Summer Glau to Enter the DOLLHOUSE

According to Michael Ausiello, another familiar face from the Whedonverse will be appearing on DOLLHOUSE next summer. Summer Glau, of the recently canceled TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES will be hanging at the house next season. Well, kind of. Although she would be perfectly poised to play one of the dolls/actives, Joss is looking to add a little surprise and delight by having Glau play, get this…a normal girl.
“I mentioned it to her before [SCC] was canceled. I was like, ‘You know, we should get you in the ‘house.’ But first we have to come up with something that works.” And casting her as a doll would not work, insists Whedon. “Summer would be perfect to play an active, but she’s done that [type of role] a lot,” he says. “I’d rather see her play someone who talks too much. The most fun I have is when I get somebody who’s good and comfortable at doing something, and then I make them do something else. Summer said to me, ‘I would like to play a normal girl before I die of extreme old age.”
Summer will be a welcome addition to DOLLHOUSE and she might even bring along a few T:SCC fans with her. DOLLHOUSE needs all the eyeballs it can get so fresh blood with a built-in fan base can’t hurt.
Tell me DOLLHOUSE and T:SCC fans – are you excited about seeing Summer on the show next season? Are you hoping for a guest stint or do you think she should stick around for a little while.

I’d love to see Glau on the show.
Personally though, I think I would slightly have preferred that Terminator got another season over Dollhouse, mostly due to the pretty exciting last scene of the (now series) finale.

I am super excited that Summer might be on Dollhouse! I think that Joss brings out the best in her. I would love to see her play a normal for once, and see her get to stick around. Summer Glau is the next action star

I have never watched Dollhouse. If Summer becomes a regular in it, I most definitely will. I will watch *anything* if Summer is in it.
We need Summer all year round. So another venue for her is always welcome and Dollhouse needs the help.
Excited to see where that goes. Summer is awesome and would have been a great active. It will be interesting to see her as “normal”!
As someone who watched Firefly: The Complete Series, in the last week (and will be watching Serenity tonight) … that is VERY exciting news! I love Summer as River, and know she can totally kick butt. I agree, she would have made a fantastic active, but seeing her as a “normal” person? Interesting. Maybe a handler? Or someone in the FBI? Or perhaps just a normal girl that one of the dolls befriends? Awesome news!!!
I’d much rather see Summer get her old job back as Cameron on TSCC, whch did not deserve to be cancelled. Dollhouse is not nearly as good a show, and I have no idea why they are beating that dead horse.
I will watch it to see how she affects the cast, but the premise behind Dollhouse is just not there. Glau deserves better.
