CAPRICA Gets a Series Pick-up

Good news for BATTLESTAR GALACTICA fans.

Sci Fi Channel has given a series pickup to “Caprica,” the prequel to the channel’s signature series “Battlestar Galactica.”
The project, which is set 50 years before the events in “Battlestar” on the home world of Caprica, hails from “Battlestar” masterminds Ronald D. Moore and David Eick.
“Caprica,” starring Eric Stoltz, Paula Malcomson, Esai Morales and Polly Walker.
Are you excited? I am. I’m glad BSG is going to live on. And I’m also excited for Eric Stoltz. Dude, Stoltz!

When does it premier?
Sci Fi says the series won’t air until 2010 with shooting to begin in Vancouver summer of 2009. They are waiting for a bit to get all the old BSG writers to finish up with their current non-BSG related projects. 🙂
