CASTLE: Toks Olagundoye Joins Season 8

CASTLE is adding to its cast: THE NEIGHBORS’ Toks Olagundoye has been added as a season 8 series regular, a rep for the show has confirmed.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hayley is “a quick-witted, free-spirited former Scotland Yard police officer who works as a security specialist and isn’t afraid to cross lines to get things done.”
This is just the latest change to hit CASTLE: Penny Johnson Jerald (Gates) announced in late May she had been let go; and behind-the-scenes, season 7 showrunner David Amann exited (as did CASTLE creator Andrew Marlowe, and executive producer Terri Edda Miller), while longtime CASTLE writer Terence Paul Winter and THE FOLLOWING showrunner/former CASTLE writer Alexi Hawley were tapped to run season 8.

I have nothing against her she may be a fine actress, probably is! however it is a shame that the new writers apparently do not have the ability to utilize the tremendous talent we have watched over the past seven years . It is too soon to say, but it certainly looks like the show is about to take a strange turn away from the formula that has kept millions of fans coming back each year. Adding new characters which invariably take screen time away from the duo around whom the show was built is a sure course for disaster IMHO!
