LAW & ORDER: Anthony Anderson Exits Ahead of Season 22

Anthony Anderson will not return for LAW & ORDER season 22.

Anderson, who was signed to a one-year deal, first portrayed Detective Kevin Bernard on the mothership from 2008-2010. (He also guest starred on L&O spinoff SVU as a different character in 2006.) He returned for the revival, as his Bernard was partnered with Jeffrey Donovan’s Detective Frank Cosgrove.

In addition to returning to LAW & ORDER, Anderson also wrapped up his eight-season tenure on ABC’s BLACK-ISH earlier this year.

Deadline was first to report the news.
