Who Went Home on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE? - Give Me My Remote : Give Me My Remote

August 5, 2010 by

With only four dancers left before next week’s finale, it’s going to be tough to see anyone go home tonight. But we must bid farewell to another dancer. Who will it be – Robert, Kent, Adechike or Lauren? Stay tuned, we’ll know soon enough.

Tonight’s show started off with a group number, but sadly the Top 4 dancers didn’t take the stage. You know I love me some All Stars, but it seemed a bit odd not to have the remaining contestants open up the last show before the finale.

Before we get into the results, I just wanted to mention that SYTYCD’s own Travis Wall just announced via Twitter that he will be choreographing this year’s MTV VMAs! What a great honor for Travis. I can’t wait to tune in to see what he pulls out for the big night. Congrats Trav!!

I’m going to date myself here, but every time I see tonight’s musical guest, Janelle Monae, I can’t help but think of “Mirror Image”, the identical twin dancers from the movie “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”. Does anyone know who I’m talking about? Anyone?

It’s time to find out the first two dancer advancing to next week’s finale. Those dancers are…Lauren and Kent (Um…YAY!!!)

(Insert sigh of relief)

That means either Robert or Adechike are going home tonight. But before they get their results, we are treated to a performance by the legendary Desmond Richardson. Stunning! And Flo rida (dude, I’m not even cool enough to know how to spell his name).

Now comes the worst part of the night. After making it to the Top 4, it is the end of the road for Adechike. Given his shaky start, Ade really came a long way and he should be very proud of his journey.

So next week’s finale will feature Kent, Lauren and Robert. Who will be this year’s winner and America’s Favorite Dancer? Weigh in below.

So happy for Robert! I know we won’t win, but my favorites never win, so…
At Least I get to see him dance another week.

I am happy with the top 3! I need to check out the GMMR early season posts to see what my early season picks were…i think it might have been Ashley & Robert. But I also love Lauren & Kent (Ohio represent!)
so I will be happy no matter what next week. I think the judges are pleased too, which is good.

    thanks for the post, Kath!

ps…any chance of a live hat for the finale eps next week? I love those! I would def participate!

uh, yeah, I know EXACTLY who you are talking about with the mirror dancers. I love that movie!

Since we’re probably from the same generation… Mirror Image always makes me think of the twins from Double Trouble, particularly the episode where one entered a dance competition but got injured so her twin had to take her place.

Anyway, I am thrilled with the top three… judges got their two favorites (and mine) and Robert seems deserving for the third spot. I just was never really hooked on Adechike.

@Seels: Sadly I will be on vacation next week. I’m hoping to be able to watch it live. Bad timing.

Thank you for the comparison to the Girls Just Want to Have Fun movie. It was bothering me that I couldn’t figure out who she reminded me of, and that was exactly it.

So excited for the finale. I have tickets to the tour and am going to see Step Up 3D this weekend.
