Kate’s Blog)

The Office Convention…
It still pains me to know that I missed such an amazing event. I’m glad to know that so many of you had such a wonderful experience. And because The Office fans are the best, even those of us who weren’t able to attend got to witness some of the best moments from the convention. NBC.com has a bunch of videos and pics, as does the Office LJ community. But look no further than the ultimate Office blog, OfficeTally.com to find anything and everything you want to know about what went down in Scranton. (Office Tally’s convention coverage)

Do You Miss Roy?
RoyWell I can’t say that I miss Roy Anderson, but I certainly miss seeing David Denman on a weekly basis. Just a reminder that David will be guesting on tonight’s episode of “Grey’s Anatomy”. So set the TiVos and watch Grey’s tonight…only after you’ve watched The Office of course. And here’s to hoping that we see Roy back sometime in the future (as long as he’s not messing with Jim and Pam I’d love to see him around).

In Case You Missed It…

  • There have been a few OFFICE related posts this week, and in case you missed it I wanted to remind you that there are reports that NBC is considering an OFFICE spin-off. Although this story has had a lot of buzz this week, it’s not the first time we’re hearing of it. NBC President and Office producer, Ben Silverman, made mention of this premise in the past. It looks like it could be happening – I guess we’ll wait and see.
  • JKrasThe boyfriend has a a few things going on this week. First, the DVD release of LICENSE TO WED was this week. I, of course, bought it the day it was released, but then received a copy of it in the mail as well – not sure who sent it to me because there was no note. But thanks to the anonymous gifter from Los Angeles…that was really sweet of you. Also John Krasinski’s new Gap ad was revealed this week and he looks all kinds of warm and cozy. And finally, there were rumors swirling that John Krasinski would be hosting SNL in December. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I checked with John’s team and I can confirm that he will not be hosting later this year. Fingers crossed for April, perhaps around the time of the release of ‘Leatherheads’. And that’s all the JKras news I have for you today. Still keeping hope alive that he and B.J. come home for the holidays and I get to see them kickin’ around town. (I don’t have the cajones to ask for an interview on their Thanksgiving break but if I see them out and about I’ll be sure to try to get some scoop)

    OMG, John…. *dies*

I think I should be concentrating on more than John in that tshirt, but wow.

How am I supposed to study now?

Its crazy that I am not able to watch tonight, but I can’t wait to catch up later!

I love John way to much for my own good.

Tonight’s episode is going to be SO good – I can feel it!! I’m staying away from all promos, and wont watch Kristen’s videos until tomorrow. I’m so excited…with Karen coming back it’s gotta get good!! 🙂

I really hope JKras gets to host SNL sometime, as well as any of The Office actors/actresses. I loved John, Steve, and Rainn in those E! videos. I love this show!

Thank you for GMMR’s Office Thursday! It’s always a highlight of my day. I can’t wait to see the new E! Jkras video. Also, John hosting SNL, maybe?? That would be amazing!!!

  6. Jennie on November 1st, 2007 2:38 pm

I can’t wait to see Karen back (mostly so she can see Pam and Jim together) which I know is mean, but hey. I also would love to see Dwight try to hit on Karen to make Angela jealous, but that isn’t too likely to happen. Maybe now that Ryan is evil, he and Karen can form some sort of alliance! So many possibilities with this new season, so little time!

Also, how adorable is my husband for surpising me with the License to Wed DVD yesterday? He usually rolls his eyes whenever I swoon over John, so I was really surprised/touched that he bought me the DVD without me asking him to.

So looking forward to tonight’s Office. It looks like it will be so good.

I love License to Wed, I still remember going to the premiere! It was so awesome.

    Hooray Office Thursday!!

CrazyGringa – that is so sweet of your hubby. I tried to get mine to rent it this week but he came home with Transformers instead.

However, equally adorable, he did let me drag him to see it on July 4th (I had to sit through Die Hard 4 first, but it wasn’t too bad) and when Ben writes his vows to Sadie in the sand outside her hotel window at the end, get this, he…..CRIED!! Big strong man cried. It was really sweet, but I couldn’t contain my laughter in the theater.

Kath – I forgot to mention how much I love your collage pic for the top of this post, and I know those aren’t easy to do, but you could have cropped it a little lower, we can’t actually see Jim & Pam holding hands.

I’m so happy it’s Office Thursday again! Best day of the week!

I really think tonight’s episode will be a great one – personally I’m glad to have Karen/Rashida back, but just for this one episode. I wouldn’t mind seeing her from time to time, though, butting heads with Michael. I think it was a good story choice to have her become the head of one of the other branches since it could give the writers an option to bring Karen back as needed, though of course not to break up JAM!

I’m still a bit concerned about this possible spinoff since this time it seems more likely than in the past when we’ve heard rumors of it. At least it won’t be based on any current character, but I hope it also won’t take away any of the writers. I’m glad that in BJ’s interview, though, he indicated that they’re aware that they need to tread carefully in that area.

Oh and I definitely want to see License to Wed – I saw photos of J. Kras in both a Cubs hat and an NU shirt in the movie! As if he wasn’t already one of my dream men! 😉

  14. JennyL on November 1st, 2007 4:50 pm

License to Wed is a great movie. Loved it -and loved the bloopers at the credits.

  15. Clare on November 1st, 2007 5:44 pm

    Emily??!!… EMILY ???!!oh…phew okay. 😉

  16. CrazyGringa on November 1st, 2007 5:50 pm

HealthcareHottie- That is adorable of your husband to have cried during the vows in the sand scene. My hubby went with me to watch it in the theatre too (but no crying). I had to watch Transformers with him though so we actually watched both movies on 4th of July. Compromise.

  17. HealthcareHottie on November 1st, 2007 7:21 pm

CrazyGringa – Compromise, that’s what marriage is all about, right? Although I think I got the better end of the deal because we actually did a TRIPLE header that day. Hey my son was away at camp, so why not? First we saw Die Hard (got that out of the way, although I did actually like it), then we saw License to Wed and then we saw Evan Almighty. So really got my fill of Office actors this past Independance Day. I had never spent the entire day at the movies before. It was actually kind of fun.

I kind of feel bad for you though, having to sit through Transformers. Sorry about that.

  18. Kate on November 1st, 2007 11:02 pm

    Hi Kath,

I just wondered… do you regularly see BJ and John hanging around your city?

I just wondered b/c I thought the Boston area was big but now I’m thinking it has a small town feel!

  19. CT on November 1st, 2007 11:03 pm

Are we getting an Office recap this week? Pretty please? I was sad we didn’t get one last week. 🙂

  20. Give Me My Remote on November 1st, 2007 11:09 pm

Kate – No, I have never seen John or BJ around. Just wishful thinking on my part. I happen to live in the same town where John and BJ grew up. Newton is a lot smaller than Boston. But the chances of just randomly bumping into either of them is still pretty slim.

CT – this week’s recap is already up

I believe the comment that should go with the picture of Dwight is…

“American Airlines Flight 1535, you are clear for takeoff…”

And the caption below the images should read

“Dwight moonlights as the only hovering Flight Controller in Second Life”
