Tonight’s TV Spotlight…Wednesday, August 5, 2009

August 5, 2009 by

Nothing good on tonight. I think I may just read a book and turn in early.

Or…

I could watch part one of the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE finale!! Can you believe that tonight is the last performance night of the season? I can’t. Cah-razy! I’m so very excited and I hope you are too. Dan and I will be watching together and getting out our final performance night SYTYCD podcast of the summer.

But of course SYTYCD isn’t the only show on the old tube tonight, here are a few highlights from tonight’s TV lineup. If I missed anything leave me a comment or tweet me at twitter.com/gmmr.

So You Think You Can Dance | 8pm on Fox
Tonight the guys and the girls are paired up and the final four dancers will take the stage for the last time in competition. Your votes tonight will determine whether Jeanine, Kayla, Brandon or Evan is crowned America’s Favorite Dancer on tomorrow night’s results show.

Wipeout | 8pm on ABC
Former fan favorites return for an all-star episode in which contestants take on an obstacle course in hopes of winning the $50,000 grand prize. [GMMR: What? An All Star ep of WIPEOUT? Hilarious]

Leverage | 9pm on TNT
“The Fairy Godparents Job”
A clinic is forced to close because its funds were lost in a Ponzi scheme; the team goes after a corrupt investment banker who has money hidden from the authorities.

Dark Blue | 10pm on TNT
“K-Town”
Ty and Dean team up to crush a rough-hewn Korean mob boss, but tension grows between the two undercover men when Ty works cautiously and Dean adopts a rash, less careful approach. [GMMR: Raise your hand if you are watching!]

The Philanthropist| 10pm on ABC
“Kashmir”
One of Phillip and Teddy’s college friends asks for help negotiating with Indian and Pakistani governments; Teddy goes missing.

Top Chef Masters | 10pm on Bravo
“Dietary Restrictions”
The five remaining chefs engage in a battle of burgers; guests actress Zooey Deschanel and filmmaker Morgan Spurlock. [GMMR: Seems “Masters” was a bit of a bust for the fans.  But TOP CHEF will be returnning soon and so will SB and her weekly reviews.]

On the late night couch…

  • The Late Show with David Letterman: Johnny Depp, Megan Fox (R 6/25/09)
  • The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien:Sienna Miller, Steve Schirripa

For me, tonight will be ALL about the SYTYCD finale performance night! I’ll even drink to that. I’ll be watching it alone, which will be sad, but I’ll be routing for my faves. I’m hoping you’ll have the play-by-play tomorrow, so I can watch the final episode of the season with my online SYTYCD friends!

I’m watching Top Chef Masters even though it doesn’t compare the real Top Chef. I’ve become invested in the outcome though, because I absolutely adore Art Smith – I want to hang out with him!

I’m glad that I’m not alone in my love for Art Smith.

Def SYTYCD and some Leverage. I gave up on Dark Blue. It is not doing it for me. And some Chelsea with Chris Hardwick! When’s the next Big Brother update? Do you only do those on Friday?

I’m still holding onto Dark Blue, though I didn’t like last week as much as the week before. I think that once they give every player a showcase episode it will become more even in quality week to week.
