March 19, 2012 by

They’re back!

It’s been a long span of time without BONES on our television screens, but in two weeks, they’ll be back to solving those icky, icky crimes. Oh, and there’s the little matter of Brennan being ready to give birth at practically any second. No big deal, right? (I kid, I kid!)

Can’t wait another second for your favorites to be back in your lives? Well, you’re in luck.

Fox has just released some pictures from “The Prisoner in the Pipe” and in addition to the normal case photos, they may also include a few shots of a certain little bundle of joy…

Nice. Though I can’t imagine having a baby and standing up to hold it at a party the same day! Ah, Hollywood 🙂

I think my fave is pic 3

  2. Shep on March 19th, 2012 4:27 pm

I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many shots of Brennan smiling.

Is it 2 weeks from tonight yet? Because I seriously can. not. wait.

    Thanks for the great pictures!

Let me get this straight…………………He delivers the baby, (bloody shirt-grape jelly), she has the baby in a barn and the ambulance NEVER came. Nobody called 911 I guess. She doesn’t go straight to the hospital to get a good APGAR score for the new born. Of course there would be no worry for the child’s health. And of course with blood and junk on your dress and dress shirt you would want to join into a party atmosphere.

    Ok, I will stop now.

Picture no. 9 is beautiful, sweet and all kinds of wonderful… and also made possible only by Hollywood magic… only in the movies 🙂

  6. Rita on March 19th, 2012 7:29 pm

Jasper, I’m sure someone called 911 when she was giving birth and I’m also sure they went to the hospital. The party looks like a SURPRISE party so no time to change and shower! Sometimes in a TV show you have to create the realistic situation.

  7. Sarah on March 19th, 2012 7:29 pm

    @Jasper
Before going all negative, maybe you could consider that after the baby is born, they go to the hospital they were heading to, have Brennan and the baby checked, and then go home (yes, it would be a little fast on the same day, but on the other hand, it is Brennan, and she never does things the usual way), and that, when home, they find out that Angela and the others are waiting for them, having some welcome party organised (since it’s most likely that Booth or Brennan called Angela at least since she is Brennan’s best friend).

  8. Jillian on March 19th, 2012 8:01 pm

@Jasper They probably called 911 or take the baby to the hospital to get Brennan and the baby checked out. They just didn’t change their clothes. Maybe you should actually watch the episode before you get so negative….

  9. Jillian on March 19th, 2012 8:05 pm

@Jasper …and the party is a surprised party thrown by the team. It was confirmed at Paley. They had the baby, they probably go to the hospital to get the baby and Brennan checked out and then, go back home and the whole team is there. Again, maybe you should actually watch the episode before complaining about every little detail…

Way too much analysis of a TV baby’s birth, LOL. After this ridiculously long hiatus, I’m just happy to suspend belief, sit back and enjoy the episode, which promises to be all kinds of wonderful! I still can’t get over those pics; Booth, Brennan and their baby—who would have thunk it??!!

  11. Charmaine on March 19th, 2012 10:19 pm

I am so excited!! And yes, you can be standing up walking around after having birth (I was all but begging to leave hours after having my second and third), esp. if you had a natural childbirth. I think moms who have their baby at home (or in a barn or stable or whatever) are not required to take baby to hospital. They probably have them checked by a midwife or taken to the pediatrician the next day maybe?? But what do I know. I am just happy to see these pictures, yay!!!!

Anyone notice the “Welcome S-T-A”? Is that supposed to be the beginning of her name?

Lovely lovely photos. There is always theatrical licence in these shows usually lots of it, but hey! what the hell! In this episode I am prepared to suspend reality for a bit of ‘gooeyness’ Just hope that Brennan’s champagne isn’t the real thing though, particularly if she is breast feeding Ha!

@Jasper- I will join in agreement with what I think you are pointing out as the Disney-esc continuation of their relationship arc. I think escapism is lovely and I know full well that many TV shows don’t want to and don’t have to get the facts right, however there is a tad bit of realism to the relationship side of things that needs to be done in a series. Placing two of the most shipped couples on TV in an episode where they give birth to their first child should not come off as purely funny and in a funny setting. My hopes is that this would be a very noteable episode and a fan favorite afterward.

Possible spoilers: so don’t go there if you are not into that

I have almost resigned myself to the fact that soon enough, Booth and Bones will be split up. DB all but said that we are are not going to be happy come May 14th. Pellant is in the episode and who knows, perhaps Booth is forced to leave Bones and baby due to ptential harm?? ED’s interview and the facial expression coupled with her statement that she hopes Booth and Bones will make it or survive the events of the season finale sealed the deal for me. I have to remind myself that two men are setting the series arc for the B&B relationship (see HH’s comments at Paleyfest panel). He and SN are clearly the steering factor for the relationship angle. Just my opinion, but, it kinda shows. From the detailed conversation over tea and goodies with my friend who attended Paley and saw PitPipe episode, it seems like picking a writer that is known for Fox animated comedy might not have been a direction that I would have choose. She pointed out in a very humorous way, that we both obviously did not know what is “funny” anymore to the general TV audience as we both thought the three Wisemen gag by SN was pretentious. I am glad it was cut out.

I look at it like this, the barn scene is a swipe at the Athiest side of Bones, Booth evidently studied up in his off time on how to deliver a baby and remain calm even though it is his child and it’s no where near a hospital which is what his character would want. Kudos to him, and we the fans need to get past the silliness of wanting to see something, anything normal. It is much easier to write something funny than to follow through with something serious or semi-factual as it relates to the character traits and relationship arcs. The fact that they do not kiss, not even a peck on the cheek after the baby is born is completely disarming to my fan obession.

(Shrugs shoulders- what do you do, it’s filmed. Wait for May 14, as it appears this all will resolve to its’ former self or close to it.)

  15. Jillian on March 22nd, 2012 11:26 pm

@AJ B&B won’t break up. Hart already confirmed many times that B&B won’t break up this season. It’s possible that they are forced to separate because of Pellant, but they definitely won’t have a huge “You never loved me” break up fight. SN just confirmed via TV Guide today that the big change in the finale is going to be job related and will effect their personal lives.

And just because they don’t kiss when their baby is born means that they aren’t in love and that they are going to break up? Did you see the sneak peaks that came out today?? We are going to get plenty of kissing after the baby born. Hart already confirmed that he’s going to do a storyline where they get their sex life back on track later this season.

  16. Therese on March 23rd, 2012 3:47 pm

Aw, is she wearing Booth’s jacket? 🙂

  17. Therese on March 23rd, 2012 4:02 pm

@Jillian – I surely hope you’re right!!! (About the finale.) I thought because of the new serial killer and all, that they would kill off the baby. Honestly, I was worried. But “job related” could be bad too. What would happen if they couldn’t work together anymore? ED said at PaleyFest that it would change things “kind of forever and not in a good way.”

    Watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=d-73waGatQ0

*Fingers crossed that it won’t be too bad.

  18. AJ on March 26th, 2012 2:21 pm

@ Jillian- While I have not seen the April 2nd episode with the exception of listening to the detailed account through a trusted Bones fanatic friend of years (she expended a large amount of money to just go to Paley (!!?), I fear for the reaction to it. I will say that she is a very grounded and logical fan and she found herself thinking the episode was too far fetched, even for Bones. She actually thought is was done cheaply, and at one point hoped they would have just cut the birth scene because of the what she called the eyerolling factor. She did comment that the episode was perfectly suited for a much younger audience.

As far as the interviews that you mention, I guess you and I are hearing or understanding different things or have opposite takes- I understand that in the end B&B will end up together. That end would be in the final Bones season. When DB gives spoilers he is ver accurate, it is why HH cringes when he tweets. DB and ED’s interviews seemed very upfront about a personal life change for them. SN’s interview confirms that. Work related that changes their personal life forever. While I do not care for SN’s interview due to past comment about fans, I do think he does NOT give away clues. DB on the other hand plainly stated, we are not going to be happy.

I know, I know, just because they don’t kiss. I am sorry, I am on the bandwagon with many others, too much left out from end of Season six forward for me to be the obsessive shipper any longer. I want to know how it all ends I guess.
