THE GOLDBERGS, THE MASKED SINGER, SEAL TEAM

THE GOLDBERGS – “It’s A Wonderful Life” – Hoping to outdo the Kremp family, Beverly decides the Goldbergs must do an even better family holiday card, but Geoff is surprised he is not invited to be in the photo. Meanwhile, a pranking war with Barry and JTP quickly spirals out of control on an all-new episode of “The Goldbergs,” WEDNESDAY, DEC. 11 (8:00-8:30 p.m. EST), on ABC. (ABC/Rick Rowell)

Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!

THE GOLDBERGS: It’s crazy that this was episode 150, but how fitting they were able to work in a holiday photo angle. Also, Barry…simple, crazy Barry. His “revenge” on the JTP was so bonkers over the top, but his change of heart seemed sincere; I’m curious if there is any change in dynamic going forward.

THE MASKED SINGER: Man, I did not think the Leopard would be going home. (Also, wow, I’m very curious if Thingamajig does anything with his newly-revealed talent going forward.) I’m also super confused by whether it was supposed to be holiday-themed songs, considering two of the five (“Hallelujah” and “Mr. Brightside”) really don’t fit. It’s going to be an interesting finale, because truly they all feel pretty equal at this point.

SCHOOLED: Between the Beanie Babies and a performance of “You Gotta Be,” this episode was the most relatable to my pop culture youth.

It really is so jarring to see Adult!Barry, who totally has his professional career together. CB said he was giving up on Lainey, but he also got her the Beanie Baby, so…………..

SEAL TEAM: Toni Trucks was just fantastic in this episode. I appreciate that the team showed up to support Lisa, but, man, Trucks broke my heart when Lisa practiced what she might say to defend herself—admitting the truths she knew she couldn’t reveal later.

MODERN FAMILY: It is weird to think the family could splinter off so far a year from now, but it’s plausible…the show will be over and many of the characters are growing up.
