Marisa’s Top 14 Episodes of 2014

For my top episodes of the year, I did something different this year: I didn’t let myself choose anything from my top shows of 2014. There are certainly shows there that could (and maybe should) have installments listed here, but considering how much television I watch, I wanted to expand the field of shows versus just going over (again) why I loved the top shows.
The following episodes aren’t ranked (they’re listed alphabetically), but I did note which one would have been number one if I had gone that route…
THE MINDY PROJECT: 'Danny and Mindy'
On paper, Danny and Mindy shouldn't work. But when you put Chris Messina and Mindy Kaling in a room together, their characters' chemistry is undeniable. And after the duo made a short-lived attempt at a relationship earlier in season 2, Danny pulled out all the rom-com stops to win Mindy over in the season 2 finale (including “visiting any place that Meg Ryan ever laugh-cried”), and their ultimate meeting at the Empire State Building was perfectly romantic. The episode was charming, lovely, and a highlight of their relationship (so far).
