Marisa’s Top 14 Shows of 2014

It was another great year for television, and to celebrate that, I made my list of the top shows in 2014.
As per usual, my annual disclaimer: I literally can’t watch every show, and so some shows that probably should be here (like TRANSPARENT) didn’t make the cut because I couldn’t catch up in time. (But on the bright side, I caught up on every show I name-checked last year as not being caught up on.)
So, these are my top shows of the year…
7. Orange is the New Black
I loved ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK season 1, and it felt like season 2 expanded on everything the show did right. (I didn't care for the Larry storyline, but that was the only misfire in my mind.)
Vee was a terrifying and legitimate threat to the inmates we've grown to care about, Morello's backstory (where it was revealed her "love" was actually just a man she briefly dated and subsequently became obsessed with) made me want to rewatch the entire series again, whereas Suzanne/Crazy Eyes' backstory broke my heart.
