A MILLION LITTLE THINGS Boss DJ Nash Teases the Theme of Season 4

A MILLION LITTLE THINGS – “family first” – Gary struggles in the aftermath of his encounter with Peter. Meanwhile, Regina and Rome put on a united front following the closure of Someday and the deportation of Tyrell’s mother. Sophie deals with mixed emotions surrounding her mother while Delilah faces a difficult decision. A MILLION LITTLE THINGS ended its season on one heck of a Gary (James Roday Rodriguez) twist: he blindsided and attacked Peter (Andrew Leeds), who had groomed Sophie (Lizzy Greene) earlier in the year.
In the aftermath of that—as well as Eddie (David Giuntoli) getting a call from the person who claimed they hit and paralyzed him—season 4 will have a quasi-expected theme for the new season.
“I think the theme this season is forgiveness,” A MILLION LITTLE THINGS creator DJ Nash says. “And what does it mean to forgive another person? What does it mean to forgive yourself?”
“Mistakes were made,” he continues. “Some mistakes were made in Eddie[‘s life] or Gary going to Peter’s. Ever since [Gary] circled back and convinced Peter to take Sophie on as a student, he has been feeling tremendous guilt for what happened to Sophie. You saw in the finale, Gary and Delilah go at it [over D being gone]. And there is a certain forgiveness [that needs to come into play]. So I think that’s the theme that we’re going to follow and see what that means for everybody.”
