CASTLE Recasts the Mayor - Give Me My Remote : Give Me My Remote

CASTLE Recasts the Mayor

November 14, 2011 by

Castle has long used his friendship with the mayor to get what he wants, but when the mayor reappears on CASTLE in an upcoming episode, he’s going to look a little different than fans remembered — ABC has confirmed to Give Me My Remote that Derek Webster will take over the role from Joseph C. Phillips. (Phillips appeared twice in the show’s first season.) TVLine was first to report the casting change.

But why is the mayor finally making an onscreen appearance after being MIA for several seasons? To try and get some info on “Dial M for Mayor,” I went to CASTLE creator Andrew Marlowe to see what he could share…

“Episode 12, a young woman is found murdered in a car, and we trace the car back and it traces to the motor pool of the mayor,” Marlowe teased. “And as you know, the mayor is one of Castle’s champions. And suspicion falls on [the mayor] and if he goes down, it will threaten the Castle-Beckett relationship because Gates won’t allow Castle to be at the precinct anymore. So there’s a lot at stake and there are some conspiracy elements. It’s an interesting episode.”

Anyone else really intrigued about how Castle, Beckett and the entire team will react when they realize their entire dynamic could be threatened?

I am VERY intrigued!! I think we have already seen a glimpse of their reaction in episode 4.01, when Castle was thrown to the curb by Gates and in the last episode, where Beckett was really trying to “sell” Castle as an indispensable team member.
So I’m expecting that in this episode they will seal or break the deal, for good with Gates.
What I hope, is that in this investigation involving his friend (the Mayor), Castle will shine and show all his assets, not only in term of investigation skills but also in term of showing his loyalty and integrity.
    Castle season 4 rocks!!

You really make it seem really easy together with your presentation however I find
this matter to be really one thing that I believe I’d never understand.
It seems too complex and very broad for me. I am having a look ahead
to your subsequent put up, I’ll try to get the hold of it!
