PLAYING HOUSE is ending its season with a special back-to-back block of episodes. At 10 PM, Maggie and Emma help Mark put on a policeman’s ball. And at 10:30, the women are determined to see Kenny Loggins’ concert while he’s in town…but unfortunately their plan goes awry. (And, as you can see in the photo on the left, that prompts the return of Maggie’s alter ego, Bosephus.)

Loggins is appearing as himself in the finale (appropriately called “Celebrate Me Scones”), but he isn’t the only familiar face to expect: LOUIE’s Pamela Adlon is also guesting in the final episode of the year.

“We had Pamela Adlon [for the finale]…for this beautiful scene with [Zach Woods’ Zach],” Jessica St. Clair (Emma) shared on the set of the finale. “And she’s been one of our favorites. We actually saw her at the WGA Awards [for LOUIE]…and so we went into the writers’ room, wrote her a part, wrote her a letter, that looks like we’ve been stalking her her whole life — which we have.”

“She was in GREASE 2, come on,” Lennon Parham (Maggie) said.

“She was in SAY ANYTHING,” St. Clair added. “She was in SAY ANYTHING.”

“Did you hear me when I said GREASE 2?” Parham countered.

So, needless to say, the women were more than a little thrilled Adlon agreed to appear on their show.

“And then she showed up and we were like, ‘Pamela, love you, your boobs look phenomenal, let’s get you on TV,'” St. Clair recalled.

“‘Put on these tattoos, and these fingerless gloves, say this crazy shit about Woodstock ’94, and let’s roll,'” Parham added.

Which might sound like a bit of a bizarre character for Adlon to play, but it makes sense in context: her character, Pam, is one of the people Maggie, Emma, and Zach encounter while they’re trying to sneak into the Loggins concert.

“We get backstage at a certain person’s concert — illegally — due to a very aggressive and misogynistic man,” St. Clair teased.

“That’s your problem, not mine,” Parham said, channeling Bosephus.

“And Zach ends up falling for a guitar tech, Pam,” St. Clair continued. “We named [the character] Pam! She came into the trailer and was like, ‘You’re going to get me if you write me a nice letter; I’ll do almost anything.'”

Make sure to tune into the final two episodes of PLAYING HOUSE’s second season, starting tonight at 10 PM on USA Network — it’s two of the best episodes of the show’s run so far!
