Comments Off on Join GMMR As We Embark On ‘Oprah’s Lifeclass: The Tour’

Oprah is taking the world’s largest classroom on the road, and she has kindly invited GIVE ME MY REMOTE.com along for the adventure.

[Remember that time that Oprah and Gayle went on that road trip together? Well, swap out Gayle for Kath and it’s just like that. Ok, or nothing like that at all…but still, Oprah!]

Later this morning I’ll be boarding a plane to St. Louis to meet up with Oprah and the OWN TV team for behind the scenes access to Oprah’s Lifeclass: the Tour.

I’m heading backstage to see first hand how a production of this magnitude comes together. I’ll be there to watch Oprah rehearse and later talking to the producers and talent needed to bring the world’s largest classroom not only to those in the studio audience, but to you at home watching on OWN, and those around the globe who are watching online and participating via social media. [Learn more about how you can participate in Lifeclass online.]

Airing every Monday night at 8/7c for the next six weeks, Oprah’s Lifeclass: the Tour, will feature eye-opening discussions with superstar teachers on television, on the Web and in person.

Live the in Audience Tomorrow Night
Tomorrow night, during the LIVE season premiere, Iyanla Vanzant returns and joins Oprah as they inspire viewers to stop the pain in their lives and create the loving relationships they deserve. In this special event, Iyanla creates the ultimate lesson plan for Oprah’s Lifeclass: the Tour viewers.

If you watched Oprah’s Lifeclass last season, then you know that there is much to be gained by participating in whatever capacity is right for you. Oprah has provided workbook questions to help viewers continue the conversation and take more from each lessons.  Check out the Life Work questions to accompany tomorrow night’s episode on stopping the pain.

I’ll be in the audience and maybe even live blogging and I look forward to sharing this experience with all of you.

Hang out with me during my adventure!

It’s not everyday that I have the chance to meet and possibly interview Oprah Winfrey so I’m hoping that all of you will be in this with me over the next two days. This whole adventure will be so much for with all of you there!

  • Twitter: I’ll be live tweeting from backstage and in the audience via @GMMRtv. The hashtag is #lifeclass, so make sure you’re following along.
  • Google+: I’m going to be posting from updates from GMMR’s new Google+ page, so if we aren’t connected on Google+ let’s remedy that today! Who knows, maybe we can even do a live Google Hangout and I can take some questions directly from YOU!
  • Live Blogging: From what I was told, I’ll also be able to live blog directly from the audience during the LIVE taping of the show. How great is that?

Stay tuned to my Twitter account, Google+ page and GIVE ME MY REMOTE.com for more as the plans unfold. But it’s my hope that you all can be watching at home tomorrow night and we can share the experience right here on GMMR.

Questions for Oprah?

If you have any questions for Oprah, her producers (and don’t think for a minute I won’t be keeping an eye our for Sheri Salata) most definitely leave a comment and let me know. I’ll also be speaking with Iyanla Vanzant and Tony Robbins, so if you have anything you want me to ask them just shout it out (ok, maybe not shout it, but leaving a comment on here, over at G+ or Twitter might work better.)

Upcoming Lifeclasses:

  • Oprah and Tony Robbins Live from New York: Living Fearlessly
Oprah and Tony Robbins work with viewers to help them move past the fear in their lives that’s keeping them from achieving their dreams. Tune in or log on to Oprah.com Monday, April 2, at 8/7c!
  • Oprah and Bishop T.D. Jakes: Live with Purpose
Bishop T.D. Jakes joins Oprah to inspire viewers to live with purpose. New Orleans Saints breakout star Jimmy Graham is also featured and shares his personal story of triumph over adversity on the road to discovering his ultimate purpose. Tune in or log on to Oprah.com Monday, April 9, at 8/7c!

FRINGE Recap: ‘A Short Story About Love’

As frustrating as I found the end of the last FRINGE episode, “A Better Human Being,” to be, the conclusion of “A Short Story About Love” was equally — if not more so — rewarding.

I know, I know, we should talk about all the good stuff that came before that, so let’s get started…

GCB: David James Elliott Previews Ripp’s DALLAS-Inspired Costume and Why His Relationship With Carlene is Solid

Comments Off on GCB: David James Elliott Previews Ripp’s DALLAS-Inspired Costume and Why His Relationship With Carlene is Solid

It’s time for a costume party this Sunday on a brand new GCB, and naturally the guests are coming dressed as their favorite Texan.

“It’s a pretty funny episode,” David James Elliott (Ripp) told me earlier this week. “Ripp gets dressed up as Larry Hagman. ‘He’s done a lot of good things with quitting smoking and the liver disease and such.’ That’s one of [Ripp’s] lines. He already dresses like Larry Hagman, doesn’t he? So Ripp doesn’t stray far from what he normally wears. That’s as close to a costume as I think he can get…The rest of them are dressed up as more broad characters. But good ol’ Ripp, he has some issues.”

One issue Ripp won’t be having? Major marital drama.

According to Deadline (which was first to report the news), she’ll play “an earth-mother type whose daughter shared a gift similar to that of Martin’s son Jake.” According to the network, no other details (character name, start date, etc.) are available at this time.

For fans of the SEX AND THE CITY television series (and its two movies), we’ve seen Carrie go through countless loves before settling down and marrying her Mr. Big. But now? If The CW’s new THE CARRIE DIARIES pilot comes gets picked up, we’ll get to explore her life as a teen.

“The search for Carrie Bradshaw was an exciting adventure,” THE CARRIE DIARIES writer/executive producer Amy B. Harris said in a statement. “Having been a part of the Sex and the City series, I felt such an honor and responsibility to the fans of the show to find someone who embodied the spirit of Manhattan’s favorite ‘It’ girl. When AnnaSophia Robb walked into the room, we knew we had found her. Her grace, intelligence, sense of fun and her empathetic nature make her the perfect girl to bring our young Carrie to life. The fact that she loves a gorgeous pair of heels doesn’t hurt either.”

Take a look at the new Carrie!

FRINGE finally returns tonight, so make sure to watch what’s sure to be another great episode. (And you’ll make GMMR’s FRINGE fanatic Marisa happy!)

If you’re looking for something else, some of your favorite reality shows are coming back, including WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? and KITCHEN NIGHTMARES.

Keep reading to see what else is new!

Her journey leads her to San Francisco where she learns of her great great grandfather, a Jewish immigrant, and his involvement in launching Wells Fargo. As she continues her search, Helen finds that her great great grandmother was instrumental in the fight for women’s rights.

Kitchen Nightmares | 8pm on Fox
“Chiarella’s”
Chef Ramsay visits the “City of Brotherly Love” to check in on family-owned Italian restaurant Chiarella’s. Although the Philadelphia eatery boasts over 30 years of business, Chef Ramsay is shocked by the restaurant’s outdated menu, sloppy service and disorganized staff. Find out if Chef Ramsay is able to infuse the restaurant with classic Italian flair and revive its lackluster dining experience.

Shark Tank | 8pm on ABC
“Episode 306”
It becomes obvious to the Sharks that three ice cream makers from Old Lyme, CT, don’t have much money sense when pitching their beer-infused flavored ice cream. A man from Englewood, CO, brings his dog along to demonstrate how his pre-packaged meals for pets work. It gets loud when two women from Los Angeles, CA, hope the Sharks will gear up to make a deal with their line of protective safety wear for motorcycle enthusiasts. A young, street-smart entrepreneur from Venice, CA, wants the Sharks to go into his clothing business that allows people to digitally put images on any garment, turning it into wearable art. Also, a follow-up on Randy & Darryl Lanz from Peachtree City, GA, and their Ride On Carry On luggage attachment, which Barbara invested in during Season 2.

Nikita | 8pm on The CW
“Arising”

SUPERNATURAL: 7 Teases About ‘The Born-Again Identity’

SUPERNATURAL has been teasing the return of Misha Collins since late last year, and after watching his first episode back on the series (airing Friday night at 9 PM on The CW), I have to admit it surpassed what even I expected to be packed into the hour.

While I don’t want to give too much away, there are a few things I can tease about the hour… Read more

Comments Off on THE SECRET CIRCLE: Andrew Miller Talks Adam and Cassie’s ‘Curse’

After a season of dancing around each other, Cassie and Adam have finally gotten together on THE SECRET CIRCLE — but that doesn’t mean things are going to get any easier for the duo.

In a CW tease for tonight’s brand new episode, it says “Blackwell warns Cassie and Adam that their love may be destiny, but it’s also a curse,” and when I questioned showrunner Andrew Miller about it, he got coy.
