MOM, GREY'S ANATOMY, REBEL

GREY’S ANATOMY – “Look Up Child” – Jackson pays a visit to his father that helps set him on the right path on a new episode of “Grey’s Anatomy,” THURSDAY, MAY 6 (9:00-10:01 p.m. EDT), on ABC. (ABC/Richard Cartwright)
JESSE WILLIAMS, SARAH DREW

Let’s talk about Thursday night’s TV!

MANIFEST: Cal breaking down about Grace getting rid of her dead brother’s stuff—because it triggered his trauma about his stuff being gone when he returned—was such a beautifully heartbreaking/human moment.

It feels like a VERY BAD IDEA FOR JARED TO DATE THE MAJOR’S DAUGHTER. Even if you exclude the impact on Mick and Zeke’s marriage—which, yikes—this feels like an instance where you shouldn’t keep your enemy’s kid close.

WALKER: Honestly, congrats to WALKER for having an episode end with an extended sequence set in a car and it not end with a car crash. As insane as that sounds, it’s such a rarity I did a double take when the credits came up.

GREY’S ANATOMY: ABC had been so heavily promoting Jackson/April’s relationship in the lead-up to Sarah Drew’s return, I expected there to be some element of a Japril reunion. And while they didn’t straight-up go there, certainly the door was left open for them to reunite in Boston, especially since they’re now both single. (Matthew deserved SO MUCH BETTER.)

Though this marks the start of the end for Jackson’s time on the show, it continues to feel like a final season type thing. I know it’s likely not the case, but what a weird position for the show to be in.

MOM: Wow, did I get emotional at this. We’ve seen so much growth from Bonnie over the show’s duration, but her admitting how much Majorie changed her life? Yep, I cried.

I’m really happy for Jill and Andy…she’s wanted to be a mom for so long, and now she has it, with a guy who is crazy about her.

REBEL: I’m glad we finally got a taste of Rebel and Grady being good together, rather than a straight-up toxic mess. I do feel awful for Cruz that he’s being so manipulated, though, because, uh, yeah, it’s not going to be good for his heart when he discovers Angela is working against him.

CLARICE: I’m so, so, so glad Krendler looped in the rest of the team to take down Hudlin. I was worried he might try and do it solo, while entirely alienating the team and that could have ended…very poorly.
