THE ROOKIE: FEDS: Terence Paul Winter Teases the ‘Pretty Delightful’ ‘Felicia’

THE ROOKIE: FEDS may have just gotten a full-season pick-up, but the show isn’t wasting any time on taking big swings. In addition to the upcoming Thanksgiving episode, the pitch for the Tuesday, October 25 episode, “Felicia,” was so unexpected, the showunners had to verify it was even possible.

“It was one of those ideas in the room where, when it was pitched, we said, ‘Is that crazy?'” THE ROOKIE: FEDS co-showrunner Terence Paul Winter recalls to Give Me My Remote. “And then we spoke to our [advisor, who] was a former FBI agent. And she said, ‘Oh yeah, that can happen. Definitely that would happen.’ We said, ‘Oh, well we have to have this episode. This is the episode that needs to happen.'”

So in “Felicia,” Simone (Niecy Nash-Betts) and Carter (James Lesure) find themselves tracking down a suspect…and get trapped in the tropics.

“It’s a misadventure that happens when Carter and Simone go to a Caribbean island to extradite a very interesting criminal,” Winter teases. “And all types of issues follow them as they try to get off this island. It’s pretty delightful.”
