AMERICA'S GOT TALENT, MASTERCHEF, and THE CHALLENGE USA

“Pledges of Allegiance” – Players must scale a moving semi-truck in one of the most intense and fast-paced challenge of the season, on MTV presents THE CHALLENGE: USA, Wednesday, Sept. 7 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+*. Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!

AMERICA’S GOT TALENT: Well, I’m bummed Mervant Vera didn’t make it through and didn’t even make it to the wild card?! (The wild card voting and process was a mess and a half.)

Look, there are some incredible acts in the finale. But I reiterate this format is not actually helpful for the contestants and is going to make the finale absolutely brutal.

MASTERCHEF: How did they not time this better to have the finale airing in a night together?!

As someone who once was taught by Gordon Ramsay how to make a Baked Alaska at a TCA event—spoiler alert, it went absolutely terrible—I was stressed for everyone trying to make the dish as fast as they had to. I’m honestly surprised only Emily’s fell apart. And then Shanika just could not keep up with making the pasta…it’s so awful she left on another pasta dish, but she did the best she could.

I’m rooting for Dara to win it all. She’s really been impressive time and time again, and a JUNIOR contestant taking it all would be an incredible feat.

THE CHALLENGE USA: Okay, Angela was brilliant to use her pegs on the truck as stepping stones. Yes, there was a major advantage to go last, but wow, she was the only one who managed to complete it—a total beast.

The Enzo of it all was such a mess. Angela’s point about him being a liability…is fair. If you’re this close to the finale and your ultimate partner can’t be in the water and that’s a part of it? It could cost you everything. But I like Enzo, and felt awful for him and David that they had to face off against each other.

That being said…how the heck was David not going for the ball in the final???? Two separate times he could have made a move and just..did not. Oy.

But, uh, good luck to the house/remaining contestants!
