Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!

THE SIMPSONS: I don’t really know that the episode needed to be split into two parts. And it also feels like it was weird for the show to do that for a non-family character? But it was…fine?

AMERICAN IDOL: It’s really rough when a show loses half of its contestants in one go like that. But, also, why the fake drama over whether the judges would use the save or not? If they can only use it once, why wouldn’t they save one contestant?

WESTWORLD: Well, the finale looked gorgeous. And Jeffrey Wright and Gina Torres broke my heart.

But even after the finale, I’m not sure where the show goes in season 4. In some ways, that’s exciting, because the world is essentially wide open. Heck, they can come back with a nearly new cast of characters hundreds of years in the future (especially given the end scene with Bernard) and it would be feasible.

That being said, I also felt like this could have been a really cool, slightly open-ended finale. Alas.

BATWOMAN: Lucius writing the whole book in code was brilliant, though it’s rough for Kate that she was immediately betrayed by Reagan.

ZOEY’S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST: Knowing Mitch’s death was coming didn’t make the whole situation any easier. Given how much of the show has been centered on the family preparing for the loss, I’m really interested to see what those storylines look like next season when its not the center.

On a much lighter note, oh my God, Zoey and Max. I never really thought about how her powers could really, really, really mess up Zoey’s sex life, but what a nice way to break up the lingering tension of the impending doom with that ridiculous laugh.

[For more on ZOEY’S finale, from the original plan, that final moment, and season 2 intel, here’s what creator Austin Winsberg had to say.]

SUPERGIRL: A solid episode, as we explored a bit of Lex’s rise to power. It feels like they cannot repeat Lex and Lena’s lethal last go-round, so I’m curious how they get out of this. (And how long Lex will stick around for.)

BOB’S BURGERS: Oh my God, Louise. Also, how did Bob not think to help with, um, assistance, a day earlier? Because it was a gamble to use those tricks that close to her needing to leave.

FAMILY GUY: Wow, in hindsight, it’s almost crazy it took this long for the show to “kill” off Meg like this. (Chris definitely deserved several punches for what he put his sister—and family—through.)

THE ROOKIE: Well, since they teased there was a mole coming to the show, I was hoping it wasn’t Nick; it just felt a little too obvious. I’m really hoping there’s more than meets the eye, even though clearly he’s already done things that can’t be undone.
