FBI, FBI: INTERNATIONAL, and FBI: MOST WANTED

“These Walls” – The witness Remy and Kristen are visiting in prison is put in danger when a riot breaks out, leaving the staff and visitors held hostage by two murderous gangs, on the CBS Original series FBI: MOST WANTED, Tuesday, May 9 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+. Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!

FBI: Oh my God, the notion that Katie tried to claw her way out of that toy chest made me sick to my stomach. And good lord that visual is going to stick in my head for a while.

I liked the episode a lot, but I’m also a little confused by why this wouldn’t have been a MOST WANTED case. (I know, I shouldn’t think that hard about it.) Either way, the building dread as it felt clear something was going to go wrong was played with well by the writers/actors/directors, because…yeah, two missing people—when one was ignored for days because she didn’t have the correct ties to “people that matter”—felt like a recipe for heartbreak.

FBI: INTERNATIONAL: Oh, Smitty.

On the bright side, it feels like Smitty’s brother, Chris, can officially join the list of procedural siblings who come on the show every once in a while and muck things up. (AKA, I would not be surprised to see him pop back up at some point with more trouble in tow.) But I’m so sad for her that she had to struggle with this.

I did really, really love the scene between Scott and Smitty, though, because their friendship is so lovely and underrated.

Vo and the new guy hooking up this fast? Oh, yeah, that has the possibility to get messy as hell.

FBI: MOST WANTED: The episode felt like a spiritual cousin to “Run-Hide-Fight”—which is one of my favorite episodes of the series—as the team was in a lockdown/riot. The hour felt claustrophobic and bubble-like, in an earned way, as the team was varying degrees of trapped. (Admittedly, I was less concerned about them making it out alive…I felt pretty sure they’d all survive this go-round.)

But I really appreciate that the show is taking swings with format, because it keeps us on our toes and also pushes the characters to new places.

Speaking of the characters…yeah, I’m worried about Remy. We’ve seen how sensitive he can get about his brother’s case, and with this information out there that he can’t access? Fingers crossed he doesn’t take it out on the team next week and/or he doesn’t cross lines trying to figure out WTF is going on.
