About Last Night…BONES, THE VOICE, and CASTLE

October 22, 2013 by

One of those nights where work got in the way of watching as much TV as I planned. But there is still a ton to talk about!

BONES: Admittedly, I was never a person who needed Booth and Brennan to get married. If they were together in a loving, committed relationship, that was fine for me. And look, who knows how the marriage will be handled…but that wedding was absolutely gorgeous.

First up, those vows? Unbelievable. Between Brennan’s letter that she wrote to Booth while she was trapped by the Gravedigger, to Booth recalling their dynamic of the very early years, that felt like a true love letter to the fans who watched this couple grow for nine seasons.

I did love how the entire team really was so true to character, between the setting up the entire wedding (Angela), taking bets on whether the case would derail the nuptials (led by Hodgins), the squints giving Arastoo grief for only being invited to the wedding as a plus-one, and just, really, everyone. And that Booth/Max moment? A+. So, so, great. The episode was everything I didn’t know I wanted/needed from a BONES wedding hour. You’ve also read Sarah’s take on it, too, yes?

(And yes, I cried.)

THE VOICE: I was…underwhelmed? There were some great song choices, but no one stood out and grabbed my attention. But on the bright side, there were no super terrible battle results, so at least there’s that.

CASTLE: So, do you buy Joshua Gomez’s character was a time traveler? The nugget of Castle moving beyond mystery novels to “serious” literature, while Beckett becomes a senator, and they have three kids (would that include Alexis? It feels like it would be weird to exclude her from the list of his kids) sure is an interesting one to ponder over…

Okay, enough from me…what did you watch last night?

Well Alexis will no more be a kid 20 years from now…

@Marienne: True, she shouldn’t be living with them, but I’d also imagine she wouldn’t be excluded from the book jacket. But I could be wrong! We didn’t hear the whole thing. 😉
