With TRANSPLANT’s Bash (Hamza Haq) going through an awful lot at work and home, he tries to get to the bottom of some of his trauma on the Sunday, March 27 episode, “Sever.”

“Post-traumatic stress is like a faucet,” his therapist tells him in the exclusive video below. “Once open, it keeps flowing, Bash, whether you like it or not.”

Bash, however, doesn’t exactly love that. “Are you saying I can’t stop it?” he questions.

“You can find healthy ways to live with it,” his therapist replies. “Like letting yourself feel the memories and talking about it instead of shouldering alone.”

As Haq acknowledged before the season started, Bash has had to grapple with an ever-changing landscape. “The lone thing Bash always does is survive and move on and find the best way to keep going,” he said at the time. “Season 1 was a manifestation of him keeping on; he’s just moving forward. He’s just keeping going. And then [his presumed-dead love, Rania] comes back and it throws him into a bit of a conundrum, because there was the life that he’s moving towards versus the life that he thought he had lost. And he has to…find a way…to make both of those work.”

“That constant push and pull is something that we see Bashir deal with for the entirety of the season,” he continued. “What it means for him, what it means for his work life, what it means for that budding situation with Mags, what it means for Amira, and just what it means for him, personally, as to where he is in his life, emotionally and personally and career-wise and mentally versus where he was when last he saw [this woman].”
