ABC at TCA: Paul Lee on the CASTLE Showrunner Change

July 15, 2014 by

CASTLE underwent a sizable behind-the-scenes shakeup last month when series creator Andrew Marlowe stepped down, and long-time executive producer David Amann took over main showrunning responsibilities.

But, when ABC President Paul Lee spoke with reporters after his Television Critics Association press tour executive session, he reiterated that Marlowe is remaining a huge part of the show’s creative team.

“The truth is, Andrew is deeply involved in it,” Lee said. “Andrew is so passionate about it. We just read one of the episodes he wrote. Our [new] showrunner is great, and he knows all about the show, [but] this is Andrew’s baby. Andrew’s not going to let it go. And he’s going to make sure this season is every bit as good as last. [CASTLE’]s another one of our underrated success stories — [Marlowe]’s a great showrunner.”

Are you excited to see what CASTLE season 7 has in store for viewers? (And you saw CASTLE now has a premiere date, yes?)

After reading Mr. Lee’s comments, I truly wish he means what he says and gives castle the exposure and credit it deserves. I wonder if he really knows how good this show is for his network and how far reaching it is. This show is one of the best,if not the best,on tv.Nathan and Stana have the best chemistry I have seen in a long time along with the rest of the cast. If ABC would really promote it like they do other shows, they would blow everyone away. Not enough respect from ABC imho!!!

If ABC really respect Castle must exposure more and give them better credits, i feel they don´t really understand what Castle is. Amazing show, amazing writers and Stana and Nathan are beyond perfect. Cast and crew are the best in TV. As a fan i want to see more support from ABC.
