James Purefoy has joined the second season of PENNYWORTH as a series regular, EPIX announced.

The former THE FOLLOWING star will play Captain Gulliver Troy, Alfie’s former SAS Captain, who “is a charismatic, cultured brute and a powerful man of appetites – whether that be drink, women or danger.”

Additionally, the show has added Edward Hogg (as Colonel Salt, a “would-be despot masquerading as an obedient civil servant, Salt is a calculating killer, whether by pen or sword”), Jessye Romeo (as Katie Browning, “an idealistic art student whose life is uprooted by civil war, Katie is righteous, defiant and wonderfully naive”), Ramon Tikaram (returning as Inspector Victor Aziz), and Harriet Slater (returning as Sandra Onslow) as regulars.

PENNYWORTH “follows Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon), a former British SAS soldier in his 20s, who forms a security company in 1960s London and goes to work with young billionaire Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge), who has not yet become Bruce Wayne’s father.”

The second season is currently in production, with an intended launch of summer 2020.
